I find the care my sister is receiving up to this date is really more than good. The entire staff treat her very well. Also, the carers and cleaning staff are kind and cheerful. The work they have to do must be very stressful and they deserve all the credit they get. All our family thank you very much.

I was very pleased with the nursing care given to my partner while in the care of Heatherfield. The staff were all professional but approachable at the same time. The care home is very clean as are the rooms.

The staff are the best asset here. Always friendly and approachable. They have shown my aunt nothing but respect and treated here always with dignity.
The food is of a high standard with good choices.
Always clean and fresh smelling.
Feel the rooms are a bit dated and could be upgraded but always
maintained to a good standard. Very happy with my aunt being here.

Delighted with the progress in my wife since arriving at Heatherfield in February 2018.
Staff all very well presented, very kind, my wife has no ill words for anyone.
The room is brilliant. Delighted that catheter has been removed. My wife feels better too. Great that I can bring wee Lucky, my wife's
pup, in to see her.
I would definitely recommend Heatherfield to anyone's family member for care. Very attentive, spotless and easy to talk to (all staff).

Whenever I visit my papa he’s clean and tidy. Always fed and watered.
There’s always a carer nearby.
The only issue has been items going missing after going to laundry, but overall, he’s happy and cared for.

I am happy with the way my husband is being looked after. The carers are very pleasant to us when we visit. One concern I have is that they are left in the sitting room with no carers, surely there should be one beside them.

Everything about the home is excellent and all the staff, from manager to domestic help, are kind, considerate and helpful - and competent.
Mum has been in the frail elderly unit since May 2012. She is now more or less blind and very deaf and can only shuffle a few yards on her Zimmer, so doesn't
participate in communal activities.
What she does enjoy is one to one chats with anyone who comes to her room - be it the nurse or the laundry lady. She feels secure, knowing that residents with dementia can't wander around freely, so can't invade her room - she had a nasty experience in respite elsewhere, a while before she came to Heatherfield.

This is the first time that I have been in Heatherfield, and what a wonderful place it is, everybody is very nice and my aunt is very well looked after, it took her a wee while to get used to her new home, but she has settled in now, this was all brought about by the wonderful staff who work there.

I am very happy with the care my father receives in Heatherfield. The nurses and carers have a great relationship with him, he is well looked after and his health is closely monitored. The facilities are also great, his room is large and airy and the place is very clean on the whole.

My wife was a resident in another home before moving to Heatherfield. The difference is night and day. I cannot find fault whatsoever.

Having viewed a number of Care Homes, prior to selecting Heatherfield, my decision to select this as a care home for my mother was an easy choice to make.
During my initial visit, I liked how the areas for the residents were arranged into small groups. The management and staff were friendly and caring
to both the residents and visitors.

Over the 5 months that my mum has been a resident, I find visiting a pleasure as I am always made welcome and receive an update on my mum's health and any needs that arise for her well-being.

The recent addition of an activities coordinator will hopefully increase the stimulation levels for the residents.

The unit reflects practice which is centred on the individual, which asks for and acts on stated wishes, and which respects differences in needs and wishes.
It deals well with medical issues, but also care and social needs. It is involved in the locality from which most of its residents come and encourages
input from the community from families and local groups (eg dancing, musical groups).
The unit has involved local community services for my mother -dentist, optician etc, appropriately, and have sought local GPs involvement -reassuring in that the GP was my mothers when she lived at home.

The home, I use the word home because that what it is for my mother.
The staff respect her wishes and her dignity at all times.

The food is varied, helped to eat if required is available. If you do not wish to take part in any of the activities, that is fine.

Overall the best home round here. Good staff, clean and patients well catered for. My mum has been a resident there for 6 years and she is happy with the care that she receives. Been a few changes over the years but settled now with good staff.

I find Heatherfeild care facility clean and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There are activities and entertainment for residents who are able to participate and staff are happy to interact with residents when time and duties allow i.e. play dominoes.

My mum is 91 and had been moved several times in a short period and when she saw Heatherfield she was looking forward to moving there. The nurses and carers really look after her. She has settled in well and has connected with many of the carers and nurses.

The activities taking place certainly have

encouraged her to connect with other residents.

I certainly feel that the care she is getting has put the family's mind at ease as she now has constant care and company that she needs.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.186)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.186) out of 10 for Heatherfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.719 for Heatherfield is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.719

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.467 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Heatherfield is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.667

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
