Angusfield House Care Home provides nursing, dementia, and palliative care and is located in Aberdeen's West End, close to shops and public transport.

Residents are less than two miles from the city centre and just half a mile from Hazelhead Park.

This attractive building has been adapted as a nursing home and has a purpose-built extension that provides nursing and social care.

Accommodation at Angusfield House is provided in single occupancy rooms, some of which are spacious enough for sharing.

Angusfield House features TV lounges and a quiet sitting room for relaxation and separate dining rooms, where residents can socialise at meal times are also available.

Traditional home cooking using fresh produce is served with residents being able to select from the choices available daily. Special diets can be catered for.

A good range of activities are offered for residents. The home can arrange for chiropody and dental services if required. Regular visits are made to the home by an experienced hair stylist.

All staff very friendly always a warm welcome when we come in. I have got to know most of the patients in the care home always cheery wave to them all. My sister has adapted well in this home.

I have always been impressed with the level of care afforded to my dad. He has been in the care of Angusfield House for two years. Dad is cared for by a fantastic team. As a family, we have been regularly consulted at all times when appropriate. I think that the small number of residents means that
a family feel is maintained. Family members are always welcome.

After joining the care home's social media page and being able to see what they do for the residents is over and above when we are at work and unable to visit. Seeing the happiness on the residents' faces in the photos and how the carers engage to make it fun for them. My mother-in-law was a very poor
eater due to having issues with her teeth but Angusfield has encouraged her in every way possible giving her soups that she loves and pureeing things she would find difficult to eat. She is always smartly dressed and very clean and tidy every time we go in. We always get lots of cuddles and smiles which shows how happy and content she is as she is unable to communicate properly with her Dementia. All staff are very welcoming and do their very best for the residents. We have seen the way they have welcomed new residents recently being very reassuring to them as they settle into a new environment. I am glad my Mother-in-law is so settled and loves the carers having fun with her.

Angusfield is an excellent home. All the staff here are excellent. Both my brother and his wife are in this home and they really do their best for them both to be together although they are in separate units. Myself and their family are extremely happy with how they are cared for.

On 2nd September the resident had a nasty fall. The care provided by Angusfield House Care Home in these accidental circumstances was excellent. The resident was examined and a decision was made for him to go to hospital. The home manager called me straight away to let me know and then called the resident's
wife and niece. He kept me informed throughout the day, despite having other duties. One member of staff went to hospital and sat for five hours in an ambulance with the resident. The manager also arranged for a taxi to collect the resident which avoided a long wait for an ambulance. Very impressed and grateful for the care provided. Very relieved as I'm so far away.

My mum has always had the best of care from the most lovely and caring staff that you could wish for. They make a world of difference. It is always difficult to leave when visiting, but I know she is at home and is not treated as a resident, but as family.

Generally very happy with the staff, and one member of staff in particular - she seems to work with my dad very well and often makes him laugh. Might be an idea to have a family review meeting once every 3/6 months as sometimes feel not sure how he is generally.

Bob Fenwick

Job Title: Home Manager

Bob has been working in care for over 20 years. He is a registered psychiatric nurse and a registered general nurse who has long-term service within care. Following graduating from university, he worked as a nursing assistant in a psychiatric hospital. He enjoyed it so much that he decided that this would be his career. He loves building a good team as he believes this is the foundation of excellent care.


Outside of work he is an avid cyclist and loves listening to music. Some of Bob’s proudest and most impressive achievements include parachuting out of a plane, white water rafting down the Zambezi River and seeing the sunrise on top of Mount Sinai. He is a firm believer in facing problems head-on and getting things done.
