Orchar Nursing Home makes the most of a luxury interior and expert team in order to achieve quality support, was also benefitting from a wonderful location beside the waterfront.

Orchar is registered with the Care Commission to accommodate 40 residents in 38 bedrooms, all en-suite and fully equipped. Most bedrooms boast en-suite wet floor shower rooms. All rooms are single-occupancy but many can also suitably cater for couples.

A spacious, well-appointed dining room, two comfortable, plush lounges and the garden sitting area all overlook the breathtaking, panoramic view. Residents are also welcome to take advantage of a quiet sitting corner, the hairdressing salon, two passenger lifts and off-street parking with level-access.

The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Orchar provides residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in an elegant dining room, but residents can dine in their own rooms if they wish.

The dedication and devotion of highly-trained staff has established their reputation as an exceptionally ‘friendly and caring Home’. Carers and qualified nurses are on duty twenty four hours a day. Residents’ quality of life is greatly enhanced by the comfortable, warm and safe environment that Orchar provides.

A wonderful care home that went above and beyond for my father, who spent 3 months there. The staff were amazing, the care and love shown made Dad feel very relaxed and at home. I can highly recommend Orchar. Thank you lovely people 10/10.

I have been in Orchar Nursing Home for one month. What a wonderful treat, not to do anything just sit and wait for all my designated helpers to assist me with all my needs. So lovely to see a happy smiling face and hear the words, good morning Joan. The we trip off arm in arm and have our breakfast.
The food here is just very good, just like home cooking, best bit is no dishes to wash. I feel very very much part of the extended family of Orchar. The whole place shines. The staff are all wonderful.

My mother has been a resident of Orchar Nursing Home for several years now. She is extremely happy here and very well cared for. The staff are very friendly, always courteous and treat residents with the utmost care and respect. The food is in plentiful supply and a varied menu is displayed so all residents
and families can see what they are having to eat that day. First-class entertainment and activities are available to all the residents and my mum just loves these, especially the singsongs! The rooms are immaculate, freshly decorated and feel very warm and homely. The care home is spotless and redecorated to a very high standard on a regular basis. On a personal note, I highly recommend Orchar Home as I believe it is one of the finest homes around for residents requiring 24-hour care.

By 2020 my husband was delusional and unable to keep his balance so was falling a lot. Luckily, Fife Council had a 'falls team' who helped to lift him up with the help of a blow-up cushion. Unfortunately, I was calling them out sometimes twice in 24 hours, mostly in late evening when trying to get him
to bed. Although we had 3 sons, 1 in USA, 1 in Japan and 1 in UK, I did not have a big family support. My husband in 2021 was diagnosed with Lewy Bodies Dementia and I was advised to find a nursing home for him as a residential home would not be able to care for his needs. After many weeks of searching, my UK son and I found a nursing home where we would be happy to place my husband. Orchar is kept spotless and the nurses, carers and managers are welcoming, looking after all residents and relations.

I would have no reservations in recommending Orchar Nursing Home. Both of my in-laws moved in here over 3 years ago. The staff are wonderful and have looked after our family as if they were their own often doing things in their own time. We live 370 miles away and this personalised care makes such a
difference. It's a very happy home. Entertainment and trips out are excellent.

Over the last six months, since my husband moved in, all the members of staff have worked caringly and professionally to make my husband feel welcome and comfortable. I have lived in Orchar for a wee while now. It has been a new lease of life for me. I made lots of new friends. There is always something going on every day. I am very well looked after. My meals are made for me. I get the care I need. Nothing is too much for the staff. Although I have a big extended
family, they have their own lives to be getting on with. I am extremely happy to be living my last years among such special, happy, funny, caring people. My family is so happy I have settled into my new home.

Enjoy very much the activities, mainly music and the visits from the music therapist are very looked forward to. Outings, eg: tea dances are enjoyed. Chatting to friends in the lounge. Laundry provisions really excellent.

Job Title: Home Manager

Orchar is owned by Carewise Homes Group and is run by Home Manager, Mrs Roxana Popescu. Roxana is a 1st level registered nurse with many years of experience in nursing and health and social care. She has been part of the Orchar team for over 9 years and holds a Registered Manager Award SVQ4.


Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; most have completed NVQ levels 2 or 3. We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected, full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff.
