Since my last review in February things have not improved. The care my sister receives is not as good as it should be. There is a lack of communication at all levels. The staff are all very hardworking. Most are very friendly but unfortunately, a few are not. The food can be a hit or a miss. I am disappointed!
As I said previously, hopefully, things will improve!

Since my wife has been in this care home she has been very happy and content. She does a lot of wandering around to see what is going on and will enjoy the garden when it is ready to go out too. She can have a laugh and a joke when one certain member of staff comes in. I have never seen her eat so much
and she looks a lot healthier for it. And all the staff are great, they always speak in the passing.

We are very happy. Our first contact with one last when she came to Dad's home put us at ease. She showed great empathy and helped us enormously. We had a look around with another lady, who was welcoming and friendly. Dad is so well cared for by everyone. The home is warm, cosy and friendly. We feel
welcome. Dad seemed comfortable and not anxious anymore. We feel that everyone is genuinely interested in Dad and his well-being. The staff are fantastic, special shout out to all the staff.

My father seems to have settled in OK. His dementia is getting worse, we are very happy with his care. The only thing that he wants is his whisky at night and his TV on. All staff seem to be very pleasant and meet my father's needs (no complaints).

My mum has now been a resident in the above care home for just over a year. I have been impressed by the overall care provided, my mum is settling in well after an initially more difficult period. The staff are always on hand to help in any way. The home itself is a happy, cheerful place and always
appears very clean, my mum hasn't lost weight so I assume the food etc. is very good!

My gran enjoys being in the care home. Her room is lovely and clean, well set out and just as she wants it.
The staff are all very friendly and treat my gran with the care and dignity she deserves. The food is great as well with a wide variety of different dishes which my gran seems to enjoy. She eats
and drinks well.
The management is very approachable and will do their upmost to solve any issues I may have had.

I am very pleased with the level of care and attention to Mum at all times.
Staff are all very attentive and respectful towards Mum. Her room is warm, cosy and well-furnished.
There is great input from outside agencies for care eg: Mum's hair and feet etc.

Since Mum arrived she has looked better in herself. Mum just looks cleaner and kept tidy i.e. her hair is brushed, her nails are cleaner and her clothes. This means a lot, Mum just wasn't getting the best care at her last home. The staff goes above and beyond for Mu and the visitors, they are all very
friendly. Everything is spotless and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We love taking Mum to the coffee area as it feels like being at a coffee shop. No complaints whatsoever to report. great home, the main thing is Mum's welfare and happiness.

My husband has been with you for just over 2 months I am very happy with the care he gets. I know he can be snippy at times he doesn't mean any harm. Care is good. It's lovely and everywhere is nice and clean, he gets fresh clothes on daily so overall I am more than happy, thank you very much.

I am very pleased with the care that is being provided. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is early days yet but I think it will take a while for my father to settle down. He is still very mobile and active but I appreciate that he is being kept safe.

I find Chapel Level Care Home to be a very comfortable, warm, welcoming place for my mum to live. It's bright and breezy and cannot fault the staff. Everyone is so friendly and very chatty. My mum is very settled and happy and is always saying how lovely the staff are. She also says the food is great.
The entertainment is lovely too, with the activities coordinator doing a great job.

As you can imagine, it was a very difficult decision to finally decide that Mum and Dad, together, should enter a care home after 70 years of marriage and 60 years of living in the one house.
Chapel Level was marvellous, ensuring that large adjacent rooms were provided. The staff were so welcoming
and considerate, taking small steps at a time so as to ease the transition and overcome any inevitable confusion and concern.

Please please do not put your loved one in this care home. We have had several issues culminating in the Care Inspectorate and social services being involved. Changes in management, along with dishonest staff sadly let our relative and our family down badly. It's a shame for the care staff there that
do carry out their work properly and cannot be faulted but after our recent experience we would firmly advise against using this care home.

It is a big decision choosing a care home for someone you love dearly, but I could have not asked for any more from the staff at Chapel Level. They have been incredible, even despite difficult circumstances with the pandemic, working hard to take care of my mum. She called them angels - not a bad word
she could say. It brought us comfort through a difficult time as a family, and we would not hesitate to recommend Chapel Level Care Home to anyone. Thank you.

The staff and carers are very helpful and are always there when you need them, I have never ever found any fault in the home and it is very clean. I would never consider anywhere else that I would put my husband, to me I made the perfect choice.

My mother came into care here nearly 12 months ago with dementia, during Covid-19. Everyone has been amazing, all the staff have been knowledgeable and very good at keeping us informed. A member of staff, in particular, has been very good at telling us how mum has been doing and any other needs she

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kind care to me is treating others as you wish to be treated.”


As a Health Care Professional, Susan has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked in the care sector for many years, Susan closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Susan remarked:


“I enjoy being able to share skills and experiences with fellow Colleagues to allow them to deliver the level of care our Residents need, to make the environment a home from home.”


Susan has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being the owner of a special Care Home for elderly ladies.


Outside of work, Susan enjoys going on holiday and spending time with good friends.
