The care provided at Antiquary Care Home was excellent. We met with the Manager. He was so clear about the care they provide for each resident that we were very impressed. His team delivered the type of personal care he described at all times. The ladies who came in to offer cups of tea were so friendly
and welcoming. The nursing staff were vigilant and compassionate. Thank you to all.

Our experience of Antiquary in the care they provided for my mother was excellent. Mum's stay was a short one, but she was welcomed into the home and quickly settled in. When she was in her last few weeks and end of life care the staff were just marvellous.

My mum has now been in Antiquary Care Home for approximately 6 months. The staff are wonderful with her and my mum has found a new lease of life.
Myself as a family member I have always been made to feel welcome.
The staff cannot do enough to help and assist my mum.

I didn't even know about the respite flats at Antiquary and I was greatly surprised. The staff were amazing and I felt so peacefully looked after and safe here, I would come back here anytime. Having care on call is amazing as you still have independence to go about and have visitors. The food was lovely,
I cannot fault in any way.

You are treated as one of the family in a warm and cosy environment. There are plenty of activities that you may join in with and are encouraged to do so. The rooms are warm, spacious and all fitted with ensuite. Visitors are invited to visit you in your surroundings. The menu is varied and optional
choice is there on each serving. You want for nothing and special diets will be catered for. The home has a lively entertainment programme encompassing a wide variety of choice. The staff are brilliant and will endeavour to sort out your request immediately. A good home from home all down to the excellent manager and staff.

Current Review Score: 6.9 (6.869)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 6.9 (6.869) out of 10 for Antiquary Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.783 for Antiquary Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 3.783

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.086 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Antiquary Care Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.6 = 0.086

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
