Douglas View Care Home is located in the heart of Hamilton and offers residents nursing and nursing dementia care in a warm and welcoming environment.

From care assistants and nurses, to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is on hand to offer all the support that residents need. Working alongside residents as well as their loved ones, they design personalised and bespoke care plans that help to ensure each person is living life the way they choose, with the peace of mind that their care is always a priority.

Spending time getting to know residents' hobbies and interests allows the team to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting each person to continue to do the things they love. For residents who are more social, an active involvement in the Hamilton community is also highly encouraged.

A spacious home, Douglas View has a cinema and bar for residents to enjoy as well as a selection of eight sitting rooms, six dining areas, a café and hairdressing salon. The lovely landscaped garden and courtyard, tended by some of the residents, are favourite spots to spend time catching up with friends and family.

You can't put a value on peace of mind knowing that mum is safe, well looked after and mentally stronger means so much to the family. She is happy and content and that means everything to the family.

Extremely happy with my mum's level of care. All the staff are extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for my mum. Cannot fault the level of care at all.

Myself and my family are very pleased with the care and attention my husband receives in the Douglas View Care Home. It was his 80th Birthday and they couldn't have done any better for us, the catering was absolutely lovely, banners and balloons and a cake everything you would have got if you had booked
a hall. They have also taken him to Celtic Park and Hamilton Accies. Also, the tribute acts they put on are great. The staff are exceptionally nice and caring. Thank you Douglas View.

My uncle has been at Douglasview for a few months. The staff are excellent, very compassionate, caring and sensitive to his needs. They are very reassuring and helpful to me regarding his condition and are very quick to notify me of anything. I highly recommend Douglasview for any relatives that require

The care home is satisfactory overall. My personal experience is the staff are very kind and will do anything that you ask for your relative. The cleanliness of the home is satisfactory with room for improvement. The meals are sufficient for the residents and the staff will try to accommodate the residents
as best they can. The home provides some activities but in my opinion, this is where the care home lacks as I feel there isn’t enough to motivate or simulate the residents as I come in and they all just stare at each other. Think they are happy to see members of families coming in to have a blether. The residents could be checked more frequently for incontinence as I have come in and they have had accidents and they haven’t been checked.

I am so glad we found this place. It has really helped us during the stressful and difficult time of having to put Mum into a home. It has been 10 months now and she has flourished in that time having put on weight and I am pleased with the activities that she participates in. It is such a relief that
Mum is being looked after and cared for in such a great way that helps her enjoy these twilight days of her life.

My dad has settled in well. It's been an easy transition from the hospital with the help of all the lovely staff.
All family members are made to feel welcome and encouraged to join in activities. There are always different activities and outings for both residents and family.

Mum has only been here for about 3 months, but in that time she has settled in. The care staff and activities staff have gone out of their way to support her so much.
They have made me feel so welcome by saying one simple thing to me. That was that we were walking into Mum's home and to treat it as
such. That made a huge difference to every visit after that. They encouraged us to make Mum's room into her own wee living space. The staff now know Mum inside out and I'm extremely grateful.

All staff and management are excellent, especially two ladies, they really do care.
Always welcoming and my dad has never been happier.
Never had a bad experience. Good food and top-level care always looking for new things to involve the residents.

My mum has been in Douglas View for 5 months. The staff have been outstanding. The level of care and compassion has been brilliant.
Mum is settling in and the staff are getting in and staff are getting to know Mum's ways.

My mum has been a resident here for almost 2 years. Choosing a nursing home for an elderly parent with dementia is something no one wants to do and it was very hard to find the best place that would give Mum the specific care and attention she needs. My dad and I have never looked back since my mum
came here, we are 100% confident she is in the best place possible. All the staff are amazing, they know Mum really well and she has many opportunities to go on outings. Care and cleanliness here are outstanding. Mum is never distressed and is always treated affectionately. Sometimes her hair is curled without the hairdresser visiting or her nails are painted, little gestures that mean the world to us as Mum was always very proud of her appearance. My dad is there most days and he feels like part of the Douglas View family too. Can't thank all the staff enough for what they do, there are too many to mention by name but you know we appreciate the whole team there. A million thanks to all.
