My gran has been a resident here for over two years and sadly now is receiving end-of-life care.
The care she is getting is second to none, the staff are so attentive to both her needs and the family's.
The facilities that are on offer here at Erskine, for both residents and families are 5-star.

I would highly recommend Erskine care home, my dad went in there two and a half years ago and he felt right at home. From the minute he entered the premises, the staff were all extremely caring and couldn't do enough for dad while in their care.
I can't thank them enough for all the care and attention
they gave dad. The rooms were lovely, they had great entertainment and day trips. A great atmosphere, staff were always laughing and keeping the residents going. I can't give it enough praise. Thank you Erskine Home, you're amazing.

My dad has been in Ramsay house for over three years and the staff are amazing. He is looked after on a first-class basis. I would highly recommend the high care they give their residents. My dad is so happy being looked after there, which makes our family pleased. Rooms are clean and the grounds are
well maintained.

My mum passed away last Monday in the care and comfort of Yarrow House. I cannot express how grateful my sister and I are for the care and kindness my mother received by all the staff while she was a resident.
My thanks to everyone including the ladies in Harry’s Cafe.

My parents have been in Haig House since the end of November and the level of care they have received has been of the highest standard. The staff are kind and thoughtful and have encouraged my parents to enjoy the daily activities. Communication is excellent, and our family can't thank the staff enough.

Erskine Home should be a benchmark for care of the elderly. My experience of The Erskine Home was over an 18 month period while Dad was a resident in Yarrow House where his room was always clean and tidy. The care he received throughout his stay was excellent, I could not have asked for anything better.
The staff were so professional, patient and caring and nothing was too much bother for them. I was always kept up-to-date, by telephone, when there was any change to Dad's condition so there were no surprises when I visited. Knowing Dad was safe and being well cared for 24 hours a day gave me great peace of mind. It was wonderful to be able to take Dad to Harry's Cafe and for him to have the physiotherapy suite, hairdresser and podiatrist all on-site. An all-around first class home.

During his stay (Dec 16 - Jan 17) Dad and our family received excellent care from staff in Red Cross House and the wider staff of Erskine Care Home. The staff were skilled in their varied roles and responsibilities. The direct care staff showed empathy, were anticipatory of Dad's care needs, active
in dealing with his health concerns and enabling in promoting Dad to be as participatory in activities as he was able. We can say honestly that all staff we encountered were helpful, attended to our requests promptly and offered a high standard of care. As Dad’s health deteriorated this was raised with us openly and sensitively, allowing us as a family to make decisions in accordance with Dad’s wishes and what we felt was best for Dad as he neared the end of his life. The care environment was calming and peaceful. We thank all staff across the home (including but not limited to Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Harry’s Café staff) who offered excellent cheerful service to us all.

My mother has been in The Erskine Home for approximately 3 years. She is very happy and her room is lovely. If I have a complaint, it is dealt with straight away. Everyone is nice and friendly and the recreation staff are first class. Mum is happy with the food and the meetings between staff and family
is very interesting (They try hard). Good environment and a lovely place to stay and visit. Also 'Harry's Cafe' is a great place and staff are great too. Some of the care staff need more training.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (8.028) out of 10 for The Erskine Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.0 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for The Erskine Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.028 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Erskine Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 180 registered maximum number of service users is 36. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 36 = 0.028

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
