Stowford House

After training to become a registered nurse, I specialised in the care of the elderly, working as a nurse consultant and a modern matron. This involved overseeing a couple of community hospitals, as well as an NHS nursing home.

The nature of the work meant that I subsequently progressed naturally into the management of care homes, all the while ensuring high standards of care.

Residents deserve a high standard of care and support – this is a matter that I am deeply passionate about.

Consequently, I ensure that all policies, procedures, values, and the ethos of the Future Care Group are adhered to. These aspects assist me in cultivating a highly skilled team capable of enhancing the lives of our residents. This enables the team to lead happy and fulfilled lives, all the while retaining the freedom to choose the care and support the residents wish to receive.

I firmly believe in nurturing strong relationships with residents and their relatives. I acknowledge the crucial contribution that these relationships make to the effective operation of a care home. My door is always open should you wish to come and have a conversation.

I have been working in the field of Adult Social Care since the early 2006s. I began as a Health Care Assistant and gradually progressed into a managerial role starting in the early 2020s.

Throughout my career, I have gained experience in both Public and Private services, primarily in Nursing and Residential Homes.

My background is in nursing, which has allowed me to expand my knowledge and understanding of the clinical aspects of care.

I am deeply passionate about supporting older individuals and delivering care that truly centres around their needs. To achieve this, I believe in involving individuals whose personal values align with mine and the ethos of the Future Care Group.

I am dedicated to supporting my colleagues in their personal and professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and training. Empowering them to be their best not only benefits them individually but also has a positive impact on the quality of care provided in our home.

My name is Kellie Shiers and I am the Administrator of Stowford House Care Home. I have worked at the Home for 3 years, starting my journey with the admin team.

I found Stowford House while looking for 24-hour care for my Grandparents who I was caring for at home. As soon as I met the team, I knew I not only wanted my Grandparents to live here, I wanted to join the team and be part of making a difference in people’s futures.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my little boy doing various activities like baking and crafts. I also enjoy playing/listening to music, singing and reading.

My name is Tina Jones and I am the Receptionist at Stowford House Care Home.

Stowford House is a great place to work; it has a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

I really enjoy meeting the residents and their families as well as getting to know them. I feel it is a valuable part of my job.

When I’m not working, I like to do jigsaw puzzles, reading and spending time with my family including my Budgie called Bobby.

I have been dedicated to the care sector since 2020, where my experiences have honed my ability to communicate effectively and understand the distinct and varied needs of individuals.

Outside of work, I enjoy activities like painting, dancing, and listening to music.

I am Paula, and I am the Lead Nurse at Stowford House.

Since joining Stowford House when it opened in 2011, I have enjoyed every day! Days are always different, and I enjoy making sure our residents are healthy and cared for.

When i'm not at work I enjoy gardening and spending time with my family.

I'm Laura and I'm a Senior Health Care Assistant, where my role is to take care of residents on a day to day basis.

I love my job - I enjoy caring for people! I've been at Stowford house since it first opened and have loved every minute of it!

My name is Andy, I’ve worked at Stowford House for 3 years. I am responsible for health & safety, fire checks, and all other general repairs. I enjoy the variety of my job and the different challenges it presents.

Hello, I'm Mel. I have worked at Stowford House for 7 years. I started my job here as a Kitchen Assistant helping prepare delicious meals for residents, but soon found myself very interested in maintaining a safe and clean home for our residents.

I very much enjoy working here as everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

When I'm not working I love spending time with my grandson!

Since joining the team at Stowford House in 2018, I have gained experience working in a variety of pubs and restaurants. My job is very rewarding as I get to see the residents smile when they eat the meals prepared by me! No two days are the same as Stowford. I love daily interactions with the residents and colleagues.
In my free time, I enjoy making new memories with my family.
