As my wife has only been in the care home for the short period of one week, I have not had much time to assess the home. However, what I have seen of it is very good, clean, tidy and very friendly staff who will do anything to help you and to make you feel at home. Cannot fault the place at all, my
wife has settled in well.

My aunt was transferred to Havencourt Care Home from Kincardine Community Hospital following a hospital admission for a fractured hip. My aunt lived in Inverbervie all her 90 years and became a bit unsettled after a few months at Havencourt Care Home as she decided that she wanted to go 'home'. She
was transferred to Castle Lodge on the 16th August 2016 and immediately recognised three ladies who she had known for many years when she lived in Inverbevie. My aunt and myself have nothing but the highest regard for the Havencourt Care Home staff who looked after her with excellent care but I'm confident my aunt will have many happy times in Castle Lodge, now she's 'home'.

I arrived here yesterday for rehabilitation. I have had four meals and have enjoyed them because they weren't over facing me with large portions. I generally am a poor eater, but I enjoyed the portions that were served up to an invalid.

I stayed for restbite care for 13 days. I was very impressed by the care I had. The staff were excellent, caring, smiling and requests made were attended to. Nothing was too much trouble to them. I could thoroughly recommend Havencourt as a home for anyone in their later years. So clean and well kept
rooms with many personal, homely details.

All staff were polite and respectful to Mum. They treated her with dignity and met her needs. I have nothing but praise for the staff at Havencourt who work in what sometimes can be very difficult and awkward situations. Congratulations once again tot he staff in the dedication shown to the elderly
placed in their care.

Very happy with the care my mother received. The staff are very kind and caring and showed a lot of respect and compassion in her time there. The rooms were spacious and clean. We were content leaving my mother there knowing she was well looked after.

The resident had lived independently until into his late nineties, quite suddenly realizing that he needed much more living support. The family, in discussion with his doctor and social services, recommend Havencourt as a respite provider, leaving the resident to decide if he would like to stay at
Havencourt, or look further for long term care.

It took very little time for him to decide to select Havencourt as the long term care home. Havencourt fulfilled his desire for warmth, company and hot food, three things that we all take for granted, but sadly miss if informal help from friends and family can no longer meet the need, much as they wished to help him maintain his independence.

The staff were excellent, he loved the food and enjoyed mixing with other residents at mealtimes when he wanted to. He told family members that he regretted he hadn't moved into Havencourt sooner.

The staff were always kind to my father in law and helpful to us.

The home had a pleasant environment, morale of staff and residents seemed to be very good.

My Mother-in-Law, stayed for 3 months at Havencourt in Stonehaven. We were very impressed by the standard of care she received. In particular the staff were friendly, professional, dedicated and conscientious. They provided care of a very high level. They were compassionate and we couldn't fault them.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.533)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.533) out of 10 for Havencourt Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.781 for Havencourt Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.781

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.752 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Havencourt Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.952

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
