Stowford House Care Home is a beautiful purpose-built nursing home overlooking the Oxfordshire greenbelt, situated in the village of Shippon near the historic market town of Abingdon.

Offering 51 spacious en-suite rooms with personal showers, a wide range of facilities and 24-hour expert care. Set in an ideal location with glorious landscaped gardens, Stowford House Care Home is one of only two care homes in the U.K who have proudly invested in innovative technology called Earlysense.

This market-leading, contact-free healthcare monitoring system provides continuous monitoring of movement and vital signs by simply positioning an advanced sensory pad under the mattress of a resident.

This innovative system not only enables nurses to monitor and collect data and receive instant alerts but has improved response times of the Stowford care team which ultimately leads to improved care for residents.

In their latest CQC inspection report, the home received an all good rating (March 2024). The CQC is encouraging care homes to use innovative technologies in care.

My mother went to live at Stowford House in September 2013 and this lifted a massive weight off my shoulders.
My mum is on lower memory lane and from day one of mum being there she has been shown real love, care & attention. I have worked for 24 years in elderly care and after looking round at several
homes with my partner, my brother and his partner I was always going to be very picky about where my should go. When we went to look round Stowford we all had a sigh of relief that we had found mum her new home.
Recently my mum has been very poorly and this has been really difficult to see my mum so frail but all the staff at Stowford a great support to me and they shown my mum great love & care.
I couldn't ask for more.

After training to become a registered nurse, I specialised in the care of the elderly, working as a nurse consultant and a modern matron. This involved overseeing a couple of community hospitals, as well as an NHS nursing home.


The nature of the work meant that I subsequently progressed naturally into the management of care homes, all the while ensuring high standards of care.


Residents deserve a high standard of care and support – this is a matter that I am deeply passionate about.


Consequently, I ensure that all policies, procedures, values, and the ethos of the Future Care Group are adhered to. These aspects assist me in cultivating a highly skilled team capable of enhancing the lives of our residents. This enables the team to lead happy and fulfilled lives, all the while retaining the freedom to choose the care and support the residents wish to receive.


I firmly believe in nurturing strong relationships with residents and their relatives. I acknowledge the crucial contribution that these relationships make to the effective operation of a care home. My door is always open should you wish to come and have a conversation.
