My dad was in this care home for 10 months and his care was excellent all the staff are so caring and friendly. No one passes by without saying hello. He had dementia and was difficult at times but was treated with empathy and patience, especially by his carer. He had a lovely room and was well cared
for. My dad sadly passed away this month peacefully and was treated with respect. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

My friend finds herself confined to her room, which, to be fair is looked after by the staff.
Her conversation can be quite poor and I know that the staff try hard to talk to her, which is a very good point.
On my weekly visits, I'm always well-treated and have no problems speaking with the staff.

We have had a rough time placing our dad into long-term care from the hospital Four Hills gave us time and support explaining everything and my dads settled in and staff and management have treated him well with dignity and respect.

My brother came to Four Hills on the 31st August 2023, after 8 weeks in hospital. He had lost his appetite and his ability to hold a knife and fork and was rather despondent. However, when I visited him two days later he was sitting up, fully dressed, looking very happy and contented and when I asked
staff if he was managing to eat anything, I was told 'everything that's put in front of him'. I couldn't believe it. Needless to say, he has quickly regained weight. As a family, this has made us all extremely relieved to see our brother so settled and content. We are really grateful to all the staff at Four Hills and appreciate everything they do, I find them very friendly, caring and attentive.

Our mum came into your nursing home on the 19th of December. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make our mum feel safe, secure and comfortable. Staff were honest, and kind and could not have done more for our mum.

Overall, impressed with the service given by every staff member in the care home. My great aunt has been well looked after and taking part of most of the activities that get carried out. The lovely staff also put on an excellent party for my great aunt's 90th where the entertainment and the food was
outstanding! All the staff at the main reception are so welcoming and always have a smile on their faces.

I am extremely impressed by the range of activities offered by the activities workers. My own mother was in care in a different home and the activities were very mundane and uninteresting. I love how Barchester Four Hills Care Home tries to hang an activity on anything that is happening in the wilder
world from International Chocolate Day to the Coronation to the Grand National. Small group activities outside seem perfect for some residents. The idea of having them ice skating blew my mind!

My aunt is a resident and arrived a few months ago. In my few visits, I have seen cheery staff and clean rooms. I do not know as yet the full services provided. My aunt gets confused at times, I think she's settling in ok.
To be honest, I have marked the ratings I know as I do not know all as yet.
I do not know all the facilities as yet. Value for money is not my business as I am only a niece, direct family are dealing with this matter. Activities, I do not know as yet. Keep up the good work.

Overall very positive experience for my mother. Facilities are excellent with plenty of space and meeting rooms although bedrooms could be better. Staff particularly the more experienced staff are excellent with my mum and the range of activities available is good.

My friend and I stayed next door to each other and brought our children up together and it is sad that she can no longer stay in her own house. I was glad to see she was happy and well cared for. Only being here for 1 hour and 15 minutes it was a very welcoming environment. All staff spoke to us and
included my friend in introductions. Her room was spotless and there was no odour on the premises. She likes the food and has even been to a French lesson.

All the staff showed care and compassion to my late mother, who unfortunately was unable to benefit from the facilities at For Hills apart from the peace and comfort that you provided in her final days.

My mum was placed in Four Hills Care Home for palliative care until she passed away, she was angry at being unwell with a significant personality change. The staff group provided a very high level of care, were non-judgemental when she was sad to cooperate and understood that I needed their support
too. The building is purpose-built, with spacious corridors and several sitting rooms, but in our situation, it was the quality of care that I considered the most important.

Mum was transferred to the home from the hospital. From day 1 she was treated with respect and love. She laughed every day with the staff even when she found it hard to talk at the end. Everyone in the home looked after her as if she was their mother/grandmother. Thank you so much. I also felt welcome

Tracy is the Deputy Manager here at Four Hills. She combines her expertise in providing not only first-class care in the home but also ensures that everyone is trained to a high standard ensuring that the team develop their skills.


Tracy was the BHC Divisional Winner for Care Practitioner of the Year in 2019. Tracy is a valuable team member for both Four Hills and Barchester and has worked with us since 1997!

Belinda has 20 years of service with the company. She runs a tight ship and “her” residents always come first. Belinda makes sure that her team not only deliver a high standard of care but creates an environment of calmness and fun.

Mary Mills

Job Title: Head of Community - Fir Hill

Hi, my name is Mary, and I am the Community Manager of our Fir Hill Community. In 1975, I started working as a healthcare assistant at 17 years old and was originally from the islands of Scotland.


I worked as a registered nurse with the NHS before moving to Canada. I have 30-plus years of experience working in care homes.


I started at Four Hills in April 2023 as a staff nurse before being promoted to unit manager. The response I have had from the Fir Hill community has been excellent, and it has been an honour to work with. The residents are the heart of the community.

Hi, I am Amy Maganya. I joined Barchester as a nurse in 2020 and was promoted to Unit Manager in May 2023. I strongly believe in kind, compassionate care for our residents.

Annie Murray

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2014

Annie joined Four Hills in 2014 in the Laundry department before moving to the front-of-house in Jun 2015. After Annie's hard work and continuous support to the home, Annie was promoted to Administrator in February 2022.


Annie loves to interact with residents and families and does not only a great job at supporting our residents but our staff too.


Eileen

Eileen Orr

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Eileen joined the Four Hills Family in 1999 and has worked in various roles since. Eileen originally started as a Kitchen Assistant, then moved on to Domestic, before moving on to her current role as Activities Assistant since 2017.


Eileen loves to bring joy to residents' lives by putting on meaningful and engaging activities. From in-house entertainment to trips out, our Activities team always have something going on to keep our residents engaged and stimulated.
