I visit weekly and drop off treats to the residents and staff. They are always appreciative and make me welcome.

I found that the care and attention given to my husband was very caring and dignified and also the personal approach was very good, leaving him with his dignity. He was well cared for and his personal needs well cared for.

My friend/old neighbour has been here nearly 2 years. She is well looked after, the staff take her shopping to buy clothes as she has no family.

My father was in this home for almost a year. He was not the easiest of residents to deal with due to the nature of his illness - vascular dementia. The staff embraced my father and took the time to get to know him and care for him during his stay. Sometimes he had more smiles and chat for the carers
than he had for us his family.
The staff are very caring and always listened to any requests we had for my father - but at the same time treated my father with dignity and respect at all times. It was truely like a home from home for him.

The home is dirty, residents sit or walk around in dirty or sometimes no clothes. Zero activities staff hard to find 98% of the time. No dieticians, why? Lead staff give up on residents as the end of life approaches. 1 member of staff in particular, at 74 should not be there, very depressing and speaks
inappropriately. Upsetting family/friends on several occasions. There is no dignity for residents and the word care should be removed. Management is approachable and promise change, still waiting! Something on the floor we left deliberately to see how long it would take to remove, still there after 3 weeks! Unacceptable! Dust on the bed which we requested be cleaned, still there after 12 days. We should not have to clean on visits. Clothes often dirty and torn, mum sitting with breakfast over her at lunchtime. If it were not detrimental to mums health she would be moved to another facility. We are one very unhappy unsatisfied and angry family.

Unfortunately on this occasion we have failed to achieve the standard expected and have put measures in place to ensure this does not occur again. My husband has been in Castle View since June 2016. The cleanliness standards are good. The staff are really good although on occasions under pressure. Any problems or concerns are quickly addressed. What we've seen of foods looks very appetising, but as my husband is P.E.G fed we are unable to comment.
Activities could be better but this is due to one of the co-ordinators being off sick, this, I believe will be remedied soon. Overall we are pleased with Castle View and the kindness and compassion shown by all the staff.

We chose Castle View Care Home for mum, over a few other care homes in the area, where she had spent periods of respite care. We as a family are extremely pleased with all aspects of care at Castle View. The staff are exceptionally kind, competent and willing to listen.
They go the extra mile. We are
always made to feel very welcome and they always stress that it is mum's home and we must come and go as we please. It is never easy putting your elderly parent into care but in Castle View, we are reassured that she is in the best of hands.

Unless there was a real emergency I would not think of using any other care home than Castle View Care Home. The standard of care is high and my husband benefits from the fact that the staff all know him well and are always pleased to see him. He seems to settle quickly. The more often he goes the more
familiar he comes with the routine.
The house itself is warm, bright and cheerful with a high standard of cleanliness and security.
The staff are kind and helpful and seem prepared to go the extra mile. I am impressed by a feeling of welcome when I visit.

My mother was a resident of Castle View Care Home for just under 11 years. She was cared for and looked after very well by all the staff, allowing her dignity and giving her personal attention. From getting her daily paper, her hair done, providing her with activities to enjoy - singing, bingo and arts
& crafts, to making sure she had the right spoon for her soup, this was all done for her. My mum felt Castle View was her home - as did I and my family who were always made to feel very welcome and always kept informed of her health. Mum's life was made as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible, she was shown love, care, respect and support, for which I am indebted to the staff of Castle View for.

My mother became a resident after two failed attempts in other care homes. She was a resident in the dementia unit from June 2015 until she passed away in March 2016. I could not begin to express how much gratitude my sister and myself have for this unit. They gave my mother the very best quality of
life she could have in her time there. They were especially helpful kind and compassionate to all of the family especially mum. I hope if ever this awful disease strikes me I am fortunate enough to find such a home from home. Thank God for places like this.

We have had a stressful year with mum settling in various nursing homes. We have found the management and staff very helpful in trying to settle mum into the home. Room is always clean and bedding always changed. Mum always smartly dressed. It would be nice if we could have an area available to make
cups of tea freely for mum and family therefore not constantly asking staff.

Several years ago there was a room in reception that had tea and coffee making facilities. Over time it was agreed that it would be more homely to have these facilities in the Residents bedrooms where appropriate, as this was more homely and families could sit in privacy with their Relative. Any Resident can ask for this facility in their own room.
