The care my Grandad received was outstanding. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a real relief to find such a safe and friendly environment for my Grandad to be in. We received such support from all of the care home staff at the end of his life. We will be forever grateful.

My father was in Stanley Wilson for just under a year. The care he received was exceptional. The staff were so patient and understanding. He enjoyed his time at the home. I would definitely recommend Stanley Wilson.

Dad has been well looked after for the past year since he had his stroke. I am particularly grateful to the staff who noticed that he possibly had pneumonia when they fed him one evening. I'm sure that this timely action in getting him to hospital minimised the effect of the pneumonia and helped him
recover. Now he is back at the Lodge.

The greatest asset of Stanley Wilson Lodge is their staff. All members of staff are excellent and have a great ability to relate to the residents. I visit my friend several times a week at different times of the day and witness the gentle kindness and care given by nurses and staff and the importance
placed on what the residents' wishes are. The nursing staff have an excellent understanding of residents' conditions and specific needs as demonstrated by periodical reviews and written reports. I am very glad that I chose Stanley Wilson Lodge for my friend.

We recently settled our mother into Stanley Wilson Lodge having spent some time looking at various residential home options. We found that the staff and management could not have been more helpful. They always seem cheerful and warm in their welcome. Our mother has adjusted more easily than we expected,
particularly because the staff are so friendly. She enjoys the food and activities and watching the comings and goings through her window. We are very happy with our choice of home.

My husband has been a resident in Stanley Wilson Lodge for over four years. Obviously, his is well known to the staff. I visit almost daily. We do not get involved with any activities (his choice) however because of my long association I do know that everything possible is done to make the difficult
lives of residents tolerable. My only small grumble is that as my husband is alone in his room, staff do not have the time to chat.

My husband has only been a resident of this care home for approximately 6 weeks but already he has settled in and become part of the community. The carers seem to know and understand all his strengths and weaknesses, nothing is too much trouble and they go about their work around the home in a cheerful
and happy manner. Visitors and family are also included and made to feel welcome.

I was very impressed by the whole experience from day 1 when my husband was admitted right through until yesterday when he died. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff caring for him. They were gentle, respectful, warming and loving but still firm and got their tasks efficiently. I was made very
welcome no matter what time I arrived each day and so was my dog. The family atmosphere and cheerful attitude of all the staff were lovely, especially as my husband became frailer. I cannot praise them all highly enough. They made a difficult time easier to bear. A big thank you, Stanley Wilson Lodge staff.

It is very hard to leave your loved one in the care of someone else, when that time comes, we all like to think that no one can look after them as well as us. It is equally difficult for staff to be able to recognise every little habit or need for individual residents and look after them as their own.


I

was pleasantly surprised when my loved one went into Stanley Wilson Care Home and was greeted by happy, helpful staff and this made his admission so much better. They have ensured that both my husband and I are happy when we came into the home.


It is not the easiest of jobs to care for people with dementia, but they take it in their stride and even give a cuddle or two. Also, The Saffron Club next door care for loved ones in the day until they are admitted to full-time care and give such important respite. Thank you.

My mother has been at Stanley Wilson Lodge for 6 1/2 years now and she is now unable to care for herself in any way and cannot move from her bed. The level of care and attention she receives is excellent and carers are kind to her and show her a genuine interest in her well being. The manager is excellent
in her management, in her engagement of staff and in her open door policy if family have concerns. I have already recommended many to the care home.

My mother and father were residents at Stanley Wilson Lodge from 2011. My mother on the dementia floor until her death three years ago and my father on the nursing floor until his death two months ago. The fact that they were on different floors meant that I had extensive exposure to the staff/carers,
management and home generally. I also visited on a very regular basis. Throughout, the level of care, compassion and kindness shown to my parents was outstanding. My mother had complete memory loss, but thanks to the carers, she remained cheerful and healthy. In my father's case, thanks to the management, carers and indeed all the staff, Stanley Wilson Lodge was his home, full of his friends. As a family, from the very outset, and throughout my parent's residence, we considered ourselves unbelievably lucky to have found Stanley Wilson Lodge for mum and dad, we simply couldn’t have done better. As my father said so regularly, it’s all down to the people who work there.

I support the staff by ensuring that the club offers a wide range of activities, whilst promoting Independence, choice, Social Interaction and Well-being.


I am a mum of 3 and a Nanna to 8 grandchildren.

Job Title: Care Manager

Shilpa is a Registered Nurse, a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and The Royal College of Nursing. Shilpa holds a Bachelor Degree in Nursing Science and a Diploma in Mentoring.
Shilpa joined Stanley Wilson Lodge as an RGN in October 2011 and has been an eminent part of the Nursing Team since then. Shilpa has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for over 10 years. Her experience covers Emergency Nursing, Critical Care (ITU) Nursing and Elderly Frail Nursing. Shilpa is a very experienced nurse and has in depth clinical knowledge and skills.
Shilpa is Sue Clayden’s deputy and in charge of the home when the Home Manager is not present.
