Fairways Nursing care is an award-winning home providing the best standards of elderly care requiring residential and nursing support. It was one of the first built Nursing Homes in Anglesey in 1984.

The home can accommodate 38 residents with four lounges for the users to enjoy their quality time and relax.

The home team comprises highly qualified nurses, carers and an experienced culinary team. The aim is to be ‘Home’ to the people who live at Fairways. The team spend a lot of time ensuring a caring culture fostered by compassion and dignity.

Excellent care from all staff. Visiting made really easy. Can't ask for better care. Staff are always friendly and pleasant to talk to. Care for my wife is second to none. Thank you, it isn't always possible to get to the home, so it's comforting to know that I can always phone, to get a prompt answer
to any enquiry.

The care that Fairways give to my mother is brilliant. All the workers there are so caring. Absolutely no complaints. My mother is well looked after and every day they bring my mum to the conservatory which is so good for her.

My husband has been in various Care Homes since September 2023. Fairway's in Trearddur Bay is like a 5 5-star hotel in comparison to others he has been in. He is always clean/shaved and comfortable when I visit. The staff are all excellent and I take so much comfort from knowing that as I can't care
for him at home anymore I have full confidence that he is receiving the best care and TLC available.
Myself and my husband are always treated with the utmost respect at all times and can't praise the home enough. Thank you.

The staff at Fairways who care for my father are kind, caring and very professional. He always tells me that he is well looked after and I receive a very warm welcome when I visit. My letters are read to him and he had a beautiful cake for his 91st Birthday with treats at Christmas. The building is
in need of some updating/redecorating but the quality of care is excellent and he is happy. Thank you to his carers who are simply wonderful.

Our Mother has been a resident in Fairways nursing home for the past six years. During that time we have seen changes of management and care staff.
Throughout this time Mum has been treated with dignity and respect.
The care staff are excellent Mum always looks very peaceful.
The family always receive
a warm welcome from the staff.
If any problems occur they are dealt with efficiently.
The family thank Fairways for the ongoing care Mum receives.

I don't have any issues to write about, I feel the residents are cared for very well considering the amount of staff available. Maybe the only thing I would have a gripe about is the curtains, so old, brown water stains on them, unable to close them properly, they don't glide on the tracks, can't always
block out the sun directly on the residents face.

My husband has been at Fairways for nearly a year now.
The staff are excellent. They keep me regularly informed of any changes in his health/medication etc. He receives excellent care and the staff are always helpful and courteous.

All the staff are very polite, kind and caring. My uncle has settled very well and I couldn't ask for better care for him. His transfer from a hospice was very smooth and he was warmly welcomed to Fairways.

Whenever I visit my husband I am always greeted very politely by all staff. I visit regularly on random days but he is always very comfortable, clean and in good spirits. All staff are up to date with his nutrition on medical needs and staff keep me informed of any medical situations which may occur.
I am always telephoned with regard to inoculations etc or medical situations.

My father is in Fairways Nursing Home, and he is well cared for, and always clean and comfortable. He had a chest infection recently and the GP was called straightaway, and I was also notified immediately.
The staff are lovely. Very caring and kind. Dad loves a laugh and a joke and they take time to
join in with him. There is a high level of continuity of staff which is so important for the elderly. Dad knows his carers and they get to know him too.
Dad likes the old-fashioned puddings served, and the cake! Staff took a lot of trouble on his 90th birthday to make a cake and set his room for a tea party.
Yes, the building needs decorating, but there is no “care home smell”. I’ve been in a few and Fairways never has that. In my opinion, the most important thing is the high quality of care given. Dad is settled and says he’s well looked after. Can’t ask for more than that.

My mother has been in Fairways Nursing Home for the last few weeks. My first impressions have been that she is being looked after by caring, dedicated staff. Everyone is very friendly and empathetic. Communication has been very easy, professional and relevant. Yes, the building needs some TLC which
I understand is part of an ongoing programme of works but the quality of the staff and their attitude far outweigh this issue.

My mother is a resident of Fairways Nursing Home. She is well looked after by the team. I personally know many of the staff. They are lovely, caring people and nothing is too much trouble. The care and love they show my mum is amazing, all done with a good sense of humour which I know she enjoys. It
was a hard decision to place Mum in a nursing home, but also the right decision. Mum has settled well and has improved, she knows that she is in the right place. We as a family were lucky to find Fairways for Mum. She has a lovely room with her things all around her. Mum can be private or join in with the lovely activities the staff arrange so well. One staff member puts a great deal of thought into entertaining the residents so every day doesn't seem the same, which is so important. It is clear to me that the success of Fairways is totally down to its staff; amazing people doing amazing jobs. From a grateful daughter, thank you.

During the run-up to Christmas in December the staff created a very happy atmosphere there with decorations, activities and Christmas presents for the residents. The Christmas day dining was excellent, the staff worked very hard to bring the residents to the meal in the lounge and served everybody.

My father was admitted to Fairways in March for so-called end-of-life care. Within 3 weeks we were told that they couldn't cope with him and they would have to move him to their other home on Anglesey that specialised in dementia care. So the matron from that home came out to assess him and promptly
told us, no, they couldn't take him as they didn't have enough staff so he had to stay where he was and clearly not wanted. We visited him twice a week for the 3 months he was there. I lost count of the number of times he was in his chair in the communal room when we walked in, slumped forwards, nearly falling out of his chair with the so-called nurse sitting at a table with her back to him clearly not caring at all about the people supposedly in her care. Also he suddenly started getting a lot of injuries, cuts, very bad bruises, etc. which he never got while at home and we were told he fell or he did it to himself. This was bad enough but we had to keep asking for the plasters to be changed as they clearly hadn't been. Fairways Trearddur on Anglesey is supposed to be a nursing home, what a joke, it's at best a poor care home.
My father passed away on the 30th of May while I was on holiday supposedly in his sleep, who knows. All I do know is his last few months of life were a misery with the way he was treated and to cap it all when we went to Fairways to pick up his belongings they were just all thrown into a box, his picture frames broken, his ornaments broken, clothes that weren't even his. To say I am fuming is an understatement.

Fairways Care has recently been taken over and is now under new management. As a provider we are highly experienced in providing elderly care and look forward to taking the homes into the next stage of their journey. There is a new home manager for the service who is keen and determined to ensure extremely high standards within the home are met. With regards to the moving to one of our other homes, this was a multi-disciplinary decision and not facilitated due to both homes and the health boards assessment stating this would not be in your loved ones best interest due to poor health at the time. Sadly at the time of assessment it was deemed that moving would be more dangerous to their health. We are sorry if this was not communicated to you. We would be happy to have a call with you to discuss your concerns.
