My first experience was good, the carers seemed to have the time for each service user. I was never asked to wait for any service, it was attended to right away. Morning noon and night, my wife was looked after with care. The carers are doing tasks that I could no longer do at home when I was looking
after my wife. All in all, I'm quite happy for my wife to be in the care of City View Court.

The manager and staff have made Mum a home and now feel like family, from the beginning, they took time to get to know Mum so that they could give her the care that she needs, they encourage the family to be involved with care and are respectful of your wishes.
The home has fantastic facilities with
plenty of outdoor space which families can use and is fantastic when visiting with her great-grandchildren. There are also tea and coffee facilities for residents' families and plenty of seating areas around the home to use when visiting. Mum loves her weekly trip to the on-site hairdresser and has enjoyed extra therapies that are made available.
Mealtimes are well thought out for each resident's needs and snacks are provided throughout the day, arrangements can also be made for residents' clothing and bedding to be laundered separately.
City View is going from strength to strength.

I am very happy with the care my father is receiving at City View Court. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to help and accommodate him. He was unable to walk coming here and now he is walking with the aid of a walker.

This home is the best home in Belfast. A new manager who really cares, takes the time to chat to us relatives. The care is second to none and my friend could not be happier. The home is always clean and I would have no problem recommending this home to anyone.

The care home at City View Court is well run by the management and staff down to the cleaners. The home is very clean and there is help on hand if you need. Residents are all looked after well. I have no complaints, as a visitor I am made very welcome. I visit twice a day. If the NHS was as good as
this, there would be a lot of happy people. I would pass on this to other people to have a look at this home if they have doubts about facilities for loved ones.

My mother-in-law is a resident in City View Court and her care is 110%. She is so happy from when she was in a different care home. The staff take time with her. The staff and manager are amazing and treat her like family.

Having been to a few homes, Clifton Nursing home has clean, comfortable and homely surroundings which my father was very happy and settled within. Staff are kind pleasant and very helpful and there was always several staff to be found when you wanted to speak to someone. Nursing care was excellent with
the nurses monitoring closely and delivering care well. My father passed away in January in Clifton Nursing Home and the kindness and support of the staff looking after him was second to none. In his last days and hours he was cared for with dignity and humility and nothing was too much bother for the staff. So many staff came in to see him and say goodbye, and support his family. My mother passed away several months earlier in Clifton Nursing home and our experience of the care for her was the same as with my father. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The people are what makes a place and here the people are an extended family who make it the fantastic place it is.

We looked at several homes, before visiting Clifton Nursing Home and were beginning to worry that we wouldn't find anywhere we would be happy with. As soon as we entered the home, we had a good feeling about the place. It's bright and airy and very clean, we were met by the manager, who showed us around
and answered all our concerns. We had a choice of rooms and chose one overlooking the garden.
Mum settled in very quickly and joins in all the activities. She's probably done more in the three weeks she has been there, than in the past few years. She's been to a singing group, movie night, pamper day, cookery session and joined a bowling competition. The staff are very attentive and caring. Mum requires 24hr nursing care and this is administered, professionally and always with her consent.
It's very reassuring for our family to know that mum is happy and well looked after.

My sister is happy most of the time but has her off day. Most of the time she is clean but there are days when I feel she isn't as clean as she should be. Her eating has picked up since she arrived here. Her room and bed are always clean and tidy. She enjoys the activities and the company.

At first, we were worried about things not being done all the time, like the afternoon tea. Some days she didn't get any or it was very late coming. There were no biscuits, or there were things like crackers and cheese that she couldn't eat. Sometimes at the weekend, there isn't any staff if she needed
the toilet. Most of the staff are really nice and talk to her but there is one or two who don't talk or show any care.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.979)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.979) out of 10 for City View Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.929 for City View Court is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.929

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.05 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for City View Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 registered maximum number of service users is 20. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.35

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
