My husband was nursed in here from July 2015 up until August 2017. I cannot thank all staff and management enough for their kindness and willingness to help after my husband's death. I continue to come to the home most days and help with fundraising also take sweet trolly around.

Excellent manager and very caring helpful staff. Very good activity co-ordinator who is passionate and committed to providing a range of activities and arts and crafts for residents. Bedrooms are nicely decorated. Nutritious food and plenty of choice.

My brother was in this nursing home until he passed away in December. We as a family think this nursing home is brilliant with very caring staff. Thank you so much for looking after our brother well. We will certainly recommend this home, even residents were very kind.
Thank you.

Amazing care from nurses and assistants, always amazing at their jobs and very committed to making my mam feel at home and welcome, they all have adapted marvellously to the change as my mother is only in her 40s recovering from a brain injury, therefore, the attention and love they put into caring
for her goes a long way supporting her in her recovery.
Big thank you from all of our family, would definitely recommend this home for anyone with extra needs and support

Well where do I start with this place. One positive was it was always clean and tidy and there are some friendly staff (NOT many though). A lot of rude care staff with a massive attitude when you ask them for something simple and on a few occasions, I caught a few eye rolls. A young gentleman and one
other African lady said it was always like that, which I find appalling. Care staff also hang around the desk and gossip when there are residents waiting for the toilet etc.

My father has had carers for several years and has generally got along with them. He is now in permanent care and he and I are disappointed that he has not been able to to get on good terms with the majority of his carers. They care for them as necessary ie. cleaning/toileting/feeding but don't engage
much more than that with them.

Not many people relish moving into a care home and I think the whole experience could be improved by giving each resident a little more time for a chat etc.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.073)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.073) out of 10 for Kenton Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.790 for Kenton Hall is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.79

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.283 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kenton Hall is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.583

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
