Thank you very much for your feedback. We're extremely sorry about the unfortunate issue caused by a dropped shower tray, this was rectified very quickly. We understand the distress caused by this when you visited and we offered our full support. You had been given every opportunity, as per the company's escorting policy, to escort your mum to the hospital however you had chosen for staff to attend on your behalf due to your working circumstances. I can confirm the home takes all complaints very seriously and the door remains open should you wish to speak to the management team directly. Apologies again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We're extremely sorry about the unfortunate issue caused by an upstairs resident who left their tap running for around 30 minutes and flooded their bathroom. As soon as the leak was detected, your daughter's safety was our main priority which is why she had to vacate the room until our contractors attended that day and we were confident that it was safe to be re-used again. We understand your distress when you visited and offered our full support. There were no alternative bedrooms available and we advised that the room was now safe for your daughter to re-enter and we would conduct regular checks as an extra precaution. We must stress that you decided to take your daughter home against our advice, as is your choice, however we supported you, arranged transport and provided food for you to take. Thankfully the next day you brought her back and she's now in her own room again. Apologies again and thank you for your kind comments about the staff.

Thank you also for the compliment about our staff team. We always work to the same safe staffing ratios and apologise if this wasn't evident on recent visits. Sometimes team members can be occupied in resident's bedrooms or are required to buddy up for personal care which may have been the case. Thank you for raising the other points and rest assured we will investigate this and if standards have slipped, even if only slightly, then we will address it immediately. Best wishes.

It’s my great privilege to be the Home Manager at Haydale, and my favourite time of day is when I’m interacting with the residents and really getting to know them and their families.
With almost 20 years experience in the care industry I still get excited about helping people.
I’m lucky to have a very talented and dedicated care team and together we are constantly striving to reach and maintain high standards.
I’m also a very keen sports fan, especially football.
