We are very disappointed to read that you are less than satisfied with the care at our lovely home. I would have been very happy to discuss any concerns you had with you at the end of your visit to your family member when we talked and before you left the building. However, on the follow-up call after this review, you brought to my attention some of these concerns were from over a year ago. I would like to reassure you my door is always open to discuss anything you wish at any time, and we will do everything possible to ensure that you are happy and to confirm that she is happy going forward.

We are sorry you feel this way about the time your loved one spent with us at Llys-Y-Tywysog, I would like to reassure you that the staffing ratio here at Llys-Y-Tywysog is above industry standards and is monitored by our regulator and recently by Swansea Social services. Please see our latest CIW inspection report for our regulators finding on an unannounced visit. Our regulators recorded, ‘People and their relatives were enthusiastic about all aspects of the home and how this positively impacted on their well-being. The home is managed by a professional, experienced and enthusiastic manager who has instigated a culture whereby people are placed at the heart of the service. Each person’s care and support is closely monitored and care workers have positive, professional relationships with people.’ Many families and residents have had very positive experiences working together with us. We do hope you will consider us in the future.

Hello I am Michelle the General Manager of Lys-Y-Tywysog. I have worked at Llys-Y-Tywysog for over 20 years, I really have worked in every department and I love every element of the job! In 2019 I completed the QCF Level 5 in management to become Deputy Manager and was delighted to be appointed General Manager in 2021.
It is so rewarding working in this wonderful home and I am honoured to lead such a committed team. I am sure we have one of the longest serving teams of any home, with a number of the team having worked at Llys for over 10 years and some over 20 years. I am passionate about delivering excellent care to residents and enriching their lives every day with the focus on person centred care. We also offer a fantastic life enrichment programme with fun and varied activities and events.
I am here to offer support to the residents, their families and the team. For anyone considering care for themselves or for a loved one our doors are open for you to visit and meet the team.

Hi, I am Paula the Activities Coordinator, I have recently returned to Llys-Y-Tywysog. I worked at the home for over 5 years when my children were younger. My close connection with Llys remained as my father-in-law was a former resident, so I was still visiting regularly. I am delighted to be back working with the team.
I am creative and hope to bring new ideas for activities and events as well as still running firm favourites! My passion is about enhancing the lives of the residents from individual time through to big celebratory events. Sarah will continue to work as part of the activities team, working alongside me part-time whilst studying for her degree at Swansea University.
