Viewlands House care home is a listed building in landscaped gardens close to Perth city in Scotland.

Staff are available 24 hours a day and an alarm call system is fitted throughout the house to gives residents peace of mind. If nursing care is required this can be given by the qualified staff.

All bedrooms in the house have en-suite shower facilities. Each room reflects the taste and wishes of individual residents because they are encouraged to bring their own items of furniture. Television and telephone points are provided in each room for use with the resident's own equipment.

A lounge and a conservatory offer residents the chance to get together with other residents and meet their friends and family.

Family and friends may join a resident for lunch and evening meals.

As well as a range of activities, a hairdresser visits twice a week and the salon can also be used by residents who prefer to keep their own hairdresser.

The staff at Viewlands House in Perth have simply transformed both my parents’ late years. The staff team provide an amazing blend of what is required: everyday clinical, professional, practical help, in context of what makes up the invisible but vital ingredients of relational, emotional, social support.
Even my very independently-minded mother now says, ‘this is home.’ Simply stand in the bright, sparkling clean hallway; see fresh flowers; hear laughter. It's a good place.


The staff really understand how to support individuals and maintain respect for their dignity and right to choices. The staff somehow see through what I might assume as a ‘failings’ instead, they play to the strengths, however, limited, of the older person. The range of social events, trips and visits brings community into Viewlands; as well as Viewlands being a community itself. I have learned much from the staff about what care really means. As a family, we are always welcomed, consulted, listened to.
