Our mum was a resident in Burnfoot Care Home from November 2023 and the care she received was excellent. The carers were warm, nurturing and compassionate throughout her time here, especially in her last days. We as a family, felt supported, listened to and we were kept fully informed of any changes
in our mum's health. We will be forever grateful to all the staff at Burnfoot.

My mother spent two years at Burnfoot Care Home due to dementia and I cannot express enough how comforting the staff were. From our first meeting, their warmth and professionalism put me at ease during a challenging time. The nurses conducted regular checks, prioritising the well-being of every resident,
while the care workers built trust through kindness and respect. The facilities felt like a home away from home and the cleanliness was impeccable with a 24-hour cleaning schedule. The engaging activities and secure environment ensured residents were safe and content.
Management was always available to answer my questions in a professional manner which I greatly appreciated. During my mother's final days, I spent five days at Burnfoot, where the staff ensured I was well-informed and supported. With my brothers in Australia, we utilised reliable 5G for video calls, providing comfort to family. I highly recommend Burnfoot for exceptional care and support for your loved ones.

My dad went into Burnfoot Care Home in November 2023. My dad has dementia and the staff there are nothing short of excellent at providing the correct care and support he needs every day. The staff are loving and caring, and well trained in supporting residents with dementia related illnesses. They
provide a professional and supportive network for the families of those residents suffering with dementia. Burnfoot feels like an extension to our family 'home'. Our family are always made feel very welcome when we visit dad and are welcomed along to family and residents events they hold. They have lots of events and entertainment and the residents are really happy and content whenever we visit. The management are very professional. They communicate regularly with family members about their loved ones. This has been a huge sense of relief to our family at this difficult time as dad's health declines. I would highly recommend Burnfoot to any family who has to put a loved one with dementia into care.

My dad was not well for a while and the care he got in the care home was excellent, they really made sure he got the help he needed and the care he got from the staff was amazing and now he is back to full health.

My dad who has dementia to the point he does not recognise any of his family members, was accepted into Burnfoot after being evicted by a local care home in Kilmarnock who could not deal with his care needs. Dad has now been in Burnfoot for over 18 months and we are grateful he got admitted.
The staff
there are brilliant, they are trained to deal with dads needs and soon understood his triggers allowing them to care for him. The staff are always happy to talk and share stories and anecdotes of what dad had been up to and any trip that have been planned. There is a connection to the local area as staff are mostly local. This leads to retention of staff so you always see familiar faces and means better care for dad who has built relationships with the staff. They are able to deal with dads condition allowing them to carry out his personal care needs. He is eating well and is looking physically better than he has for years. I would recommend Burnfoot to anyone who has similar care needs to dad.

He seems very settled and calm at present. The staff are excellent and very capable and compassionate at all times. Since the resident has been placed in the care home the resident has received the bets care from all members of staff, staff are helpful giving full answers to any questions or queries whenever asked to do so and give full support to the resident's family members when needed.

My uncle was well cared for during his stay at Burnfoot. He was treated with dignity and respect at all times and was well loved. The staff were kind, caring and very supportive, nothing was too much trouble for them. As a family we can not fault the care and attention he received. We can't thank the
staff enough for their kindness and care, it means a lot to us . Burnfoot is definitely one of the best care facilities in Ayrshire.

My Dad resided in the care home for a year, he was happy and well looked after. The staff were lovely and caring. They turned the daunting experience of putting a loved one into care into a marvellous and positive one. He was always well-kept, well looked after and loved. He was treated with dignity

My husband was moved to Burnfoot a few days before Christmas 2023 as his previous care home could not cope with his 'behaviour'. Burnfoot is a lot further away for us visiting, but the care is miles ahead of what he was getting previously. Every member of staff we have met so far has been so welcoming
to us as a family and so caring to my husband. They have asked us for loads of information about him so they can get to know him and to know what/who he is talking about. They know more about him in a few weeks than his previous home did in nine months. He was miserable in his previous home and always agitated. He seems so much calmer and happier now. It is early days for us yet, but the difference in care is like night and day. They are encouraging him to take part in activities too.

My dad will nearly be a year in Burnfoot and what an amazing journey it has been. The kindness, care and compassion shown by each and every member of staff is clearly demonstrated. My dad looks so happy and he is always well-presented. It really feels like it is his home. It is very much client-led
and each person is treated as an individual to ensure their needs are met. You often sadly hear the negative stories about the care sector, so it is even more important to celebrate that there are some amazing care homes and staff out there who go above and beyond. I would have no hesitation in recommending Burnfoot to anyone. There are such a lot of opportunities provided for the clients to get involved in lots of activities. Well done.

I felt, at all times, that my mum was in the best of hands. She was in a safe environment, where it was homely, clean and warm, just like the home she had left. The staff, all of them, were brilliant - approachable and helpful; you never felt you were bothering them with requests, however, trivial they
sounded, rather they reassured and gave you peace of mind that they had her best interests in their sight. They were professional too, with monthly reviews which kept you up to date with any medical necessities if and when required and also her general well-being. Their focus was always on her, but they had time to listen also, which is so important for the relatives on the outside. The staff also went over and above to try to involve Mum in events and entertainments held within the home, and there were many, celebrating each with relevant decorations and fun activities. They really tried their hardest to make her time with them special. I'm relieved she spent her last days here. Thank you.

All staff are very welcoming and supportive. They make you feel at home. They provide a homely, safe environment for my mum. She is cared for like a family member. The staff allow you to have peace of mind when you leave knowing that they are invested in her care.

I could not be more pleased with the care my husband received. He was very anxious when he left the hospital, and with the care he receives now, he is always quite content and calm. The staff are so friendly and always let you know how he is doing.

My grampa has been in Burnfoot for a year and a half now. He has thrived compared to where he was before. Care is very good, staff are great with all clients and work very hard. His needs are cared for very well, and I would recommend this home.

Hi my name is Eileen I have worked in Burnfoot House since 2017
I started as a care assistant before taking up the full time role as Activity co-ordinator. I have an SVQ in Social Services and Health Care. My favourite part of my job is getting to Know the residents and their families. Getting to know them allows me to plan activities to suit their needs and preferences making them feel welcome and at home. we currently have a Daily monthly and Annual planner of activities which have been planned around the residents needs and wishes. The activities include one to one time, Karaoke, arts and crafts, gardening, bingo indoor bowels, golf, pamper sessions and when able we will enjoy shopping trips and outings again. My family are very important to me and i enjoying spending quality time with my husband and five children.
