Although Abbey Lodge is having major building/refurbishment, they are still trying to maintain standards.
My mum has been decanted from her original bedroom but is looking forward to returning to this once refurbishment is complete.
My mum finds the staff very attentive and enjoys the many activities
provided.
Mum also enjoys the food provided, she finds the menu varied and to a very high standard.

My wife is reasonably well looked after and staff are helpful. My wife is quite settled so I would be quite happy for her to remain here. The lift could be swept daily.

Living in Canada it's challenging to have an ageing parent at home, Abbey Lodge staff provide the services and care my father needs and gives us peace of mind. The staff are responsive helpful and willing to communicate by email which is invaluable to us. As our needs change so does the care provided.
As my fathers personality changes with age, the staff show understanding and compassion.


Any issues or concerns that have been raised are quickly addressed by management. When my father moved into Abbey Lodge the facilities needed to be upgraded and this work is being done. The last place I want to be is in a retirement home and I know there are newer, more modern facilities available, but if you are in need of good care, compassion and in a friendly environment look no further than Abbey Lodge.

My Mum is very settled in Abbey Lodge and there always seems to be plenty of staff around. The staff are very attentive to the residents and always stop to ask how things are when we visit. The recent fete seemed to be enjoyed by all. The lounge is currently being updated and the kitchen area in the
dining room has been updated recently.

My experience of Abbey Lodge is mostly positive. My mother, almost 102, has been resident for 2 years.
In that time her dementia has developed/changed I feel she has been cared for as well as could be hoped for under the sometimes trying behaviour associated with the disease and her great age.
The
staff are always cheerful and helpful in my experience. I find the telephone system quite frustrating at times!

The staff at my dad's care home are fantastic.
They look after my dad with extreme care and kindness. This is from management all the way to the maintenance and kitchen staff.
They always have a smile on their faces and are very approachable and helpful if any of the family have any concerns.

All staff are very caring and attentive to the needs of residents. Residents are treated appropriately according to needs. The home is always clean and tidy. I visited the Care Home prior to my father's admittance and I must say I was extremely impressed by all staff that I encountered. They seemed to know each patient by their name even when passing the patients on the corridor they always stopped to say hello to them. The Care Home Manager runs this
care home excellently and the staff were so helpful and kind. I witnessed the care and attention given to patients which greatly impressed me. On my last visit, my father left his room with me and a tradesman who was in painting said to my dad "Hello George how are you doing" - just these little extras help the patients enormously. So thank you to the manager and all the staff who look after my dad - each and every one of you are doing a fantastic job - so thank you most sincerely and I know you will always keep up the good work as the patients are very important to you - which was witnessed by my family and I each time we visit.
