Moss Park Care Home, situated in the lovely village of Caol, Fort William, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

The lovely home offers many facilities for residents to enjoy such as on-site hair salon, landscaped gardens and summer house perfect for relaxing in the warmer months. The enhanced wellbeing programme allows residents to pursue hobbies and interests whilst learning new skills.

From care assistants and nurses, to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to support you or your loved one. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the home manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives at Moss Park.

The dedicated care team at Moss Park likes to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting those living in the home to enjoy the things they love most. From building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools, to arranging sightseeing trips in the local area, at Moss Park, the team encourages residents to take an active role in the Fort William community.

Caring staff, great loving manager, cosy, lovely garden, good nursing home. Understanding with relatives, calmly dealing with any situation, great chef. Relaxed atmosphere. A sense of humour.
Care staff are on quite a low pay for such a hard job and the skills they need to carry it out! More pay would
keep their staff instead of having to train new staff when they move jobs for higher wages available in the care sector.

Thank you for your very kind comments about Moss Park and the care provided there. We do try to be competitive with wages and I am pleased to say that we have agreed to adopt the Scottish Living Wage for our care staff effective from 1st October 2016.

My father stayed at 'Moss Park Care Home' for the last 10 months of his life with dementia. He was from Yorkshire. I was always greeted with friendly, professional kindness by all members of staff. I cannot recommend highly enough the leadership from the management and nursing team. My father was cared
for as an individual with respect and dignity during his stay until his death at 'Moss Park Care Home'.

I am very pleased with the care my aunt has received since entering 'Moss Park Care Home' 11 months ago. The carers and management have been very helpful at all times. My aunt is very happy there.

My mother stayed here for 2 weeks respite in July. We were greeted at the entrance by a friendly smiling member of staff and shown to Mum's room. There we were served a pot of tea while we did the admin (very thorough questions, all of her needs/likes/dislikes). It was a ground floor room with a nice
view and en suite. Very near to where the communal areas were. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and pictures etc very decorative. I noticed the staff photos with names too.
We were shown round, my mum was interested to see the dining room (all set for dinner) and the menus on the tables. She has dementia so not able to do a review or form an opinion but I myself was very impressed. All the staff I saw were cheerful and busy and clean! My mum came back with a nice haircut, fingernails well trimmed and clothes all fresh and clean. I was also happy to see they have a minibus here and have outings.

Eilidh

Eilidh Kerr

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2014

As a Registered Nurse, Eilidh has gained many years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for the company for a number of years, Eilidh closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident.


She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Moss Park.


When asked what she enjoys most about
her role, Eilidh remarked:“I love working closely with my colleagues for the benefit of our
Residents.”


Away from work, Eilidh enjoys reading, gardening, historical dramas and sci-fi movies.
