Beechwood Care Home is a purpose built, 89 bed, registered care facility providing general nursing care to people over the age of 65 and to those with dementia related conditions. The home also benefits from a specialised unit caring for young people with physical and/or learning disabilities.

The building is divided into four distinct units, with a number of lounge and dining areas where residents can enjoy home cooked meals and afternoon tea with family and friends. All of the bedrooms have bright and spacious single bed accommodation with en-suite facilities for privacy and convenience.

The home is conveniently located opposite Wishaw General Hospital and is within close proximity to the town centre, with easy access to all local amenities. In addition, a regular bus service and the main train station are just a short distance away.

Residents can enjoy the beautiful courtyard within the home, in a lovely peaceful setting, together with a wide ranging activities programme and private minibus for outings and trips to places of local interest.

The home recently made it to finalist stage at the 2017 Caring UK Awards for the 'Best Innovation in Care' category.

Mum has settled really well into Beechwood Care Home - all the staff are very caring and attentive to what Mum may need. They encourage and support Mum in getting involved in the day room as well as going to the dining room with all the other residents. Mum always says how happy she is in her new home
which makes us really happy as a family that she is happy and being so well looked after. Mum has needed some additional help with her medical needs as she had breathing issues and fluid retention. The staff have dealt with this well to get Mum the help she needed. I want to call out one member of staff especially, who takes such good care of Mum, she is on top of all her needs and knows how to stimulate Mum. She is very observant and this reassures us that Mum is in safe hands.

My sister moved into Beechwood a month ago. We chose Beechwood because of the welcoming, caring and friendly atmosphere between staff and residents.
Since coming here, my sister has been shown the utmost respect and first-class care.
The staff put the needs of their residents first at all times. Nothing
is any trouble - no matter how busy they are.

We have been very happy with the care my brother has received at Beechwood Care Home. Nothing has been a problem for the manager, nurses and carers when asked to do something. My brother enjoys all the meals and has put his weight on since he went into care. Activities are many and varied. All in all,
we are very pleased.

My mum has been in the dementia unit since July 2021, and she has settled in really well. All the family are happy with the care she received. My dad visits regularly and sees how the staff interact with Mum. We, as a family, appreciate all the hard work the staff do to keep Mum safe and well cared

My Grandmother now resides in this care home which my mother also worked in for many years and there was no hesitation on where my grandmother would be going when the decision had to be made when she needed 24-hour care. I cannot recommend them enough. The management has helped settle my gran settle
into her new home and could not have been more friendly, caring and professional. Also, they have a wide range of activities that they put on for the residents and my grandmother takes part in all of these which is great and very relaxing to know she is enjoying her time within the care home.

My mother-in-law has been in Beechwood care HOme since October 2021. We as a family are delighted with the care she receives and my mother-in-law has developed relationships and strong bonds with staff within the Geroge unit.
The staff within this unit force many challenges daily from service users
and always carry out care needs and support to families like us with high standards. We chose Beechwood as a family and our choice couldn't have been better. The service users' needs and opinions are always considered.

My dad has been in Beechwood since September 2021 and we can honestly say the care he receives is fantastic. The staff are so professional, caring and friendly. They keep us up to date with every aspect of his care and discuss this with us.
The social activities are wonderful and Dad just loves the
food but more importantly loves the staff. We feel that we are part of a larger family and would not hesitate to recommend Beechwood to any other families.

My Mum first moved into Beechwood in September 2019. She had heart issues prior to this and had to be admitted to hospital. After her illness, they nursed her back to health and with their care, she became more mobile and was happier than we had seen her in many years. The staff in the home were very
professional and cared for my mum so well. She is involved in activities on a daily basis in Beechwood and she is clearly very settled and happy there. An ex-nurse myself, I had high expectations and I have not been disappointed. I am confident that we made the right choice for Mum. The staff are kind and helpful. They clearly care about the residents and the Manager in Beltane unit was excellent, and very knowledgeable. I cannot emphasise enough how committed all of the staff appear to be and how much my mind has been at rest throughout the COVID Pandemic at the professionalism and dedication shown. I can't thank the whole team enough.

My mother has a number of chronic health conditions. Since moving to Beechwood we have seen a remarkable improvement in both her health and happiness.
When complications set in eight years ago at home, she briefly saw a physiotherapist and attended a consultant nephrologist's clinic for several years
for kidney disease and exhaustingly frequent urinary tract infections. We ultimately accepted that nothing could be done to help her. At Beechwood, though, she's been nigh clear of UTIs and, although she will never be able to walk again, she's been encouraged to take baby steps on a Zimmer. Her mental health, happiness and contentment have improved as well. There is plenty of stimulus through various activities in a peaceful and cheerful environment.
The specialist knowledge and treatment, sensitivity and kindness she is receiving are beyond our high expectations. Nothing is too much trouble at Beechwood. It is very difficult to thank the service manager, nurses and carers enough.

I really can’t praise the staff highly enough. The care they provide is professional yet compassionate. As I live overseas, it is important to me that I have some peace of mind about my mum and I am confident she is well looked after. Since moving into Beechwood, my mum’s health has improved and she
takes an interest in activities and this is mainly due to the wonderful staff. The staff go above and beyond to put the “care” in the care home and my mum is very happy here. Thank you to both the manager and unit manager who lead by example. Your staff are a credit to you. Thank you for all you do.

Mum's care since being admitted has been first class. Every member of staff has treated my mother with care and dignity. The improvement in mum's health and wellbeing has been exceptional. I asked mum if being in this care home was not better than sitting in her own home alone for days at a time and
she replied "definitely". The first-class home with the first-class staff, there is nowhere else where I would want my mother to be.

Mum spent about 3 years in Beechwood up till she was 104 years old, and I was always relieved to know that she was being well looked after by the nursing staff, carers and the personnel employed there. I visited her every 6 weeks sometimes more often, as I live in France.
Mum passed away on the 8th
May 2019 but was treated with dignity and affection during the palliative care which was a great comfort to myself and her family. We are so grateful for all that was done for our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and thank you all once more. Not only did the personnel take good care of Mum but they also took good care of her visiting family and friends and for this, we will always be grateful. With kind thoughts.

My granda went into Beechwood December 2016. He has had the best standard of care possible. I work as a nurse myself and I could see the dedication and attention my granda got. Sadly he passed away in February this year. Me and my family are forever grateful for the care and especially in the last few
days of his life. Nothing was too much of an ask and always strove to do the best for granda and our family.

My grandad was cared for in this home for over 2 years. During this time the staff got to know him well and his care needs were met. He was well looked after during time in the home. The home has a caring environment and can tell the staff work hard to maintain high standards of care. I liked the activities
and days out my grandad got to participate in. Also, the personal touches the home has e.g. photos of day trips on the corridor walls. Also, each room has a little bit about each president with their name attached to the door.

My Father was in Beechwood Care Home from December 2016 until 21st February 2019 when he passed away. He was treated with compassion, dignity and respect. The unit lead nurse and care home manager were excellent. My Dad had complex problems and he came to fully trust the unit leader and staff who helped
him daily. I will always be in the staff's debt for making my Dad's last years so comfortable.

I regularly visit my mum in the home and I feel very confident and happy that she is being well cared for. The staff are very helpful if I have a query about anything and there is a happy, friendly atmosphere in the home. The standard of cleanliness is very good and the food is lovely, nutritious and
plentiful. When I leave the home after visiting, I have peace of mind that she is being well looked after.

I was satisfied with the way my relative was looked after. Anytime I phoned to ask after him, staff were always helpful and polite. So, all in all, I am pleased with the experience the times I have had to put my relative in for respite.
