Lennel House Care Centre, which provides residential care for older people and adults, is set in 11 acres of gardens in the Berwickshire countryside.

Highly-trained staff cater to a variety of care needs including nursing, dementia, residential and respite care.

Situated less than a mile from Coldstream in the Scottish Borders, the home’s location offers stunning views over the River Tweed and Cheviot Hills.

Beatrix Potter stayed for a summer at the house over 100 years ago and it is known that this is where she was inspired for her famous character 'Peter Rabbit.' As a tribute to this, the bedroom Beatrix Potter stayed in has been transformed into 'The Beatrix Potter coffee room' for the residents and the relatives to use, which contains pictures of Beatrix Potter's work.

The house was originally built around 1820 and its impressive architecture and features have been retained.

The home caters for 38 residents in single occupancy rooms, although shared rooms can be accommodated on request.

There is an in-house hairdressing salon and hairdressers visit weekly.

An activities coordinator ensures each resident is involved in meaningful activities. Meals with fresh, nutritious, locally-sourced ingredients are prepared by the chef for residents to enjoy.

My wife and I have been married 57 years so it came as quite a shock when 2 years ago she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I did my best to look after her at home but it became too much for me, so I had to make the decision for her to go into a care home at Lennel. Over 2 years have passed now and I
have no regrets taking this big step. The manager and staff are all so nice and helpful it makes me so happy that Lennel certainly delivers. Well done St Philips, I know she is in good hands.

Visited a friend at Lennel House Homes Care Centre recently who I hadn't seen in a while as I live out of the area. I was just so delighted to see a big improvement across the board! Particularly just to see such happy and relaxed residents and staff who genuinely seem to love their job! The home has
come under new management and makes a big difference... feels such a lovely home from home with beautiful decor in the rooms and around the shared areas. Had such a positive visit and comforted to know my friend is being taken such good care of.

95% staff very good, just not enough staff. Good staff left frustrated as would do more for residents. Too quick to leave mum in bed all day with no medical reason, simple rewording of question would encourage her up and about. Better dementia training required. Sad to see residents 'parked' in tv lounge,
again staffing levels not adequate, no stimulation at all. Family left frustrated by empty promises. Never been asked for personal history of mum resulting in no idea of her likes/dislikes, family or past job held etc. daily visit required to make sure primary needs are met.
