My mother has been a resident for three months and before that, she spent 5 months
in re-hab before that at home so I do not have a lot to compare with. Annfield House Care Home has a good reputation I discovered when researching care and I have found it lives up to this. There always looks to be staff
available and I have always found them friendly and helpful.
The rooms are clean and bright and mum says the food is good. At Christmas, I ate with mum and it was very good.

My mum moved to this home after living with me for 13 and a half years. I was devastated by this but was not coping due to her dementia.
I can honestly say this was the best move ever after looking at approximately 13 homes we found Annfield.
The staff from domestics to the manager are friendly, approachable
and have the best interests of the residents.
The home is warm, welcoming and spotless.
The staff are the best, they go the extra mile.
I can only praise them and thank them for their continued support.

When I could no longer care for my husband at home, he was assessed as requiring nursing care. I visited a number of care homes and was particularly impressed with Annfield and very pleased that a place became available. My husband became a resident on 28/7/17.

The manager, nursing staff, care staff,

cleaning and catering staff all treat my husband with dignity and respect. Staff take a keen interest in every aspect of his welfare and encourage activities which he can enjoy. Staff are always willing to take the time to speak to me and other family and friends. There is a very caring culture and the staff all seem to enjoy their work.

My mother was, unfortunately, only in Annfield House for a few weeks prior to her passing. In those short few weeks, however, the care she received was exemplary. This standard of care continued right through her passing. The managaress lent both my mother and I the most wonderful compassion and care.
I cannot speak highly enough of her. Those last few weeks were extremely difficult made much less so by the staff.

Mum has dementia and came to Annfield House on the 29th May, that first day she was not happy at all. Now just over 2 weeks later she has settled well is enjoying the food and taking part in many activities and mixing with others. Thanks to the staff who are caring and friendly, always on the go but
always with kind words and encouragement for residents as well as visiting relatives.

The care at Annfield House is excellent. The staff are all very pleasant and very kind and thoughtful to residents. The home is spotlessly clean and always smells very fresh. The menus are excellent and my mother constantly praises the food. The table linen, cutlery and crockery are of a high standard
with fresh flowers on the table which is of great importance to my mother. The laundry of residents clothes is done to a high standard which is also important.

My daughter and I visited several care homes in the district before we made our decision. We chose Annfield House Care Home as we were impressed with the friendly staff and the homely clean surroundings. It proved to be the perfect choice as my husband is well looked after by well-trained and friendly
staff. The varied menu each day means he has put on weight and he is eating much better. He was poorly when he arrived; we do not worry about him now.

My mother-in-law came to Annfield in November 2015, when her physical frailty made it impossible for her to be safe at home. I researched all 8 homes able to cater for her needs in a 10-mile radius of Stirling. I reviewed numerous care inspectorate reports; checked financial stability; telephoned every
manager; visited every home.
Annfield stood out. From the first phone call, the manager and her staff stood head and shoulders above all others. The manager made suggestions in that first call which helped me better understand the processes around social care, enabling me to take better-informed decisions. I have come to appreciate that this level of care, warmth and integrity is central to the ethos at Annfield. Without exception, I have found it in each staff member. We live 400 miles away, so this level of trust really matters. Annfield is very clean, great food, with plenty of activities, and a real sense of community. My mother-in-law has felt truly loved and cared for.

I lost my wonderful Mother to the cruelties of dementia recently but she fought an extremely brave battle at Annfield House Care Home thanks to the amazing support, kindness and dignity shown from all the staff and management. My Mum was understood and loved and the staff showed incredible professionalism
and knowledge of her illness and could put solutions into place exactly when they were needed. I am grateful to Annfield and for all the support my family and I have received throughout this awful time. I have certainly met some wonderful people here and made some very good friends.

My mothers stay at Annfield House was short, August to November 2016. During this time she settled in well, enjoying the company, food and entertainment.
My mother died in November 2016 and in the 3 weeks leading up to her death, the nurses and carers could not have done enough for her.
As a team
they showed true dedication, tenderness and warmth which was of great comfort to my sister and I. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Our only criticism would be that the manager never acknowledged our presence or my mother's death.
Overall, my sister and can only describe the care my mother received as excellent.

I was pleased to hear that the level of support that your mother received was excellent and I will pass this on to all of my staff.

My husband spent a few days respite in Annfield House Care Home. It was his first time there and was quite happy. He had a nice room, comfortable bed and enjoyed the food. He is looking into another visit soon.

My mother suffered from Dementia and she was cared for very well. All the staff had a clear way of dealing with these type of people.
I can only say that my mother was so well looked after and everyone enjoyed her company. She would have some moments where she would be verbally and physically abusive
but the staff were very capable of dealing with this. I cannot thank them all enough. I could never have dealt with her at home. With all this wonderful care she lived to 93.

I have been visiting my friend since she moved into Annfield House Care Home just over a year ago and throughout that time, I have found the staff friendly and always willing to help. The premises are clean and well cared for and most importantly the residents are happy, clean and well looked after
and have a good relationship with the staff. The recent addition of a monthly 'What's Happening' booklet all about the goings on, staff info, etc. etc. is most welcome. Congratulations to all.

Care in Annfield is excellent - 1st class with all residents needs being met in a quiet and caring manner. Residents are treated kindly with dignity and respect. The staff at all levels look after the residents with thought and giving individual attention at all times. As I am an independent person
I have access to all areas and I am able to take part in the social functions in and out of Annfield at any time. As a keen gardener, I tend to take care of our garden over the year which gives everyone pleasure.

This is the second time mum has spent at Annfield on respite and the same as first, it was a lovely time for my mum, allowing us to go on holiday and relax. She was so well cared for, the staff, nurses and domestic were all attentive and all her needs were met. She even befriended a resident who is
arranging to visit mum at home. The home is spotless, warm and welcoming she is looking forward to her next visit.

The manager, she is an absolute rock at all times. Her door is always open, she's always free for a chat to clear up concerns or worries about anything at all. She never stops whether she's at her desk working away or on the floor supporting residents, dishing out cups of tea or anything else in between.
Her team of nurses are second to none. They're always full of cheer and offer help, support and comfort at all hurdles, and in particular during the final days/hours of my friend after having a recent terminal diagnosis and losing her battle fairly quickly. The nursing assistants are coming along just nicely, but with such excellent support from other staff, I wouldn't expect any less. I can't praise the staff in Annfield enough for their hard work and such compassion. I cannot recommend them enough.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.031)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.031) out of 10 for Annfield House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.831 for Annfield House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.831

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.2 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Annfield House Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.6

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
