Earlsferry House Care Home provides residential, nursing, dementia and respite care in a converted period house set in a stunning location. The home is next to the beach in the coastal town of Elie and Earlsferry.

The home offers a safe and comfortable environment with rooms across two floors and a choice of lounges, most with views overlooking Elie Bay. The residents' wellbeing is at the heart of everything the care home does and it prides itself on the welcoming and lively social atmosphere.

The staff are great with my husband. He was recently moved to a new room upstairs as the manager and the staff felt it would be better for his mental wellbeing as he would have more company. I was skeptical about moving him at first but after visiting I have to say I am very impressed and it just goes
to show how well the manager and the staff know him and what's best for the people in their care. Many, many thanks.

Mum has been a resident in Earlsferry House since 2013 following the onset of dementia. There has been a lot of staff changes in that time but there are still a few who remain from when Mum first arrived. There have been some bumpy patches over the years, particularly at the start of Covid but thankfully
things seem more settled now. The lift does seem to break down regularly which prevents residents from coming downstairs, which is a shame. The key staff are very kind and caring towards my mum and the rest of our family. They are quick to call if there are any changes in Mum's health or if Mum needs anything and are always quick to do the 6 monthly reviews. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. If there is a special celebration they provide lovely food and decorations. I have peace of mind that Mum is in the best and safest place with people who love her. I can't thank everyone in Earlsferry House enough.

The manager is extremely hardworking, who is doing a great job, especially in the recent difficult circumstances due to Covid. All of the care home staff I have met provide a high standard of care to my mother-in-law and the other residents.
We are always kept informed if there are any issues regarding
health problems. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law was ill recently, and the care home staff correctly contacted the local GP and ANP service for clinical backup. This was not provided in a timely manner, and I felt that the GP service had let the home and patient down. However, I did address this with them, and they did eventually see my mother-in-law. I really appreciate the way the manager and the other nursing staff dealt with this difficult event.
My mother-in-law has complex needs following a stroke, diabetes and development of dementia, but I know she feels safe and well cared for, and the staff are very attentive to all her needs.

After 3 years in hospital with dementia, my husband has now spent around the same time in the care home. While the ownership has changed, the staff have always been helpful and considerate to patients and family alike. With great care from the staff most of whom are long-serving, he survived Covid early
in the pandemic. Despite restrictions, there were times when we could visit last year, and having a home in lovely surroundings makes the visiting more pleasant. It would be good to see the terrace improvements completed before warmer weather.

My mum recently spent the last few weeks of her life at Earlsferry Care Home. The management and staff could not have been more helpful. We were delighted with their professionalism, the care my mum received and the genuine feelings they expressed to myself and my sister. The home is in a beautiful
position overlooking gardens and the sea. The rooms are of a very good size, well decorated and kept spotless. All steps had been taken to keep the site covid secure. Would without hesitation recommend this care home.

We first visited Earlsferry in November 2017 as I was looking for a nursing home for my husband who has Parkinson's and had been in the hospital. The welcome we received was most reassuring and supportive as it was a huge change to our lives.
All our questions were answered and we went on the waiting
list. A room became available in January 2018 and my husbands care plan was swiftly put in place and added to our first couple of weeks. We were encouraged to ask questions and highlight any concerns. We met the GP and other specialists within the 1st three weeks (e.g. podiatry and speech therapists).

Elaine

Elaine Berry

Job Title: Manager

Elaine has been a care home manager in excess of 30 years, she is a registered mental health nurse, who has worked in both hospital acute settings and community and care homes. When Elaine started with Belsize she was the Peripatetic manager for Fife and then took on the role of permanent manager in Earlsferry House.


Elaine is a mother and grandmother and dedicates her time when free to her family. She believes in supporting her staff to progress with their careers and get the best from them, providing best practices for all our residents and their families. Elaine aims for very high standards within her care setting and is a very proud manager.

Hi, I am Cathy and have been working in Earlsferry since 2019, I started as a senior carer and progressed throughout the years up to deputy manager My ethos is very much about best practices and ensuring my resident's needs are met, I see myself as a very passionate and positive person with a lot to give, I am also passionate regarding my staff and manager as well as being an open book to my families.


I have a daughter and three grandchildren, who live in England so look forward to my Facetime with all of them, to keep me up to date on their day-to-day activities.
