Greencross Nursing Home & Lodge is a listed building close to Cambuslang town centre. Originally an 1888 primary school, the building has been restored and converted, creating a modern care facility but maintaining the charm of the original school.

The home also has a purpose built unit completed in 2004 which has en-suite single rooms providing specialist care for Korskakoff’s psychosis.

There are single rooms containing a wash-hand basin, television and telephone point. Toilet and bathing facilities are close to all rooms and en-suite facilities are also available. The bedrooms are homely and residents are encouraged to bring in their personal items.

Greencross has an activities co-ordinator who organises events and helps residents find new interests. There is also a minibus for days out.

I have resided here since February. The staff are very friendly and approachable. My room is lovely with an open outlook. I have enjoyed the delicious meals provided here. Also having wonderful keyworkers who I really like, keen to help, support and advise if required.

In this care home for these times has been very strange. The staff have been close and we can talk about it with the other residents. At this time we have been keen to know what is happening in other countries and stay safe.

Greencross has been looking after my sister for approx 3-years now, and the family are delighted with the care she receives from the super staff. Extremely helpful, friendly and experienced. They go out of their way to ensure the best service possible. The family cannot thank them enough.

The home is excellent no complaints. They have dealt with the virus so well and always been in touch during the virus keeping myself updated on what is happening. The staff have been excellent all the time my aunt has been in the home and the staff have always been friendly when visiting.

My first visit to see my dad since lockdown with all measures in place, with staff ensuring we adhered to them. My dad looked very well, relaxed and in good form. He was seated in a comfy shed, brightly decorated and painted. This is a new construction and is perfectly suited for current requirements.
My family and I are so happy with the care my dad receives at this home.

During the recent lockdown, the staff at Greencross Nursing Home & Lodge have shown great care and concern for my father. We have been unable to visit for over 5 months but have felt assured that his mental and physical wellbeing were being taken care of during this difficult time.

Because of Covid-19 I have only been able to see my husband once a week, but I know that he is getting first-class care. I only have to phone any time for an update on his condition and the staff are only too willing to give me information.

Was able to meet up with my brother again in surroundings within the garden of the care home. A lot of thought has been put into the visits. The staff are complying with government guidelines and nothing is too much trouble to them. The staff are good at keeping relatives informed of what is happening
within the home and always on hand to answer questions.

I cannot recommend Greencross Nursing Home enough. My brother was there for 6 years. Unfortunately, he passed away in June this year. During the time he was there he received care that was second to none! The staff are amazing, they treat the residents with respect and care for them lovingly. My brother
was treated like family, he was happy there and I trusted them to take care of him, which they did with love right up to the day he died. I thank each and every one of the staff there for the way they take care of the residents.

I have been at Greencross for over 5 years and cannot speak highly enough of the staff here. The staff go out of their way to ensure I am well cared for and that my life remains as normal as possible. I have been supported to attend family weddings near and far - even when it meant overnight stays.
My visitors are made welcome and when they cannot come to visit staff help me to go see them. Myself and my family look upon the staff as friends and we have a great relationship. I can talk to them about anything, any issues are sorted quickly.
My room is cleaned every day and my keyworker has helped me to decorate it myself the way I like it.
I am very happy here.

My Dad, who has dementia, is a resident. I am extremely pleased and overwhelmed with the care my Dad receives. As a family, we have no complaints at all. The staff are great and care a great deal about the residents. The home itself is lovely and clean. There are bright pictures and photos all around,
it's very welcoming. It's great to know my Dad is being taken care of so well.

Lynne

Lynne Barron

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 1995

Lynne is a Level 1 RGN studying at Glasgow Royal before commencing her role as a nurse. Since then she has worked as a night shift nurse, Care home manager and is now a Deputy care Home Manager. Lynne has always worked with the elderly within the private sector and wanted to be a nurse since she was a young girl.
Lynne has worked in Greencross since 1995. Lynne is one of the longest-serving members of staff and began her career at Greencross working as night shift nurse before working her way to Nightshift sister, Home Manager and following the birth of her daughter, her current role as Deputy Manager.
Lynne believes it is important to treat all residents in the same way you would expect to be treated yourself - with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect.


Strengths - Lynne is very patient and always takes the time to talk and listen to residents. she is always considerate of the resident's views and opinions and also those of the staff. Lynne is good at organising and ensures everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing and when.
Lynne is a Continence Champion at Greencross and focuses on supporting residents to improve their continence, staff to meet their continence needs and in turn improving the health and wellbeing of the residents.
Lynne is very creative and good at thinking outside the box, she uses this skill to create interesting focal points and areas around the home for the residents to enjoy.


When Lynne is not at work she enjoys walking her dog Barney and spending time with her daughter.
