Marchmont House Care Home provides residential and nursing care to up to 51 older people. Situated in a leafy residential area of Port Glasgow, residents benefit from excellent local amenities and transport links as well as stunning views over the River Clyde.

The home is a converted mansion house and features an onsite hairdressing salon and a library, as well as lounge and dining areas, a patio and garden. Each bedroom has telephone and television points and most have en-suite facilities.

The daily activities programme includes 1 to 1 and group activities, visiting entertainers and trips out in the home’s minibus. A daily menu provides a variety of choices at each meal, and residents can also enjoy snacks, high tea and home baking.

While recently visiting a close friend of my mum I was so happy with everything we saw when visiting. Firstly we were welcomed by some lovely carers who chatted with us and all the residents who they were caring for. Then we went to our friend's room which was clean, tidy, bright and homely, our friend
was so happy and content being in her wee room.
All areas that are communal for residents and visitors are warm and welcoming, clean and seem like a happy place to be. Our friend is able to walk on her own so she can come and go in the lounge as she wants but she knows that there is always someone there to check on her and look after her. A wee home from home.

My wife came to Marchmont House for two weeks to give me respite. The home and staff were very welcoming on arrival.
The home has good facilities and excellent staff. My wife was well cared for, and when we telephoned, the staff kept us fully informed as to how the stay was progressing. I would have
no hesitation in my wife returning to Marchmont House, or in recommending the home to others requiring care.

The staff and management have gone above and beyond in their care for my uncle. They are patient and attentive, providing a personalised approach to his care needs and are always open to feedback and working with relatives to resolve any problems.

Our brother has now been in Marchmont for a year, and we continue to be amazed by the level of care he receives. The manager and her staff know him well and meet his needs with a very high standard. They are attuned to his health complaints and know when he isn't too good. He continues to 'love' being
in Marchmont and readily tells everyone how 'brilliant' it is. As a family, we couldn't be happier. All the staff are friendly, approachable and always professional. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any family needing care, love and support for their loved one.

An outstanding care home managed and supported by amazing individuals who go above and beyond. The care, kindness and vigilance have provided so much comfort. I was somewhat apprehensive when my elderly relative had to move to a care home, a very big change in his life. However, he has settled in thanks
to the support of staff and facilities in managing this transition. All his needs are promptly taken care of. The staff are efficient, compassionate and caring with regard to both residents and their families. I have been included in all decisions of his care, and communication, in general, is excellent. I can only say a massive thank you to all concerned.

My mum was admitted over two years ago after my dad passed, she has dementia. I am very pleased with the nursing home and staff, they take really good care of my mum.
She has everything she needs, the staff are very friendly and welcoming when I visit and my mum is happy. Would highly recommend it.

Would just like to say a big thanks to the staff for the care they gave our mum and also for keeping us updated when the home was closed due to the virus. During this, my mum got sent to hospital, and they phoned straight away to tell us and also when she was back in and settled let us know how she
was, so thanks again much appreciated; you definitely go above and beyond.

My husband has been in Marchmont for almost three months. From day one when he was welcomed at the door on arrival from hospital, the staff have shown care and respect for him. They look after the residents extremely well and activities are enjoyed too. The food is excellent. I would have no hesitation
in recommending Marchmont to anyone considering a care home.

My mum and dad are both in Marchmount Carehome. The care they have both received is outstanding. The staff are so friendly and caring and very hands-on.
When we visit, Mum and Dad are always dressed and clean and tidy. The home is immaculately clean. Thanks staff for all your help and guidance.

I was welcomed in every way, the staff and management were very, very helpful and they helped me in more ways than I can imagine. I was needing a confidence booster and your management helped a lot. Your whole staff could not have done any better at making me feel welcomed. I would recommend this care

Since my uncle arrived here the care has been outstanding. I can not fault anything. My uncle has started drawing again and playing his guitar, he had not done this for a long time so that is a credit to the staff that he is comfortable and happy in his surroundings. The manager and the staff have also
made the family welcome too.

My brother was only 63 years old when he suffered a stroke, after initial treatment and partial recovery he was designated as a very vulnerable adult with limited capacity. He was referred for care, and after a meeting was offered a place at Marchmont House. This review covers our first impressions
and his first 10 days in residence. Our early experience was one of calm competency and very caring staff. The home itself is very clean and well-appointed, our worries about my brother's reaction were completely removed by his first hours in residence, he was very pleased with his room and how friendly the staff were in welcoming and putting him at rest. After his first week, he was very well-settled/happy in this environment. He was so pleased about the warmth and pleasant environment, his meals are very good and his facilities 1st class. We are very encouraged and relieved about how well he has settled.

My mother stayed in Marchmont House Care Home on discharge from hospital until a care package was arranged. Care is excellent and Mum was very happy. If one requires to go into care again the family will be happy to choose Marchmont again. Lovely staff.

All the staff are a very caring team. I am always greeted with a smile when visiting Marchmont House Care Home, it is a very friendly home. My wife is looked after in a very professional way. Her room is comfortable and spotless. I am glad I picked Marchmont albeit it is 15 miles away from where I live,
but I would not have it any other way as the home is a very happy place to be. The staff treat my wife with the greatest of dignity and respect, and she is always clean and tidy. I know that after each visit I can go home knowing that I have nothing to worry about with regard to her care as she is looked after at a very high standard.

I have a wealth of experience in Care Home Management, also within Health and Social Care Sector and I am also a Registered Mental Health Nurse. I am passionate about the quality of service we provide to the people who live here at Marchmont and in making sure that the care and support we provide is always delivered at the highest standard with kindness and compassion. Motivating my team and keeping their skills up to date is also vitally important as this enables good practice.
