My mother has been in Whitehills Care Home for four years, the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much if asked of them. My mother is happy here and feels respected and safe. During lockdown the home kept me updated often, sometimes daily and enabled face time calls too. I'd recommend anyone
looking to consider Whitehills Care Home that it is clean, tidy and welcoming.

Elderly father admitted after a long spell in hospital. He was in need of some TLC which the staff have given in abundance. He has settled well into his new home. Very reassuring to know he is being well cared for by a great bunch of dedicated staff. A big thanks to all. With a special mention to the
Deputy Manager and to the staff who managed the admin, both guided me through everything I needed to know prior to my father going in. I would highly recommend this place.

I can’t thank the nursing home enough for the care they provided to my gran. Sadly she passed away in March (non-Covid) however I always knew she was in the best hands right up until her end of life, even during these difficult times. The staff and management always made me and my family feel secure.
Of all my visits to the home, it was always tidy and clean. Thanks again for everything.

My mum was a resident in Pine unit for 5 years. We chose Whitehills as my gran was already a resident there and we were happy with the care she received. We, therefore, decided it would be good if they were both in the same place. My gran was in a different unit but the carers would often take my mum
to visit her. The staff are wonderful with the residents and our mum and gran were so well looked after.
Unfortunately, my mum died in April this year during the middle of lockdown. Her death was not COVID related and the staff couldn't have been any more helpful. They kept us informed as to how our mum was and towards the end allowed my sister and I to visit (at separate times) to say goodbye. The staff were well informed of PPE and handwashing procedures and had the equipment at hand for us on entering and leaving the building. Thank you so much for making our mum's final days easier for both her and us. And thank you for making her final years happy ones.

Given the unprecedented times and the challenges that faced Whitehills, I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the support and compassion they are giving our Dad. They provide a personal and supportive service. It has been difficult not to have a personal visit with our Dad due to not being able
to have indoor visits.
The staff have assisted greatly in helping us to have a conversation from window visits by using their own mobile phones to help with the communication.
The management has kept family members informed of any changes on a regular basis, and this has also helped and provided us with reassurance and comfort.

Staff and management were great with my gran, and we felt secure that she was in good hands. The care assistants really went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

My mum has been in the Larch unit at Whitehills since January 2020 and I can honestly say the care staff give my mum the best possible care. I always feel reassured when I see them interact with my mum and see how fond they are of her and vice versa. Above and beyond.

Would highly recommend this nursing home. The staff and management have involved me in all decisions in the care of my dad. All of the staff are very caring, extremely dedicated and provide an excellent atmosphere within the home.
There are many activities available to residents within the home and
also various outings for those able to participate. The home also encourages families and residents to make the bedrooms very personal and this gives the residents a real sense of familiarity and comfort.

The staff are very good with my mother, always clean and tidy, the food is good. Great breakfast choices, fruit and cakes for afternoon tea.

Over the past 4-5 years, the home has had ups and downs. New management (in last 3-4 months), standards have gone upwards. Certain members of staff are obviously better than others. A difficult job under any circumstances which should be carried out by NHS (my opinion).

Dad was shown real care and compassion - particularly towards the end of his life. He was treated professionally, with dignity, and received more person-centred care than he ever did in his admissions to hospitals. As his next of kin I was kept informed and made to feel welcome when I visited - friendly
staff - all of the cleaners, care and laundry, most smile and say hello.

What a difference a year makes!!
My precious Wee Nan has been a resident here for 8 years 7 months.
Last year I wrote a review and I was less than satisfied with this service, but as I said in my opening line.....what a difference a year makes.
New manager with his amazing staff has turned this place
around.....Wee Nan is very well cared for. This is her home and it is friendly, welcoming and happy with amazing care and love and understanding shown to her.
Any issues that arise are dealt with and resolved promptly and access to the nurse in charge of the unit or the home manager is easy and encouraged.
I can rest easier knowing my precious Wee Nan is safe, cared for and loved in her home.
