Thank you very much for your response. I am very happy to hear you are happy with our care and take your other comments on board. At Bandrum we have a vast and varied selection of activities. Many are included in the weekly fee like bingo, art and coffee mornings to the new café etc, etc but others do have to include a charge to cover any costs for entry tickets etc. All our care and activities are bespoke and person centred therefore it would be unfair to charge a blanket cost. Our staffing schedules are set out by our regulator SCSWIS and we meet or exceed these depending on the needs for our clients. Thank you for your positive feedback, it is good to know you are happy with the care your relative receives. Due to our location we offer transport on a daily basis for visitors from Dunfermline Bus Station to the home and return journey. All we ask visitors to do is call the home to book a seat on the bus so our driver is aware of those he will be collecting. We also offer extra collection service if needed. This service is a courtesy service and free of charge. If you would like further information on this or anything else you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to let me know.

Meet Gillian Frickleton. She is a Staff Nurse in Meadow View, our Special Dementia Unit. She is an RGN (Registered General Nurse). She started at Bandrum in 2018 working with our Younger Adults and then in October 2019 she moved to Meadow View.
Why did you want to become a Nurse? Gillian’s mum was a nurse and from an early age Gillian enjoyed looking at her mums notes and even before starting school knew she wanted to be a Nurse.
What’s changed in Nursing for you? When Gillian started her career there were matrons who followed traditional processes and did things as they had always been done. Now Nursing is more evidence based and person centred. Gillian care we provide in care homes and Bandrum especially is more complex.
How are you coping?
While Gillian doesn’t like to see people ill, she is rising to the challenge at the moment. Out with work she is enjoying her free time to relax. She likes horse riding, walking and gardening. She also has a cat.

A very friendly place with the most helpful staff in all areas.
Of course, the residents make it a joy to come in every day and interact with them so nice.
Our care staff are exceptional and the standards of care are high.

I came into the family business and haven't looked back. There is nothing more rewarding than helping people get more out of life through care. I enjoy seeing the residents and staff every day and knowing that we make a difference.
It is hard work but worth it I am also the chair for the Fife branch of care providers and do what I can to support the other care providers and make Fife the best place to provide (and receive) care services
