Impossible to manage on her own, after a hip operation, mum moved into Inchinnan Care Home, in June 2024. She was welcomed with open arms. It took mum two weeks to get used to her new surroundings. Very much a loner, after over 20 years on her own, she was set in her ways. However, once settled, mum
came out of her shell and joined into the many activities offered at the home.

In Jan "25 mum's illness became worse and was sent to A&E with low oxygen levels. After time in hospital it was evident her treatment was not working. The staff asked for mum to return to the home, so they could look after her personal needs. They got her room ready for her return. Everything was so warm and cosy, after the stark hospital room. There was low music playing in the back ground. Mum was visibly happy to be back to her own surroundings. Mum passed away on 4th January. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was just right for mum right to the end. I appreciate everything they have done.

Delighted with the very high standard of care and compassion displayed towards my mum. She is treated like a Queen and all her needs are catered for 24/7. The cleanliness cannot be surpassed. The space is open and welcoming. Staff are fantastic. As a senior clinical health professional myself, I could
not fault any aspect of my mum's care. I return to Australia knowing she is safe, comfortable and most of all cared for like a family member. Cannot thank the staff at Littleinch Care Home enough.

My mum has been in this home for about 2 years. During this time there have been many changes in staff. Hopefully, the team who are currently in position will help to make this home a stimulating caring environment for all residents as unfortunately, the main thing lacking at the moment is stimulation
for the residents.

I wouldn't recommend this care home. When the lounge was crowded and there were no vacant chairs in the lounge, I found my mother very uncomfortable sitting in a wheelchair with no headrest for a nap. My mother was always really thirsty when I visited. I don't think she was given enough to drink and
she didn't have swallowing issues at that time. A year later, my mother became bedridden, I visited her for hours nearly every day. When I hand-fed my mother, I found the food low quality and not appetising. My mother had dementia and swallowing issues and needed smaller and more frequent snacks but these were never on offer because the kitchen was closed after meal times. My mother liked to drink a little and often but the staff never had time to offer my mother fluids in between teatime and meals. When I asked about my mother's 'food and fluid intake', I noticed at times it wasn't always recorded. I had to frequently prompt staff to reposition my bedridden mother due to a pressure sore.

As a family, our journey with our parents, both of them are in Inchinnan Care Home, has been a rollercoaster of emotions. The staff are amazing, they have taken the stress from us and taken exceptional care of our mum and dad. Regular updates, phone calls, photos and videos have been a lifesaver for
us. When we walked through the front door at Littleinch we knew Mum and Dad would be safe and cared for. A long journey is still ahead but we feel very supported.

My mother has only been in the home since the end of March 2023 and has settled in well. I feel that she is safe and cared for. She enjoys the company and the freedom for visitors to come and go. When the family selected Inchinnan Care Home it was in the knowledge that the new environment for residents
in line with their own ambitions and the needs of the care inspectorate. The management has had setbacks and their ambitions for this home continue to need work along with residents' regular stimulation.

I am a close friend of someone who has only recently become a resident. I have, therefore, only limited experience of the care provided. My friend has been welcomed into the care home and is responding well to her care. She is enjoying the food and the company and is much brighter than when she first
moved in. The manager and all staff treat her in a very friendly manner and with dignity.
I have no adverse comments.

Gran was initially here Oct '21 - Jan '22 and we were pleasantly surprised at how well she settled. In early January, with mixed emotions, she transferred to another nursing home as it had been highly recommended and she wished to stay in her hometown. This was an awful decision. I can wholeheartedly
say that Inchinnan outclassed the new place in every aspect. Gran was often tearful (not like her), agitated and looked unkempt. A few of the staff made us feel welcome and gran never felt like it was her home. Gran returned to Inchinnan permanently last week. The manager ensured the return was memorable and hitch-free. The staff made a fuss of her upon arrival and were ready to help in whatever way to bring her back to her old self – the way she left them in Jan. We've noticed a vast improvement in her appearance, stimulation, confidence to ask for support, and eating routines.
A huge thank you to every member of the team here who have their hearts in the right places. 10/10 from us.

My mother-in-law has just moved into the care home and so far we have been very impressed. Staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and all interactions with residents and staff we have witnessed are very caring. The reception area, dining room and lounges are bright and clean. Bedroom is spacious
and clean. My mother-in-law has settled in very well and looks like she is being well cared for.

Thank you for your review of Inchinnan Care Home. It's a tough decision coming into care and accepting such a major life change. Our aim is to make that change as reassuring as possible by making care and comfort a priority. It's a new chapter in life and opens up opportunities to meet other people and share experiences as well as continue the activities that filled the chapters before. Everyone at Inchinnan, residents, visitors and staff have been amazing in their efforts to keep spirits high and the virus at bay. It will be party time when restrictions are lifted!

Mum (86) has dementia and has been resident at Littleinch since November 2020, she has settled in very well and made a special friend.
Due to Covid-19 Dad and I have not been able to view for ourselves her room, and the facilities, so can't rate these fully, however from what I've seen it's a very
comfortable, spacious, attractive environment. On Facebook, it is heartening to see the residents participating in different activities and looking relaxed and happy.

I believe Mum is more engaged now because of the stimulation of more company, and more going on. I've been very impressed with the warmth and kindness of the staff who are looking after Mum so well, they have set my mind at ease both in person and if I've rung to ask about how she is. Staff clearly know the residents as individuals, providing families with lots of detailed information and insight about their loved one, and reassurance.

Thank you for your review which will be relayed to our staff. They work extremely hard to ensure the comfort and care of our residents is to a very high personal standard. It is therefore a pleasure to read such a positive review. Being on the front line of care is hard, but our staff also understand the heartache that restricted visiting means to family and friends who are the most important 'medicine' of all to our residents. Lets hope we get back to normal soon.

My younger brother has dementia. Prior to moving to Littleinch he was living in Sheltered Accommodation. From the beginning of lockdown last year I saw a big dip in his condition.
On 17th December he was admitted temporarily to Littleinch. Immediately I was impressed with the professionalism, friendliness
and manners of all the staff I dealt with. I have seen a big difference in his behaviour and demeanour.
He is mixing well with staff and other residents. I was so pleased with Littleinch that I requested his stay be made permanent. I was very happy when this was accepted. I would recommend Littleinch to anyone who is looking to place a loved one in a care home.

Thank you for your kind review. Dementia is a very cruel disease. The staff at Inchinnan are compassionate, caring and understand the distress this disease can cause the individual and their family and friends, the people who love them most. Your review is gracefully acknowledged.

My mother was moved to Inchinnan Care Home on the 25th January from sheltered housing due to her decreased condition, on arrival at Inchinnan we were met with two members of staff who were very friendly and made my mum feel at ease very quickly. This also made myself and my wife feel a lot better too,
while one of the staff took my mum's details another staff member spoke to my mum and made her feel welcomed and eased her fears about moving to a new home. While I can't really comment much more about the home itself due to current circumstances what I can say is on first impression this is a very well run home with caring staff and I feel my mum will be very happy here.

It's hard to give an honest opinion regarding ratings, but I can only praise all the staff for their excellent efforts to keep the home running under extremely difficult circumstances. I've been able to speak to my mum by mobile phone and on a video call, and have also watched recordings on social media.
She looks and sounds very happy in her new surroundings, which is down to the care and attention she gets from the staff. When things return to normal, I would be happy to complete the full survey. In the meantime; please take this as a 10/10 from me.

Hello Alan,
Thank you for your review of our care home, I'm always humbled by the unsolicited thanks given to our staff and I am immensely proud to be part of the team. The unsung care that goes on in care homes is in the spotlight of the media at the moment. Stories are highlighting the 'forgotten' side of care and is a timely reminder that you can enjoy a meaningful happy life in a care home despite disability. Thank you again.
Kind regards
Irvine Watson
Managing Director.

The staff were so helpful. They helped my husband settle in and looked after me. The place is so clean and tidy, the room is lovely and all the staff are so caring. When I went to visit, it just felt like coming home, that's why we picked it. Out of all the homes we had seen, this was truly the best.

Both my mother and uncle have been a resident in Littleinch Care Home. Sadly my mother passed away in April 2019. Her care was without fault during her last weeks she was cared for with compassion and respect. My uncle has been in Littleinch for over 2 years now and his care is also without fault lovely
calm caring staff who work well as a team.

My mum was in the home for 4 years, until December 2019. One of the first things the staff did when my mum moved in was to organise her 90th birthday party to make it special. Littleinch has been a second home to my mum and the staff were more like friends. The home is safe, welcoming and has a pleasant
garden including a pond with koi carp. During my mum's final days in the home, the staff and nurses could not have been more kind, to the extent of taking breaks in my mum's room so she had company while ill. I would like to thank the staff and management for the caring service they provided.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.704)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.704) out of 10 for Inchinnan Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.190 for Inchinnan Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.19

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.514 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Inchinnan Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.814

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
