I'd like to highly recommend all of the staff, carers and nurses, at Lammermuir House. Before the outbreak of Covid-19, I'd always been impressed by their kindness and dedication, but since the start of this pandemic, they have been exceptional in their care for my mother and all the other residents.
They have not only looked after them like family, but they have also kept us all informed both by email newsletters and by publishing updates and photographs on the social media page so that we can see our loved ones when we cannot visit. They have kept them all very safe and thankfully have had no Covid cases in the home, which is a great achievement given the difficulties in managing the many risks involved. I cannot thank them enough for making this worrying time that bit easier for us all. My love and best wishes to you all until we meet again.

Dad has come on in leaps and bounds since joining Lammermuir Care Home in December 2019, and that is solely down to the attention and interaction by the whole team there.
In recent times with the concerns over the Covid-19 Pandemic, it’s reassuring to know all the residents are being well looked after
and when issues have arisen that they have been attended to swiftly.
That helps us as a family to understand Dad is being well catered and cared for.

Lammermuir House is a lovely large care home with excellent staff. The gardens are safe and enclosed with beautiful sea views. Rooms are spacious and en-suite. Residents are free to move around, and then when they are at the stage when they can’t, they are cared for attentively.
I can’t stress enough
how well our Mum has been cared for, and she’s not been the easiest resident to deal with. The staff are caring, considerate, respectful and attentive.
Our Mum is now in the last stage of life, and despite the lockdown from Covid-19, we are kept informed and know that she is cared for by those she recognises and we can’t appreciate the staff enough.

Mum has a lovely room and is being well cared for by friendly and caring staff. She moved into the home in February and seems happy there. They have a great location with lovely views and gardens, a good activities program and multiple sitting areas for residents.
Now that we are in the lockdown,
we get regular communications and reassurance about the Covid-19 measures in place. We are able to call, and video call Mum. There are also lots of photos on their social media page showing activities, celebrations and showing Mum and others going for walks in the garden.

The home has a pleasant and relaxed environment. Staff are kind, caring and very competent. They get on well with each other which adds to the pleasant atmosphere. I have no doubt that my wife is being well looked after. My daily visits are always welcome. My wife is always clean and dressed in clean
clothes. Having visited several other homes in this area, I am sure I made the right choice.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.687)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.687) out of 10 for Lammermuir House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.849 for Lammermuir House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.849

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.838 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lammermuir House Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.6 = 0.938

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
