My review is (mostly) about the treatment of our family members (not my mother's treatment).
Most staff members are pleasant enough, but I have encountered 2 exceptions to that rule. One is just an all-round unpleasant person, with a combative attitude with me. For instance, being nasty with me, when
I reported one of my mother's possessions had gone missing, saying to me "Oh, that? It was in the office, but it's not there now!” As if to say: not my problem.
I informed her that if it was not found, then the home would be responsible for replacing it. My poor mother didn't lose it, and the family certainly didn't lose it. However, her attitude was deplorable. I think she is high up? But know she is not the care home manager. I've never seen this woman with a smile on her face!
The other staff member, I just observed being very sharp with a resident, when he wouldn't (or couldn't) physically comply with her request (she got frustrated with him).

Thank you for your review. We’re disappointed to read that your experience isn’t the welcoming and supportive one that Rosepark is commonly known for. We’d like the chance to address the areas you mentioned and would love if you could arrange to speak with the home manager to discuss your concerns and help improve the service for you and your family. Best wishes, Renaissance Care

I have been visiting my mum in Rosepark since she was admitted six months ago. I would like to say, the staff greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome when you visit. Staff are caring to my mum and always available to chat and answer any questions on how she is. There's never a 'moan' or a feeling
that anything is too much when I ask them for anything for my mum. The place is warm, hospitable, bright and modern, which makes you feel that the staff and home care about the residents in creating a nice place to stay. I've spent a lot of time here, chatting to staff, when I visit my mum and always get offered a cup of tea and a snack. It takes the stress and worry of where your loved one is, knowing that people actually care and that you're not just a number to be forgotten about. In what was a very stressful time, having to find a suitable care home for my mum, it's taken a lot of the worry and stress away knowing that my mum is happy in a caring and loving environment.

The carers have character and are friendly. Options for food are good. I enjoy the food very much, however fewer chips could be provided. I am pleased to be offered milk and fruit when I would like it.

My mum has been in Rosepark for a year and she gets excellent care from the staff. They spend a lot of time motivating the residents and they are well-presented as far as personal appearance goes. My mum's room is always spotless.

My friend was in for 18 months. She was well cared for, and they made her feel wanted. She sadly passed away in 2022, but I highly recommend Rosepark. Also, made me feel welcome when I visited. The food was, the good carers were amazing, and also the domestics and nurses were amazing.

My mum has been a resident in Rosepark Care Home since May 2021. She entered during lockdown, while this was extremely daunting and upsetting for me, I was kept informed at all times of my mum's progress. Since then, we as a family, have not regretted choosing Rosepark as the care she receives is first
class from all staff. Nothing is too much trouble and she is treated like family, which is reassuring to us.

My father has been a resident in Rosepark now for 5 months. I can only go on the care and support he receives and us, as a family, which is outstanding. Communication is great I am contacted as and when needed. Management are on the ball and so approachable and work on the floor with the team. The nurses
are fabulous and aware of my father's needs. Staff are great and work together which you can see the teamwork, nothing is a bother. I have extended family now and thank you for all you do. The kitchen staff are fabulous, so easy-going and helpful home baking is to die for. Always something going on - the team are as good as they get. Nothing is a problem and they find solutions to best support my dad or us, as a family. Teamwork and care delivery is outstanding. Always a friendly face and a cuppa. The cafe is open and great for a snack, drink and catch up with other families and residents. Outside area to relax with my dad is great, enabling us, as a family, to enjoy the cafe experience with the grandkids.

My gran died within two weeks of staying here. My gran was bed-ridden as per the doctor's orders. Incompetent staff decided to put my gran in for a shower (not a bath) on Thurs morn, proceeding then to the common room in her nightdress (without an ounce of consideration for her dignity). Staff stopped
me in the hallway to update my grans day. I was in complete shock - why my gran was moved (assuming staff should have reasonable skill and training to be employed here) would be a good decision, also against doctor's orders? Staff did not appreciate my shock; in fact, her retorts quickly became very bitchy! When I went upstairs, looked at my gran; I knew she was dying. I sent pictures to my mum, she arrived asap! When my mum questioned the manager, she had no knowledge of her staff's incapability or rationale. I then caught the staff talking and laughing about me in the resident's common room - professional?
No consideration that we were due to spend the weekend watching my gran die (on the Sunday). Wow.

My parent has had a fabulous level of care since moving into Rosepark last year. His needs have been well anticipated and catered for. The staff have been caring, professional and compassionate from day one, this care has been extended to family. All decisions and plans are reviewed and discussed in
a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend to prospective residents/families.

Dad was admitted to Rosepark in June 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown, despite not being able to see him, his new home or the staff who were going to be taking care of him, the move went really well. From the first contact with head office to that first call when he arrived from hospital
to Rosepark, my mum and the family were reassured that he would be well looked after and was safe. Communication with staff has been amazing, we might only know most of the staff by voice or eyes above a mask but the support we have been given is fantastic. Dad is kept active and is now participating, he looks so well and any concerns staff have are raised by phone to the family. Dad is not just a resident he is treated like one of their own and that is very comforting for my mum. Staff are working in difficult times but still honour all those special days, Christmas and especially birthdays. Difficult to find the right word to sum up but 1st class comes to mind.

My mother who is 102, is a long time resident at Rosepark has been very well cared for and I could not wish for greater support all the years she has been resident. The staff and local management have kept me informed on the few occasions when mother needed medical attention. I think if they could wrap
her in cotton wool they would do so. They are a credit to the caring profession.

My mum has been a resident in Rosepark Nursing Home for over 4 years and has received absolutely first-class care. Any infections (which she thankfully has not had too many) have been dealt with right away and as a result, have cleared up quickly. I can honestly say that I have never at any time regretted
choosing Rosepark as my mum's care home. The staff are so friendly, caring and accommodating, in fact, they are just like family to us. My mum is always kept spotlessly clean and is well looked after. Although she has dementia, the staff will spend time with her, interact with her and make sure she is included along with all the other residents. If there are any concerns, the staff will contact me via phone to keep me informed. Nothing is ever a problem, the staff will go that extra mile to accommodate. I would strongly recommend Rosepark to anyone looking for a nursing home for their loved one.

Ever since I moved my wife into this home from her previous one, she has become more settled and content. Any time I see her interact with the staff, I can see that she is comfortable with them and she allows them to direct her to perform various activities, be it personal care or movement around the
home. There are a number of the staff whom I have witnessed treating my wife as if she was one of their own relatives. I feel extremely comfortable leaving my wife in their care.

My Dad entered Rosepark after a stay in hospital when it was decided that he could no longer be my Mother's carer, I know he is 93 and was my Mum's carer. It was a wee bit of a battle to get Mother to agree to enter full-time care, but I can honestly say it's the best decision we as a family have made
for their well being. They are so much happier now that all of their worries have been taken away by the wonderful staff at Rosepark, for which I personally cannot thank you guys enough, they're happy, healthy and generally enjoy Home Life. Everyone involved with their move to Rosepark have been brilliant, extremely helpful and above all professional in everything they do for my Maw and Paw and me. Thank you all everyone connected with the Renaissance Group.

Since my Aunt has been in this home, I have been happy with all aspects of her care. It has always had a very welcoming feel about it. All staff have always been approachable. Before covid the entertainment side was so enjoyable, my Aunt enjoyed these very talented singers (me too)!

Both my mother and father are in this care home. Been there for about 4 weeks. Yesterday was made a very special day, the staff made a real fuss of them for Valentine’s Day also they will be married for 70 years at the end of March. They had a lovely day thanks to all staff.

Mum was in Rosepark for 7 months. The care, respect, dignity and compassion given to Mum was excellent. The staff quickly developed a warm, friendly relationship with Mum and got to know her very well. Mum thrived in the home until her health declined and we felt very confident that Mum was in very
good hands. Communication between the home and myself (and family) was excellent and we were kept fully appraised of how Mum was doing. We were fully consulted at all times.
The staff also gave us so much support. They got to know us and we were always made welcome when visiting Mum. We visited the home regularly and saw firsthand how the staff (at all levels) interacted with the residents and how well they knew them. There was always a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere in the home. In choosing Rosepark, key considerations for us were the level of experience staff had in caring for those with dementia and the extremely low level of staff turnover. We were not disappointed.

Current Review Score: 7.4 (7.447)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.4 (7.447) out of 10 for Rosepark Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.364 for Rosepark Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (16 Excellents x 5) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.364

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.083 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosepark Nursing Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.083

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
