My family and I have found Clandeboye Care home an excellent facility in the care of my wife. The facility is always exceptionally clean, the staff always helpful and smiling even when under extreme difficulties. My family and I cannot thank the staff enough for their very hard work and dedication.

My mother was a resident of Clandeboye Care home (in Dufferia Ward). My mum sadly passed away in the home on 3rd June 2019. I would like to highlight that my mother received first class service from all members of staff. They looked after my mum so well and Mum enjoyed her time in the home. The amount
of care and support Mum received was tremendous. I was also kept updated on all matters associated with her. Overall, an outstanding care home with excellent staff who pride themselves on looking after residents so thoroughly and diligently.

Mum has resided in the home for 1 1/2 years now. I really appreciate the staffs caring friendly attitudes to the residents and their relatives. The staff are always helpful and will assist/advise with any problems/issues that I have had. The staff inform me if there are any changes in Mum's condition
or if she has had a fall etc. The home itself is clean and inviting and there are different areas for the residents to spend their time. They are free to walk around the indoor space and their rooms. Mum is content and very settled.

Food Hygiene rating of 4 out of 5 as displayed on the door not encouraging.
No hint of hand cleanser for visitors. I had to use my own Complete Foaming Hand Sanitiser.
My friend is all but 100% mentally capable, but seriously physically disabled. He was not allowed to have side 'board' raised on
the open side of his bed - his next-of-kin was required to agree to that action. Ridiculous situation, in my opinion.
My friend used the only available chair in his room. There was no second chair, and I certainly was not offered one, despite staff visits during my time there.

Clandeboye Care Home provides a friendly and caring place for my mother. I can leave her in the care of the staff knowing that she is safe and well cared for and that they will keep me informed if they have any concerns about my mother's health. When required the staff will always contact care professional
outside the home for ex-doctors. The home also has a social side which gives every person a good quality of life.

I am pleased with the care of my husband gets. I find the staff friendly and approachable to speak to. His room is kept tidy and clean and the meals are up to standard. I would recommend the home to others and the care is excellent.

In general, the care provided by the staff is good but there is a lot of use of agency staff which makes up the numbers but in no way provides the same level of care. This also places a burden on the regular staff who are there do so much extra. I appreciate it is difficult to find permanent staff so
there needs to be more value placed on attracting and keeping them.

My mother was only in the home for a few weeks after she fell and broken hip. The staff were very welcoming and kind. My mother was treated with dignity. Her care was attentive and friendly. She was always clean and well dressed, something that would have been important to her. The room was bright and
well furnished and she had a profiling bed and ripple mattress. Overall care was to a very high standard.

After a couple of falls and her dementia deteriorated. My sister had to be moved to an EMI unit from the residential home she was resident in. Thankfully she seemed to settle in quickly which eased the concern of the family greatly.
I always found the staff to be very helpful and attentive to my sister
and in her own way she appeared to be content.

My husband has settled in very well and seems content and enjoying the meals. The only complaint I have is regarding dental care. He has his own teeth and was always diligent in brushing them and flossing regularly. However, he has now needed several fillings and extractions and I notice plaque on his
teeth often. The dentist also says there is evidence that his teeth are not being cleaned often. Staff say it is the night staff's responsibility. Please improve your dental care! Thank you.

My mother was nursed at the Clandeboye home during the final stages of dementia. Throughout, the standard of care, nursing and compassion were excellent. The Clandeboye is not one of the newer care homes but is established, warm, safe and clean. All of the staff are kind, dedicated and very professional.
After weeks of care, my mother eventually died in the Clandeboye, in a dignified, calm and caring atmosphere. Throughout this time I was allowed unrestricted access to visit and always observed the highest standards. Very grateful.

Our 94 year old mother has been in Clandeboye for almost two years - she has mild dementia/registered blind/profoundly deaf - basically she required 24 hour care. My two brothers, sister and myself visit at random times and we have nothing but praise for the way she has been looked after. Mother declares
the food to be very good - 'but I get too much!' the staff treat her with respect, she is clearly looked after well and we the family are kept up to date with any medical problems etc. The official external agencies talk to us in terms of making sure mother is being cared for properly, as she is.

My mother has been in this particular nursing home for several months now, and in 2 previous 'care' homes for several years beforehand. Mobility and feeding much worse (not walking, and eating pureed food, but being fed). In recent weeks she has been moved to the far end of the home for more available
help; where time and attention are more available. At first I was wary, but I find the staff here are much more patient and suitable to my mum's needs. In general I feel she could not get any better care and treatment. Give or take the odd day, her overall contentment appears to be ongoing. No major complaints from me!!

Our families experience of this care home has been very good. The staff are very helpful and keep regular contact with me if there has been any issues with my father e.g If doctor has been called any medication issued etc. We have no complaints about my fathers care, he is always well cared for and

My mother has been in this care home for 3+ years. I can not express my gratitude enough for the wonderful care, love and attention she receives at the hands of all the staff without exception. She is always clean and well dressed. She is content and well fed. She can feed herself but I have observed

Clandeboye care home is a beautiful home. My mother has been there now for quite a few years and she is totally dependant on the staff for all her needs. The staff are always so friendly, cheerful and happy to help in any way possible. I can talk with the staff at any time during the day, there is nothing
they won't do. This also includes other staff in the home i.e. Domestic, kitchen and maintanence man. My mother is very well looked after and I cannot fault the staff for anything. When mom starts to show signs of cough they are on the ball immediately and she see the GP as most of the times she developed a chest infection. But the nurses are very quick at getting this sorted. When I go on holiday I can go away with piece of mind knowing mom is well cared for.
I just can't praise the manager and her staff enough.
