The Manager is an absolute star, answered all my questions and put me at ease with my concerns. Showed me around the facilities. Great staff. All very friendly. Nothing is too much bother. I also like that I can pop in any time without warning and when I have, everyone has been at the top of their game.
First class care for my Mum thus far.

All the staff I have had contact with had been extremely caring, helpful, friendly and interacted well with my mum and dealt with her with dignity and respect.
My one concern is that there appears not to be enough staff to allow them time to sit with residents for a chat, particularly at bedtime and
during the night if residents need the toilet.

My mother has Alzheimer's and is very well cared for at Belleaire. The staff work hard to ensure that she is safe, happy and healthy. They take the time ti deliver care in a way that she can accept. This is not always easy! The encourage her to participate in activities and think of ways of enriching
her day. everyone is always welcoming and friendly, with time to talk to and reassure relatives. I am very grateful for the hard work they do, every day.

My mum has liked being in Belleaire House from day one. The staff are caring and attentive. All of her needs are taken care of. If there are any medical problems with my mum I am informed immediately. Entertainment is provided which my mum always enjoys and participates in.

My mother has been a resident for almost three months now and in that time I feel that every effort has been made by all members of staff to get to know my mother, which in turn has allowed them to meet her needs effortlessly. Staff and management are also extremely friendly and approachable, no question
is too big or too little. I feel the staff at this care home want the best quality of life for my mother and are currently working hard to find the right balance of medication to allow this to happen. Overall a lovely relaxed homely environment that family and residents are allowed to feel welcome and cared for at all times.

Every member of staff has shown a friendly, yet professional way of working. Every individual has been very helpful when we have had queries. My mother (a resident at the home) responds well to all the staff and lights up when they talk to her. She is keen to tell me and also my sisters how much she
likes the home and the people working there. The standards of cleanliness are high and there is, more often than not, cleaning staff carrying out their duties. My mother's bedroom and bathroom are always spotless. Mum also has a beautiful view outside her window. The family is very happy with the care home.

From the first day my mum came in she brightened up. We as a family have been very pleased with the care of my mum. The staff have been great and at the end were amazing to my mum but also us as a family. Well done all.

My dad spent just under six months at Belleaire House following a major stroke. This was a massive decision for us as a family to put Dad into a nursing home as he always lived such an independent lifestyle. With this in mind, the perfect nursing home for Dad was a must.
Belleaire was my first choice
of home primarily due to the stunning view of the Clyde but also the staff. From management to the care workers, my dad was treated with dignity and respect as were the family, keeping us informed of any changes to his health. I visited every day and I was extremely happy with how my dad was, he bonded brilliantly with the staff and that was important to us. Visiting nearly every day, the staff become like family and close friends however, unfortunately, Dad passed away and his time at Belleaire was short lived. We cannot thank the staff enough for everything you've done for my dad. I know he will be looking down as proud as punch- just like us. Thanks again.

I feel my husband is well cared for, but one day he wore a jumper which wasn't his with holes on both shoulders. I complained and it was noted.

I would like my husband to be taken out. He has been in since September 2018 and this hasn't happened yet.

He is good on his feet and only 4 are taken

out, some in wheelchairs so I feel that this should be OK as 2 people go out with 4 residents.

Reply from Avril McFarlane, Deputy Manager at Belleaire House Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review for Belleaire. I am very pleased to hear that you feel that your husband is well care for. We strive to do our upmost to ensure that all our residents receive the best care.
We have noted you wished for your husband to be taken out on outings, and have ensured this has already taken place. You husband found this an enjoyable experience, and we will ensure this is a more regular occurrence. We are honoured to be in the position to care for your husband. Thank you again.

My husband has been a resident in Belleaire Care Home for over six years and has always been looked after with respect and kindness. For the last two years, he has been bedridden, he no is no longer able to feed himself, the kind and caring staff feed him all his food which is pureed normal food, he
also gets all his fluids. All nursing staff are there for everyone.

I have always found every time that I have visited my mum, the staff are always friendly and interacting with the residents no matter when I visit ie 'time'.
Also when they are doing activities they let their family members join in which is really good, that way we get to know the other residents.
My
mum has settled really well and this gives me and my family peace of mind knowing that she is getting excellent care.

Any time I have been to visit my mum at the lovely home it is very welcoming and the staff are always so friendly and very attentive to all the residents and this has made me feel very content that my mum is getting the best care that she deserves and all her needs are met and getting her involved in
activities, which is really good to see.

My mother was left lying in her own urine. At 10 am she hadn't had her breakfast the staff's excuse was "we were busy elsewhere also she attacked a member of staff". My sister was left to clean and dress mum, staff didn't offer assistance. This is a day before mum was due to change homes we as a family
feel really disgusted by their attitude whether it's our mum or anyone else's relative. Absolutely shocking. CQC next.

My mum has been in Belleaire House on two occasions for respite as she is no longer able to live independently. She settled in much better than expected which was due to the care, patience and understanding of all staff who looked after her. Mum's room and shower room has everything she could need therefore
she was very comfortable and content.

My Mum was still in bed at 10.00am, no staff around. Went to get Mum up myself, discovered she was wet and her bed was also wet through to the mattress. I have previous experience within care sector and know that this was not from an hour since the last check. When questioned staff response was, we
were busy doing other things and they had done a check an hour previously - she has said she was violent with staff.

Current Review Score: 8.0 (8.046)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (8.046) out of 10 for Belleaire House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.869 for Belleaire House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (24 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 3.869

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.177 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belleaire House Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.577

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
