My mother moved into Burnfoot, a few months ago and she is happy and well looked after. She is more settled and happy to interact with other residents and the team. When we visit, we are made very welcome. We are kept well informed on her health and well being and can't thank the team enough.

I hate to see my brother in this situation after being such an active person who cared about the community and ran the Girvan football club for years. He also did several marathons to raise money for local charities as did another of your residents, just a shame they are not in the same wing as they
were great buddies. I am pleased he is in your care home as the last one was not good. The staff were great but it was not a homely place, unlike Burnfoot. No place will be perfect but I think you do a good job and I take my hat off to all the staff whatever level of responsibility they have as I could not do their job.
My only criticism which is very minor is the staff don’t always have their name tags on. But hats off to them all I think they are fab!!
And the first thing I get offered is a cuppa which is great after the drive from Girvan. Thank god for people like you and I think your pay should be on a par with NHS nurses. You are all fantastic!

I feel my son is well looked after. His room is warm and he is fed well. I feel he gets on well with the staff. I have peace of mind he is safe.

On my mum's Ruby anniversary I asked staff to post pictures of my mum and family gifts of the day and still at 7 pm no pictures or information of this special day. After calling the home they informed us of an accident seven hours previously (bear in mind I called at 11.30 am and nothing was mentioned
of any accident! Still waiting on pictures of this very special day as staff said they would make today a very special occasion. Feel very let down as my dad has updated the staff of his new number and still the staff call his old number after I called the home.
Her daughter, I was told she has dementia and she's deteriorating so it's not like she will remember today. Am sorry but no one should ever say that to me or a family member. We have to live with her condition every day and it was the worst day of our life the day my mum got taken out of our care!

Husband has only been here 9 weeks due to covid I cannot answer all the questions.
My husband seems content he is clean and clothes are well laundered. The staff have been very nice and friendly.

I saw my husband in the visiting room. He was in excellent spirits, happy and has definitely thrived since he has been at Burnfoot Care Home. To me the care is exemplary. I was so pleased to see how well looked after he is - smart, clean-shaven and healthy. The attending staff were kind and helpful
to my cousin (who was with me) and myself. I felt uplifted and positive after seeing him so settled in Burnfoot.

After 52 years of marriage, my husband became a resident at Burnfoot Care Home. Due to Covid restrictions, I was unable to visit Burnfoot before my husband became a resident, but my GP assured me that this was an excellent option for his complex care.
From the very first day, he received the very
best attention from all staff, and he ate well, was entertained every day and his personal/medical care was excellent.
I was assured that I could contact Burnfoot at any time of the day or night, and every member of staff knew my husband and could keep me up to date on how he was that particular day. My husband was always interested in sport, and I took his badminton racquets to Burnfoot, and staff and another resident played with him most days and he loved this. In fact, before I could take racquets to Burnfoot, the activities coordinator had purchased a set to see if it was viable to play within the confines of the large day room. Whatever he fancied doing, the staff always tried to accommodate his wishes.

My dad recently became a permanent resident in the home after a 4-week period of respite. On admission to the home, all the staff were very welcoming and were reassuring (as we were not able to actually go in with my dad due to COVID restrictions). Every time I have called to check how my dad has settled
I have felt reassured. That has taken a huge amount of stress and pressure off our family. Having now visited Dad 3 times in the home he appears happy and content.

Burnfoot Care home has cared for my gran for many years. They provide excellent daily care and she feels safe and comfortable in the environment. All the staff over the years have been really good with her and all take time to speak away to her and ensure her needs are met. The communication between
the home and myself is also very good. I am more than happy with the care provided.

My Dad became a resident at the beginning of lockdown. This was a very upsetting and stressful time for our family as we were unable to visit the care homes before making a choice. We chose Burnfoot after hearing positively about it, and the closeness to home.
Dad settled in straight away and seemed
happy in his surroundings. It was difficult for us, to firstly accept a care home was the place he should be, we always thought he would come home after his stay in hospital. This was made easier by the care staff, who went above and beyond their remit, including using facetime to speak to my Dad and to actually see how happy he was. It is clear the staff know him really well, appreciate his sense of humour, even when he's being cheeky! Staff have organised visits for us in line with guidelines, this is important for us and we love to see him and listen to his stories.
He enjoys activities and has made friends. It is reassuring for us to know my Dad is settled, happy and safe.

I also think it is a valuable trait to be available whenever your colleagues need support and empathy whenever they might need you.

Hi my name is Eileen I have worked in Burnfoot House since 2017
I started as a care assistant before taking up the full time role as Activity co-ordinator. I have an SVQ in Social Services and Health Care. My favourite part of my job is getting to Know the residents and their families. Getting to know them allows me to plan activities to suit their needs and preferences making them feel welcome and at home. we currently have a Daily monthly and Annual planner of activities which have been planned around the residents needs and wishes. The activities include one to one time, Karaoke, arts and crafts, gardening, bingo indoor bowels, golf, pamper sessions and when able we will enjoy shopping trips and outings again. My family are very important to me and i enjoying spending quality time with my husband and five children.
