Situated in the coastal town of Cruden Bay, Bayview Care Home is a purpose-built care home, offering a wonderful home from home experience to its residents.

Bayview's team of professional and experienced registered nurses and care workers provide personalised nursing care to the elderly, including those with dementia and other health conditions.

Bayview offers 30 fully furnished en suite bedrooms, finished to exceptionally high standards. There are four spacious lounge and dining areas where residents can choose to enjoy their meals, cooked by an award-winning catering team (NACC Award 2020) or have some quiet time.

There are landscaped gardens which are safe, secure and accessible, offering residents an attractive area to sit and relax. Offering residents a varied programme of activities that can be tailored to suit individual needs, the team at Bayview support residents, encouraging them to socialise and continue their hobbies.

Bayview Care Home has access to various healthcare professionals in the local area, such as GPs, hospitals, and Community Mental Health Teams.

  • Visitors are welcome at any time to the home and always made very welcome. The home has access to the kitchenettes for visitors to make refreshments and have a tea and chat with those they are visiting and on request staff can assist visitors and those whom they are visiting to a quiet area so they can have quality time with them. Staff are always willing to assist and the manager's door is always open if anyone wishes to talk with her.

  • There is a car park to the front of the home, the driveway looks to be small but there is room for a car to get through and a van. There is also parking on Prospect Terrace but please remember that there are house on this terrace and they require access to their homes so please do not park in front of gateways please.

Mum's needs are sufficiently met at Bayview. Staff are also very kind and caring towards my Dad when he visits Mum.

Overall pleased with the care in the home. Because there have been no events organised during January, I feel the residents are not getting enough stimulation - this should hopefully change as a new events organiser has just started!

Mum has been here for five years and has had great care and attention. She is now 95 and needs more support but is very independent, which the staff are very aware and good with.

My sister has Alzheimer’s/dementia. Initially, she was in a home elsewhere, but the care and attention towards the residents was not what I expected, so in August last year she was transferred to Bayview. The care she is receiving at Bayview from all staff is so much better, that she settled in so quickly
and seems much happier. The staff are all very friendly towards residents and visitors. The management and nurses always keep me informed on my sister’s health and care. The accommodation is good and well-maintained. To date, I have great respect for all involved in the running of Bayview Care Home in Cruden Bay.

This care home is looking after our mum well, it is not easy to talk with Mum but she does tell us she likes this place and she is happy here. The care home is a bit away from the three of us and we don't see the everyday things that go there, but she is happy and it's for her.

Both my parents became residents of Bayview Christmas 2021. They had differing needs but were cared for and looked after by all the staff. In the early stages difficulties were addressed and resolved, resulting in both settling well into their new home together. Sadly Dad passed away Christmas 2022.
Mum continues to be a resident at Bayview, she is well cared for, very settled and content. The staff are always welcoming when I visit, and I am kept well informed of Mum's needs and any medical concerns. There is a range of activities, and the resident's wishes are always sought to the best of the resident's ability. The food looks excellent, I often visit at afternoon tea and cake time! Bayview is very homely, and it is good to always recognise familiar staff.

I’m proud to have been part of the Meallmore family for over 10 years, and stepping into the role of Home Manager at Bayview Care Home feels like the next exciting chapter in my journey. My time with Meallmore has been all about dedication, growth, and building strong relationships with both residents and colleagues.


Having spent years working closely with the Aberdeenshire team, I’ve developed a deep understanding of what it takes to create a warm, caring environment that feels like home. My passion for providing person-centred care has always driven me, and I’m committed to ensuring that every resident at Bayview experiences dignity, respect, and quality care at every stage of life.
