When our mother was first put in the home I thought we were doing her an injustice, not a very nice place for what they were charging. Then new management happened and the place was transformed. Money being spent and new staff employed. Big difference but still a way to go, but I'm sure this will be
achieved. Lockdown has done Cathay Care Home no favours but the staff have shown what can be done under pressure.

We are moving into Moray in the next few months and took the decision to move my grandmother from another care home so she can be nearer to us. From the initial phone call I made inquiring about a transfer, to the showing me around, everyone was so helpful and reassuring. The transition from one care
home to the other was dealt with very smoothly. My grandmother settled in, in no time at all. The staff are very tuned in to her needs. The fact that there is an activity coordinator there every day is just wonderful. I am very happy with the level of care my grandmother receives. Thank you to you all.

The reception staff are incredibly welcoming, helpful and engage with Mum. Mum is very happy, settled and well cared for by all the staff. The staff know Mum well and her needs are well met. There is a range of communication methods with relatives - Facebook, Zoom and a newsletter. The environment is
clean, calm and attractive.

I was nervous letting others take care of Mum as I had done it myself for twenty years. I need not have worried, the care Mum has received has been first-rate. The staff are not only professional but compassionate, helpful and patient and I mean all of the staff. Mum settled in quickly and is content,
happy and I feel confident that she is in good hands.

We are glad we chose this home for my mum. She has settled in so easily in her freshly painted room, with all her own pictures, photos and possessions around her. There have been plenty of themed events to stimulate her interest. In quiet moments she can look out over the garden and watch the birds
at the feeders. I feel confident the staff take good care of her, she enjoys her meals. The home has a good atmosphere and she enjoys being there.

It was difficult to choose a care home during the pandemic but I found the manager and entire staff very helpful and open to answering my questions. The home, recently refurbished, is bright, fresh and airy. My mother-in-law tells us 'the food and home baking is lovely'. She is always clean and well
dressed and we are able to see her and what she's up to on Facebook as well as during visits, with Covid measures in place. She has been encouraged to mix and make new friends and is engaging in the varied activities provided. How lovely to go out in the minibus to appreciate the autumn colour of the changing leaves! Our family can relax knowing she is so well cared for.

Two of my relatives moved into Cathay during the Pandemic. This was an incredibly worrying and difficult time. The staff have been limited with how much they could do showing us around the home etc however they have done their utmost to ensure our relatives have settled and we are happy. One of our
relatives has been extremely poorly on palliative care and we have been allowed inside with temperature checks, lots of PPE etc. The staff have been chatty and happy to reassure us. Was fish and chips for tea today and it smelled amazing. There have been delicious looking cakes and brownies on offer. Rooms are warm and cosy with special air mattress toppers available and regularly changed bedding, nightclothes, etc. The other residents look happy and cared for and included. Such a difficult time for everyone but the staff are doing their very best.

My granda has been in Cathay Care Home since the beginning of March 2020. He suffers from vascular dementia and from day one the staff and the home manager have been so good with him. Helping us see him at the window, reading out letters I've written to my granda. He has always been kept well cared
for. The staff really make an effort with the residents and get to know them and treat them as people rather than just patients. I can't thank you enough for taking care of my granda. You guys do the best job.

The manager and her team are so efficient providing excellent care for residents and giving great support to family members. My mum only spent a few months in Cathay Care Home, but the staff kept us up to date with her condition by phone calls. Nothing was too much bother for the staff.
