Sitting on the Prestwick Promenade, overlooking the beach, Queens is in a stunning location. The team provide residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, as well as respite care breaks, which are ideal for family carers, who would like to plan a short break themselves.

The home is thriving with so much to do, from live music, therapy dog visits and cocktail making, to walks along the beach and pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages.

The local community is embraced into life at Queens, with visits from musicians, singers and local school children. The residents enjoy rickshaw rides with Cycling Without Age Prestwick, and visits from members of the over 60s club.

The team organise so many trips out, keeping those community connections alive – from dances and panto performances to shopping. And there are visits to Sanctuary Care’s nearby home in Ayr, to enjoy their memory café and spend time with the residents.

Mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with the home’s talented chef crowned Best Performing Chef for the entire region at Sanctuary Care’s annual Chefs’ Conference (2023). Residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals, and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Inside the home there are welcoming lounges, including the Arran Lounge, with bay windows overlooking the seafront. Many of the bedrooms, as well as the front garden overlook the beach, with residents often sitting and watching the sunset.

The sun terrace is also a lovely place to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. The home also has a private family and friends Facebook group, so relatives can see what the residents have been enjoying doing, even if they can’t be there in person.

My mum has been a resident at Queens Care Home for over 2yrs now.during this time i have seen her more happier than shed been in yrs previous.This is due to the wonderfull staff at the home.she gets her hair and nails done,does lots of activities and gets proper looked after.The staff go beyond all
my expectations,they are all very helpfull and kind.couldnt wish for more.

Having been hesitant about putting mum into someone else hands didn't come as an easy decision for us as a family but after long discussions and apprehension we knew something had to change. Now seeing the changes for mum (absolutely for the better) not only is mum getting treated as a person but us
as a family are greeted with a smile everyday and constantly updated and kept informed by what we see as a well oiled machine (that only happens with a good work ethics and understanding of the tasks at hand) we now understand our worries were unfounded.

My mum was rewarded with a placement within Queens Care Home on 20th Dec 2024 and after 2 weeks it the best decision as a family we have ever made period. Mum was in local hospital and the difference in every aspect of her now care is not only 1st class but different class. We have been made welcome
from every member of staff we have met to date and special mention to Management team of on reception for the most engaging welcome and easiest decision to be made on Mum's behalf. Top class care when you have top class people it's a no brainer folks from me.

We are very impressed with the relationship the staff have built up with Mum, getting to know her likes and dislikes. She is now in a room much more suited to her and has settled well. Mum has acknowledged how grateful she is to have 24 hour care to support her. The staff are friendly and approachable
and the place has a welcoming atmosphere.

My gran currently resides in Queens Care Home and has done so for some years. The care at Queens is second to none. Before going to Queens my gran was lonely and then due to health never managed to get out to her clubs. Now she lives in Queens and her home is now packed with days of fun-filled activities
and laughter. I have seen her shine since being there and that's due to the fact she is very much at home. I cannot thank all the staff at Queens enough not just the carers but all the staff who work very hard to make sure all the residents are happy and as healthy as can be. I would recommend this home to anyone who asks!

My wife has been a resident in Queens since March 2023. She has vascular dementia, other health issues and has limited mobility. My family and I could never have found a care home better than Queens for my wife. She receives all the care she needs and this care is delivered with the utmost respect what
makes it special is it is delivered with such kindness and where appropriate with much fun which enhances the lives of the residents. This comes from the management and all staff.

Mum has been a resident now for about 9 months. She is happy and content and well looked after by all the staff. There are lots of activities going on over the week to keep residents entertained and stimulated from cake baking to music entertainers, quizzes to competitions, art classes to therapy animals.
There are afternoon teas for events like Mother's Day or cocktails, well just because. When something does need addressing the managers listen well and are supportive to make changes when they are needed. We as a family always feel included and supported. The food is varied and beautifully prepared and Mum has certainly eaten better since she moved in. The tea trolly is always well stocked of an afternoon too with a delicious array of cakes to tempt anyone's palate. The staff all bring different personalities to the home and each one wants what is best for our families. It wasn't an easy decision for us to make to have Mum in care but it has definitely been the best one to choose Queens.

My mum has just spent her first full month at Queens Care Home. The difference in her well-being is very noticeable to the family. The care, attention and patience, given to her has been first-rate. She is enjoying her food, which is very varied and adjusted to suit her individual needs. All the staff
make time to say hello when I visit, which is amazing with their busy workload. The management team are friendly and efficient and has supported us through a difficult time with Mum. I am so happy I found the Queens Care Home.

My mum has only been in the care home for a few weeks.
The staff are wonderful. Very caring. Hard-working. Great fun.
Really go out of their way to help.
There have been lots of activities for the residents to take part in. Families are made to feel very welcome when visiting.
I always kept up to
date on Mum's health issues etc.

My mum has been a resident for 7 years, and throughout this time I have seen many changes. This has undoubtedly been the best time I’ve felt totally satisfied with the management and staff. They genuinely care for my mum and know her so well, always ensuring her needs are met. The staff are caring to
all residents and try their best to ensure everyone is cared for. Manager and deputy very approachable and listen to any concerns. It’s a very happy team who work well together, at least that is what I have witnessed. Staff always trying to include all residents in activities. Food is variable and of a high standard.

Since my mum moved to Queens Care Home, I have found it to be a positive experience. The staff are always pleasant towards residents and visitors, any medical issues seem to be dealt with immediately. I have always been informed via phone call when Mum requires a new medication, staff use effective
communication skills to deliver quality person-centred care. The food looks top quality, varied daily menus, providing the sustenance our elderly population deserve. Top marks to you all working in Queens! One big family going above and beyond for all your residents.

I have always found all my communications with staff and administration to be helpful, courteous and truthful. As a daughter living in England, this has been much appreciated. The carers are very patient, kind, thoughtful and respectful of my mother, seeing to her needs as quickly as they are able.
They are gentle when using the hoist and always talk her through whatever they are doing to/with her. Queens is where my mother now lives and she has been made to feel welcome and safe.

My brother has been in Queens now for over 2 years and I can’t rate it highly enough. All staff members are kind and respectful. The care offered is person-centred and nothing is too much trouble. I’m so grateful to all the staff who have improved my brother's quality of life since being there. The
managers are so helpful and very approachable. Our family will be forever in their debt for the care they have provided to my brother and the improvements they have made to his life, living with Parkinson’s. Thank you all.

We looked at quite a few care homes and Queens came out on top. My wife has been a resident there for a few months and this has shown our choice of Queens was the correct one. It is always clean and all the staff are exceptionally professional and caring. All the residents are treated with dignity and
the staff know the needs of each resident. The food is varied and well-made. The location is excellent being right on the prom. There is a varied programme of activities all of which are thoroughly enjoyed by the residents. They and their families are also encouraged to personalise their own rooms. All the rooms are en suite and we have been told the en suites are to be upgraded this year. I visit most days and the standards are always maintained. My son and I would highly recommend the Queens. We know my wife is cared for in a safe and caring facility.

Stayed at the home for twelve nights. Could not ask for any more attention. Staff were brilliant, gave me all attention I needed and looked after me very well. Would use the home again and would use the home again if I was ready for going into a home, when the time comes.

My grandmother moved into Queens Care Home last September, we as a family can't thank the staff enough, she has gained weight, her confidence is so much better and she is so much happier within herself. The staff are caring and very considerate towards both my gran and our family which makes it a all
round pleasurable experience visiting her. We have spoken with the management team who are so easy to approach and understanding and without a doubt go that extra mile. Queens nursing home has helped so much in giving my gran a great quality of life and provided such great care and compassion I would highly recommend Queens gran feels very at home here which is a great feeling for us as a family.
