Trafalgar Park Care Home, located in the village of Nelson, near Caerphilly, provides high quality personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built friendly and welcoming care home has a café, large landscaped garden and patio, pub, tea room, hair salon and quiet room. There is also a range of comfortable en-suite bedrooms, suitable to all tastes.

On top of this, Trafalgar Park boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents or welcome family and friends for those special occasions. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable experience for every resident and visitor, offering a varied and delicious menu.

Taking the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests, the team create a varied and enriching lifestyle programme full of activities and events to get involved in, reflective of each person's hobbies and interests. In addition to the range of activities available, residents are also encouraged to take an active role in the Nelson community.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to all staff at Trafalgar Park, for the continued care they give to my mum, particularly at this time when her needs are at their greatest. Their welcome, kindness and care, to me as well, knows no bounds - so grateful.

Every time I visit my grandfather, all of the staff are absolutely brilliant and very helpful and kind. I feel that they make my grandfather very comfortable here and he is happy. Well done all.

Mam is very well cared for. Staff are always polite to Mam and ourselves. The staff go above and beyond to make sure Mam eats and drinks, thank you. Mam is always clean and dressed lovely. Mam has settled in and appears to be content.

Very friendly environment. Staff can't do enough for you. They are amazing with all the residents. Always happy and making each resident feel valued and special. The home is always spotlessly clean. Management and admin staff are always very pleasant and very accommodating and helpful.

My friend has only been at the home since just before the pandemic, and I live about 40-minutes away, so I have only been about half a dozen times. Each time Staff have been friendly and helpful, but of late have sometimes seemed very busy because of staff shortages. My friend's room is pleasant and
clean, and she has no complaints about the food, staff or anything else. She has become confused and wonders why she is there but has nothing negative to say about the home. My options are from my own experience of my friend's experience.

There will be times of the day that our staff team are busier as we cannot predict daily all that happen, and some days we have emergency situations to deal with. The home is extremely welcoming, the staff are most accommodating in all aspects. The lady I visit speaks very highly of both the staff and the facilities and is very happy and contented here. Every visit here is extremely pleasurable.

Unable to comment on value for money as we do not finance the fees involved. We have always been welcomed by the staff in a polite, courteous and friendly manner. Our family member appears to be happy and secure in her new surroundings. The home itself is modern, clean and has a bright, vibrant atmosphere.

The staff are very, very welcoming and very helpful. So pleasant, very clean, a lovely room for residents to sleep in - very bright, airy and pleasant. The staff treat the residents as their families. Lovely, clean dining room - better than some bed and breakfast places I have been to. Every room, dining,
reception, bedrooms are really lovely. I have no worries at all about my sister-in-law being cared for because the love just shone through. God bless all the staff and thank you.

The carers looked clean and tidy in their uniforms. They were very polite, professional and friendly to me as a visitor. The carers had a very nice, friendly mannerism with the residents. My father is a new resident at the home and has settled in very well. I am sure that is down to the carers. He says
he is happy there, is joining in the activities and enjoying the food. All in all, a thumbs up.

My father has recently moved to this care home and he settled in very well from the start. He's happy and participates in activities and enjoys them, especially singing. I've always found management friendly, approachable and understanding. The staff are welcoming and very friendly. His room is spotless,
