My mum and dad are both residents in The Glebe and I have nothing but praise for the care and dedication the staff provides for them. Ideally, neither of them would need to be in a care home and I would be able to look after them. However, I truly believe trusting the staff in The Glebe with my loved
ones is the next best thing. Over the last few years, I have witnessed a lot of changes, some good, some not so good. However, I am delighted with the recent Management change and am excited to see the new changes which they will put in place. I visit my parents every weekend and have become a part of the fixtures and fittings at weekends which has allowed me to watch all the extra behind-the-scenes work the staff do which goes over and above what is expected from them. This applies from the management to the carers to the domestic and kitchen staff. Thank you all for looking after my loved ones like they are your own. It doesn't go unnoticed... especially during lockdown.

I have always had a good relationship with the staff at the Glebe and this has only increased since the recent changes in management. With the lockdown, it’s been hard not being able to have my regular visits however the staff keep me fully informed and in fact have lately started putting photos of
the residents' activities on Facebook which is a great way to keep the families and friends up to date. They encourage my mum’s independence and involve her as much as possible. They have that personal and professional touch and can recognise any subtle changes to her demeanour which is a comfort to her family. I have seen good changes over the last year or so and I am confident that this will continue. I think of the Glebe as part of my family and have no issue trusting them with mine.

My husband was there for a few weeks. I have to say that individual members of staff seemed very nice and kind. My husband was becoming increasingly violent when he was admitted to the home. During the short time he was there he assaulted several other residents, seemingly without the assaults ever
being witnessed by any member of staff. I would just be contacted by phone and told that the staff had heard a scream or similar. Worryingly, the first two assaults took place when he was supposedly self-isolating in his room during the first two weeks of his stay due to the potential Covid-19 risk. Although I was very worried about him being placed in isolation, the reality is that he must have been mixing unsupervised with other residents during this time. This raises concerns for me about the level of care and supervision being offered. I had a number of other concerns about the home which I raised with the manager and the care inspectorate.

I am 58 years old and have been here in the home since December 2015 due to ill health. On the 22nd of October, I am moving to supported living. During my time here I have been treated with respect and dignity at all times. I will miss the feeling of belonging and will be sorry to leave. I couldn't
rate this place highly enough.
