Mum was only in Burnside but the difference in her skin and overall health was incredible, the carers and nurses were genuine and very caring, she was warm and well fed. During her final days the staff were wonderful to mum and also looked after me, made sure I was holding up. It's very difficult to
choose a care home for your mum but I am glad I chose Burnside.

Visited Dad on an "open day". There was entertainment which was age group appropriate. All relatives were invited to join residents for a "high tea" which I have to say was exceptional! All the staff from management, carers, activities staff and catering have really done themselves proud. Even off duty
staff were there, which all adds to the "family feel" which is evident here. Extremely happy with the care given.

Very welcoming environment, safe made to feel part of an extended family. Cater for needs of spouse makes transition easier. Rooms comfortable, clean and warm. Friendly staff.

Our mum was only in the home for a very short time but the care given to mum was outstanding all the staff were so friendly and ready to help or answer any question that we had for them. The home is not only comfortable for the resident but also the family visiting. When we were looking for a nursing
home for mum we looked at a few different ones and Burnside came out at the top of our list, we were made most welcome as soon as we walked in on our first visit and the manager took the time to explain all about the home and show us all over the home. Burnside is so well kept clean tidy with very nice gardens for the residents and family's to sit out in. Burnside would be the first place I would recommend to anyone looking for a home from home with excellent care for their loved ones.

My mother was a resident for nearly six weeks after falling and breaking her hip. When she arrived she was frightened and had lost her confidence. From day one she was treated like an individual and without exception all the staff were friendly, helpful and encouraged her to walk further each day. Her
room was lovely and had all the equipment needed to aid her recovery, the food was always well cooked and nutritious and she ate well and regained her strength.
I cannot recommend Burnside highly enough and would like to thank all the staff who made my mother's stay beneficial to her well-being and enjoyable.

My father moved into Burnside when he was unable to live at home and required 24 hour care he was a very fun loving person who loved life and even after having his stroke he remained positive. The staff in Burnside made him welcome and cared for him as if he was one of their own and he wanted for nothing
The family and his many visitors were always made welcome and he was able to live his life in a safe happy environment looked after by people who genuinely cared.

When I arrived here 2 weeks ago from hospital in Dundee. I was reluctant to go home and it was arranged for me to come here where I had help with washing and toilet and a nice room to myself. My first week I did a lot of rest with my legs up. My second week I got into the habit of making my own breakfast
and as much walking as possible. The hospitality here is first class in my eyes and everyone is so nice. Staff wise nothing is a bother. I will certainly recommend the home to anyone in the same position as myself.

After my gran had a short spell in hospital, we realised as a family gran would no longer manage at home alone. She was to move to my in-laws but before that gran went to Burnside. The first week she was there, gran was a new person, happy, chatty, alert and just enjoying life. The staff were top notch!
The second week gran was there she took ill and sadly passed away. We couldn't of asked for a better team of nurses/carers/cleaners, as a family we wanted for nothing, the ream at Burnside looked after gran but also made sure we had everything we needed. We will never be able to thank them enough!

Marion

Marion Gordon

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 1990

Marion is one of Silverline Care’s longest-serving team members, having joined Burnside Care Home when it first opened in 1990. Marion started as an enrolled nurse then went on to do her diploma in Nursing.


Marion says she is very happy to be part of Silverline, a very caring company with a clear vision.
She added: “Being a home manager is a very tough job at times but one which can be very rewarding. At Silverline Care, we act with integrity towards all of our residents and we are constantly sharing ways to achieve excellence with our other homes in Scotland and Yorkshire.”
