When it became inevitable that mum needed to go into a care home, I just put off visiting Home Farm, because I didn't want to accept mum going into care. However, I know I had to make the visit so with great trepidation, I went along.

The first thing I noticed was the warm friendly atmosphere, plus

it did not have that 'old folks home' smell! The staff were so attentive to both me and the residents, and the genuine care was very evident. I came away haveing been so reassured by what I saw and my chat with the home leader and staff, that I was in absolutely no doubt about mum being a resident.

As the only nursing home on Skye, Home Farm is an essential safety net. As a carer it provided respite and day care support which enabled me to continue to meet my partner's needs at home for as long as possible. Home Farm is required to meet a wide range of needs and the staff do the best they can
to meet the constant and ongoing changing demands. I have maintained contact with the staff team since my partner moved to residential specialist dementia care provision as I feel it is very important that this invaluable resource and the staff who work there are recognised. Thank you for all you do.

The care provided is beyond reproach and it is a great relief and comfort to me to know that my wife is receiving such care.
