Crimond House is a high quality, personalised nursing care for older people, including those with dementia and other related conditions.

The home offers 54 fully furnished en-suite bedrooms finished to exceptionally high standards. There is also some of the latest technology to ensure the safety, well-being, and mobility of residents, allowing them to retain as much of their independence as possible.

Crimond House is committed to developing a relaxed and happy home where people enjoy living and working. They offer residents a variety of activities that can be tailored to their needs to ensure they can socialise and continue to enjoy hobbies.

There are seven spacious lounge/dining areas so residents can choose where to enjoy the nutritious meals prepared by the highly skilled catering team.

The landscaped gardens are safe, secure and easily accessible, providing an attractive area to sit and relax or enjoy a spot of gardening. Residents can also choose to pop into the hairdressing and beauty salon for a spot of pampering.

Provision of first class care encourages residents, and their families, to participate in the home’s commitment to quality and become fully involved at all stages of care planning, as well as many other aspects of care home life.

There is access to paramedical staff, including physiotherapists and podiatrists, and there is full medical support from local GPs, the local hospital and the Community Mental Health Team. The home is conveniently located in Crimond, close to local shops and amenities.

The facilities, ambience and staff are all very good. I think dad has calmed down latterly but I can only praise Crimond House and staff very highly as I know how my dad can be quite a handful!

The staff are all very good and helpful and have a good interaction with my mother. It is such a relief to know she is in a safe place and being looked after. The Covid situation has been handled very efficiently.

My son has only been here for six weeks but they (staff) have quickly known his needs, likes and dislikes which is reassuring to know because of his lack of vocabulary and communication skills. Encouraged to phone and enquire how his day has been if haven't visited. Staff are welcoming and nothing seems
too much trouble and if I've queried anything, it's been dealt with promptly. Can't comment on facilities, activities or food and drink because my son is peg fed and so has limited meals but the ones I have seen look lovely.

After being the sole carer for my spouse for 19 months, I was very relieved for him to be given a room in Crimond House Care Home.
The staff have been very sympathetic and extremely helpful. Not only the care staff but also the domestic staff and with special thanks to the handyman. Nothing is too
much (or too little) trouble.
The rooms are always clean and tidy, laundry is promptly dealt with and returned in good fashion. The food is good. The staff are friendly. It all made it easy for my husband to settle in and for me to feel comfortable with the situation.

Inconsistent care. Okay for spells but unfortunately experienced unacceptable lapses in care. This takes its toll on the resident and family.
In my opinion not enough staff. Definitely do not recommend as same problems kept cropping up.

We have reflected on this complaint and have worked hard to restore confidence in the service provided at Crimond House. This has resulted in a positive Care Inspectorate inspection very recently, and a grade increase.
Whilst we are disappointed that we could not meet the expectations of this relative, we continue to focus on and promote collaborative working to ensure high standards of care for our residents. Our new Home Manager is very committed and will support Crimond House to go from strength to strength as we move forward.

Mum is receiving a good high standard of care from the staff, all the staff from domestic cleaners to activities and maintenance. A good variety of activities and live entertainer at least once per week.
I see that staff are called in for training days which is good not only for the staff but improves
the care given to my mum.

Both my parents are in care. They are very happy and the staff are excellent. I live three hours away but I'm kept informed of any problems at all times. Very caring staff my parents are treated like family. If I have any questions or concerns they are dealt with right away. I would recommend this care

I have been visiting my Uncle since October 2017 when he moved into Crimond House. I have found the staff very helpful, caring and pleasant. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I have had challenging times with his health and the staff have all been very supportive and done everything possible to help
my Uncle. I honestly can't fault the staff and I am always made welcome.

Having viewed other care homes in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire, we were immediately impressed with Crimond and very relieved that my parents were offered residency. Management and staff are very understanding and they ensured that the move for my parents was smooth and handled very professionally. Any issues
we raise are handled quickly and we are also kept well informed of any medical or personal issues that require action. My Parents are very happy and feel well looked after at Crimond and that is very important.

As my mother is in care at Crimond House Care Home for 6 weeks emergency respite I feel that the staff and facilities are good.


The staff endeavour to help with any queries if you ask them, however, there is a procedure to go through if you require any special needs of care if you do not ask them

they will not know.


I have found the care home pleasant and all the staff have been nice to my mother and try to keep her spirits up when there are times she is feeling down.


I find the facilities clean and tidy in circumstances which must be very hard to maintain at times however as mentioned the staff are always there to help if I ask.

At Crimond House Care Home all clients have an assessment prior to admission to ensure we can meet the potential clients' needs. On admission, staff meet with the client and family to ensure further information is provided to staff to help formulate their plan of care. Staff are moved about regularly so there is no continuity and they must spend most of their time reading care plans to update on residents care/medication etc...
I have been assured that issues would be put on mums file on the computer and later found out it was not done.
Although to be fair most
of the staff are always pleasant towards us and caring with mum, but there is a severe lack of communication.

We were extremely disappointed to receive this review, which we do not feel is typical of the overall care and attention our residents and relatives receive at Crimond House.


We actively encourage our stakeholders to utilise our complaints procedure if dissatisfied with any aspect of our service. Unfortunately, in this case, the complaints procedure was not followed.


We have since spoken with Sandra and apologised that her experience of Crimond House was not as it should have been. We have focussed on improving communication, and the feedback we have received indicates satisfaction with what has been implemented.


The care and wellbeing of our residents is always our highest priority, and we aim to ensure that our communication with families remains strong as we move forward.

I have worked for Meallmore since 2005. Working as a nurse and then progressing to a deputy manager.


I have a diploma in Adult nursing, HND in administration and SVQ level4 in leadership and management. I am extremely passionate about the care and support offered to the residents in Crimond.


I enjoy working at Crimond, spending time with the residents and working with a well-trained team.


I pride myself in ensuring residents receive the care they would like and activities that support them to feel happy and at home at Crimond.


Outside of work, I have two sons who are my life, spending my time with them, going on family holidays and socialising with friends.

I joined meal more in 2023. I have previously worked for another provider as an activities coordinator and this is what I enjoy doing the most.


I enjoy crafty work and being out in the community
I feel a buzz when I come to work in Crimond, and I enjoy what I am doing by bringing new adventures to the care home.


I am always happy to meet new residents, and find out about their likes, dislikes and anything new they would like to try. I make it my mission to make everyone smile and have fun living at Crimond.
