Buchanan Lodge Care Home, providing residential, nursing, dementia and respite care aims to enable each resident to make the most of every day by offering an active and friendly environment.

Located in Bearsden, Glasgow, the building was originally a convent building but has been sympathetically converted with residents' care and comfort in mind. Residents benefit from a varied activities programme, which includes everything from music and movement classes to quizzes and concerts to make each day fun and interesting.

I am very pleased with the care provided by Buchanan Lodge Care Home.
All aspects of my husband's many care needs are fully met and a regime of care has improved his mental state. The staff (all) are always pleasant and his room spotless.
It is reassuring that such good care is being delivered to

Very pleased with the care and attention my mother receives from all staff. The amount and selection of activities is super and the activity coordinators are very in tune with who can participate and will enjoy each one.
Christmas saw a full and varied programme of events and staff made sure everyone
enjoyed the season.

Having been a regular visitor during my friend's stay, I have always been impressed by the care and attention given to my friend. Very happy with the overall experience to date. The move process went nice and smooth and the staff have been friendly and caring from the first day. The home is well located and my father's room is warm and clean with en-suite facility. The communal areas are well lit and clean and the carers have
been very accommodating to my father's needs. The whole family is delighted and grateful.

I visit my mother regularly. Any questions I have in relation to my mother's care are always, without exception, answered promptly. The carers, nurses and other staff are considerate and understanding when they are looking after my mother. All things considered, I am pleased with the care my mother

My mother has been a resident in the care home for a year now. She has always been bright and happy in mood when visiting her. The personal care she receives is very good she always appears clean, hair and nails are always attended to clothes are clean and appropriate. You can see her smiling when she
recognises staff who attend to her. Staff are very professional and seem happy to be working at Buchanan Lodge. So this in itself makes you feel safe leaving your loved one there. I've also noticed that the domestic staff acknowledge clients and visitors, which is also reassuring. On the medical side, the care is also good. My mum has got some ongoing health issues and these have been addressed by the home. On the downside, I feel the home is far too hot in the summer months. When visiting it can be noisy at times and there is nowhere to sit unless it's in Mum's room. If another room was available that would be good, also I feel a sensory room would be welcomed by many clients.

My mother has been in Buchanan Lodge Care Home since 2016. The care and accommodation is first-rate. My mother is very well looked after and all staff are friendly and caring. I would highly recommend Buchanan Lodge.

My mother was admitted to the care home just under a year ago. We are delighted with the standard of care and support that is given to my mother at Buchanan Lodge Care Home. The staff team are friendly, caring and supportive. The ethos of the home is exceptional making it feel homely and welcoming.
A huge positive of the home are the wide range of activities and varied calendar of events that they put on throughout the year for both residents and relatives. They put a great deal of hard work and effort into this. The addition of the vintage tearoom is wonderful and allows larger groups of family and friends to meet with residents in an attractive space. With regard to my relative's health and wellbeing, the home also provides access to a wide range of agencies. We hope the good work continues.

My cousin is now into her second year as a resident of Buchanan Lodge and I can’t thank them enough for all they do. I am currently recovering from a month in hospital with a long recovery ahead of me so I can’t visit. The newsletter has just landed in my inbox and to see all the happy smiling faces
has given me a huge lift. I know my relative is as happy as it is possible to be, given her condition and I am so thankful. The Coronation celebrations look amazing and I’m already looking forward to the photos in next month's newsletter. Keep up the good work.

My mother is so happy and it is great to see she has put weight on with the lovely food she is having. The staff are lovely and great she gets involved in activities, which she really enjoys. The activities over the Christmas period were fabulous and great that families were encouraged to be involved.

Mum is well looked after, happy and safe, which is a reflection of the great team at Buchanan Lodge and the caring and committed staff. The staff are incredible and do everything with a smile. Mum is relaxed and happy. Her room is small but quiet - although it could do with brightening up, as could the outside of the building. Overall, we are very happy with Mum care.

Buchanan Lodge has a great team throughout - Activities coordinators, kitchen, laundry, carers, nurses and management.
It is very important to me and the family to have the best care and companionship for our loved ones. The past year or so has not been easy for any of us but the whole team kept going
and are still doing a great job.

I joined the Care Home in January of this year, I have worked in Health and Social Care since I qualified as a Nurse in 2010. During this time I have worked in a variety of care homes in several different roles and worked in Regional Roles for the past five years.


I graduated from the University of the West of Scotland in 2010 and have been nursing ever since.
