Viewlands House care home is a listed building in landscaped gardens close to Perth city in Scotland.

Staff are available 24 hours a day and an alarm call system is fitted throughout the house to gives residents peace of mind. If nursing care is required this can be given by the qualified staff.

All bedrooms in the house have en-suite shower facilities. Each room reflects the taste and wishes of individual residents because they are encouraged to bring their own items of furniture. Television and telephone points are provided in each room for use with the resident's own equipment.

A lounge and a conservatory offer residents the chance to get together with other residents and meet their friends and family.

Family and friends may join a resident for lunch and evening meals.

As well as a range of activities, a hairdresser visits twice a week and the salon can also be used by residents who prefer to keep their own hairdresser.

I am not the first contact with Viewlands, for the care of my sister, because I am 91 years old and unable to travel often. Our niece has close relations about care and needs, e.g shopping, but I am aware that her care is first-class. My sister is very frail and unable to do anything for herself, so
she needs nursing as well as warm friendship and awareness of her every need. She is treated with much love, skill and I believe, humour and all understanding. My sister reveals gratitude, as do I and she is smiling, contented and calm. Thank you.

Dad says "It's the best barracks I've ever had." Viewlands House, Perth is a beautiful old house that feels like a home from home, with the addition of first-class care. The excellent staff go the extra mile to ensure residents are well looked after and visitors are made welcome and kept up to date.
The food is excellent and plenty of it. They made Dad a really lovely birthday cake. The gardens, grounds and summer houses are lovely for sitting in or having a walk around and there are plenty of activities to suit everyone. Viewlands House and the heroes that work there are simply the best.

After a year of lockdown and three stays in hospital, my mother moved into Viewlands House 2 weeks before her 99th birthday. In spite of quarantine, she settled quite quickly thanks to the very caring staff who kept us in touch with video and what's app. She continues to thoroughly enjoy the company
of the other residents, the activities and the excellent care of the staff. Saying she is treated like royalty.

The care my mother receives from Viewlands House staff has been exemplary. My mother has severe dementia. She is at all times treated with dignity, kindness and respect. Throughout the past months of Covid restrictions, care and management staff have kept me informed of the steps taken to ensure the
safety of residents, staff and visitors. Due to the diligence of steps taken there has been no incidence of Covid in the home a testament to the teamwork of the staff. The carers deserve a medal.

Staff are very helpful both to resident and relatives, especially during the COVID lockdown. Kept up to date on the latest regulations and how it impacts visiting. The staff have worked very hard to keep the residents safe while allowing visitors.

My mother decided it was time to go into Viewlands House. From our first appointment, the staff have always been welcoming, friendly and professional. My mother is happy with the care she receives from the nurses and carers, the catering and the domestic teams. During the pandemic, the staff have done
an amazing job at keeping COVID at bay. This has been a challenge for the staff and the residents but this has not had a major impact on my mother.

Excellent home. Very caring and kind towards my mother and understanding towards me. Mum went into the home under difficult circumstances, just before Christmas and in the midst of the pandemic, but the care home staff have been extremely helpful throughout the whole process.

My aged and frail aunt is very well cared for at Viewlands. She now needs nursing care, Viewlands has increased her care appropriately and the family has every confidence that her needs are being met. Her room is very comfortable, the home always feels bright, clean and welcoming. Both senior and junior
staff are very approachable, helpful and friendly. Sensible and well-developed measures have been put in place to keep everyone safe at Viewlands over the past difficult pandemic year. Not living in Perth, I appreciate being able to phone at any time to check on my aunt. Viewlands is an excellent care home.

Viewlands House provides a very caring, clean and homely environment for my parents. The staff are friendly, approachable, and understanding of my concerns during the most unusual past year. The activities coordinator has tried very hard in difficult circumstances to provide a programme of varied events
to stimulate and entertain residents. I can only say that I consider my parents extremely fortunate to be staying together after 66 years of marriage. They are happy and content which is all that we can ask for.

Viewlands House is a very welcoming home to visit. Fresh flowers in the hall and friendly staff meet you at the door. The care Mum gets is wonderful and I could not be more pleased. She is usually happy and well pleased with everything too. The staff have had a difficult 15 months with COVID restrictions
but have given 100% to make it all bearable for residents and family. Viewlands House is an excellent home and I recommend it to friends.

As a visitor to Viewlands between August 2019 and February 2020, I was always impressed with the friendly professionalism of all the staff. They respected my 100-year-old aunt's wish to stay in her room, which was light, sunny with artwork and photos embracing her with happy memories of earlier decades.
However, it was not long before my aunt was often to be found downstairs enjoying the company of other residents, staff and volunteers. Her only "complaint" of Viewlands was that mealtimes weren't long enough! This is a huge compliment to all the Viewlands kitchen staff as my vegetarian aunt was latterly turning away most food when living at home. Visits by the pet therapist were a great highlight for my aunt. Thank you to all the staff and management at Viewlands for caring so attentively to my aunt and for always making family feel so welcome, no matter what hour we arrived.

Viewlands House provides 1st class care to my mother. The staff are kind, considerate, extremely professional, friendly and always on hand. My mother's room is always tidy and clean, as is the entire home and we were able to surround her with lots of familiar furniture and photos from her home. Viewlands
House has a spacious dining room, lounge and conservatory too and smaller spaces if you want to have a quiet chat with your relative. There are daily activities for the residents to participate in if they want to. Additionally, there are trips out of the home, particularly in the summer. The food is excellent and the menu is varied. The home has the feel of a friendly small hotel but with the best care and support my mother could have.

My mother has lived in Viewlands House for 10 years. Her care needs have altered over that period but have always been met with skill, professionalism and genuine kindness. Every resident is treated as an individual and with respect. It has been possible for Mum to socialise, make friends or have privacy

Viewlands House has cared for and nursed my parents in their 90s for some four years.
The staff are well trained, professional and friendly at all times.
The management processes appear to be first class.
Even during the very serious illness of my father, their assistance and care levels were excellent.
The
rooms are well sized and always spotlessly clean.
The food provided offers great variety and the activities provided are extensive.
My parents have made many friends in the care home.

Viewlands is, in my opinion, an outstanding residence for the elderly. My mother has been a house member since February 2016. Though I live in Switzerland and only manage to visit a few times a year, we do phone nearly every day and there is not a single call that my mother doesn’t mention how happy
and grateful she is to be at Viewlands. She never fails to praise the attentive staff who treat their residents like old friends and spare no effort to make everyone feel as comfortable as they possibly can. The management is outstanding and together with the staff provide exercise, stimulation, entertainment and outings. Special occasions are celebrated with delightful and imaginative festive menus and all appreciate the talents of the kitchen staff. As a doctor, I can confirm the high standard of medical attention and the so important high level of genuine TLC (tender loving care) provided by Viewlands.

My father was at Viewlands House until May 2017. He was extremely well cared for, with a lovely big sunny room. Always treated with dignity. He had vascular dementia. My mother has now gone to Viewlands - went in April. She also has vascular dementia. We, as a family, are extremely grateful for the
patience and loving care being shown to her. We have personally seen how dire other homes in the area can be. Would thoroughly recommend this home.
