Moving to Croft Meadow Care Home was the best thing that happened to me in the last few years. Staff are great, management is outstanding, nothing is too much for them. The activities coordinator does the best activities, if I don't want to take part she will do something different with me! Thank you
all for taking such good care of me.

I was invited to this home by a friend who has a grandmother resident at this home. It was on 3rd June for the Jubilee party.
Although I wasn’t a relative, I was still welcomed into the home by the friendly staff.
I found the home to be clean and tidy with plenty of staff on hand to take care of
the residents’ needs whilst still being offered party food and drinks to the visitors.
The residents were included in the festivities with some sing-along songs, face painting, a tombola and “pin the crown the corgi”. They seemed to be enjoying themselves.
I was impressed by the food laid out, the decorations and the entertainment fitting for the event and even got a photo with the “Queen” and won a prize on the tombola!
The home is in a good location with plenty of parking in the vicinity. It had a very friendly atmosphere and I would definitely be happy to come back again sometime in the future.

I was over there visiting my friend's granny and I was pleasantly impressed by the care and friendliness of the staff. The home was clean and you could see that people feel at ease being there.
I am not one to usually leave reviews but I have honestly felt comfortable and happy being there!

I have been very pleased with the way my husband has been cared for at Croft Meadow Care Home. All the staff are very kind and attentive and he is treated with dignity at all times. There always seems to be something going on and I've noticed how the staff interact with all the residents. Nothing is
ever too much bother for them.

The staff at Croft Meadow Care Home are always so welcoming and friendly whenever I visit, with lots of activities planned in for the residents to take part in. Covid measures are taken seriously with masks and the home is clean and tidy. Lovely space for the residents who get on well with one another

The difference the care has made for my Dad is amazing, he has put weight on, he is more mobile, and he is stronger and interacting more. The staff are so lovely and caring which is what I would expect from a proper care home. The facilities are very good. Dad likes the food and is very well looked

My Grandad has recently moved into the home for respite care. All of the staff at Croft Meadow have been very accommodating to my grandad and his needs. I have noticed a significant change in his moods and his physical state. He is happy and chirpy again. He seems so much stronger physically. We were
finding it hard to get Grandad to eat at home, since going into Croft Meadow he has been eating much more and this has made such a positive difference to him. The staff get him involved with the activities and are always encouraging him to interact. I am impressed with the staff at Croft Meadow and honestly, I am glad we chose them. It's a big decision to make for a loved one and they have proven to us it was the right one.

Came to see my antie after 2 years, was so pleased to see her doing so well and happy. During my visit, the residents were having a pub quiz, with a small mobile pub/ trolley with all sorts of alcohol on it. All the residents and my antie included were taking part in the quiz and having lots of fun.
Was nice to see staff interacting with residents. Home looks so different from what it was the last time I came in 2020. I must say, I really enjoyed my visit. Thank you all at Croft Meadow for all that you have done and still doing.

Everyone made me feel very welcome indeed. It's been eleven days of wonderful holibobs. I almost didn't want to leave. I met many fabulous and fascinating people, staff and residents, I think, I made some good friends. I'm already missing the electric bed and my showers. I'm missing the porridge and
bacon sarnies and all the other food that magically appears like a Hogwarts banquet, three times a day. The days were busy with activities, laughter, chats and little naps. I have seizures but never was I left feeling unsafe. I'd return in a heartbeat.

From the moment my husband arrived, he has received warm, friendly, helpful assistance to settle in.

My mother was in a nursing home for eighteen months - she was given one months notice as the home said she had senile dementia - on August 12th 2021 she was transferred to Croft Meadow Care Home. On her arrival, she was greeted like a friend by the lead nurse - I have been impressed ever since - wonderful,
caring staff.

My husband, who has dementia, has been a resident at Croft Meadow Care Home for eighteen months now after contracting Covid. All the staff are dedicated to the care of others and their work - they are also wonderfully supportive to both of us. Especially when I feel guilty and sad. My husband is well
looked after with excellent meals, personal care, laundry etc., other advantages are the various activities available i.e. singing, concerts, films, even a 'quiet room' and a mobile bar.
I do wish these lovely people could be better rewarded for their care and attention to the vulnerable as I am certain most of us could not do their job.

My husband has bad dementia and is bedridden. He had to have full-time care and be helped to eat. The staff are all so kind and caring and he has never seemed stressed or upset in any way. It has been very difficult during the pandemic with very little visiting but the staff have coped admirably.

My sister finds it very difficult to get the right words and to say what she really means. Most of the staff appear to be patient with her most of the time. She can also have "tantrums", which they mostly deal with by showing patients and understanding.

My parents went into the home at the start of lockdown. It was very hard, but the staff did everything to make it easier. Their commitment to making sure all staff and residents were safe during the covid19 crisis. Every member of staff is so caring. I know my parent are in very capable hands. Some
staff members have gone above and beyond for my mum, who is nearing the end of her life. This has been a great comfort to me and my family. I would recommend Croft Meadow to anyone looking for a safe and caring home for their loved ones.

I began working for Shaw healthcare in November 2018 joining Hillside Lodge as a Home Manager. My first time as a home manager and the first time with Shaw, I am enjoying both very much.


Prior to joining Shaw, I enjoyed roles of clinical lead and deputy manager in three different homes, in the West Sussex area.
I originally trained as a nurse in Romania my homeland, where I worked in a cardiac clinic for several years.

Here at Hillside Lodge, I really like that I can make a change in people lives and I feel so privileged, to care for a generation to whom life was something you can only see in the movies.
Since becoming Manager, I have made a point of getting to know all the residents in the home, they all call me by my christian name.
My office door is open to residents whenever they would like a chat or sometimes, they just pop by for a coffee with me.


Memories of a special working day? Well, last year’s Christmas fair was something to remember, I was holding a snake weighting only few pounds less than me and the other reason I have to say is the joy in the residents faces whilst they shaved my hair for charity.


I really love my job!

I have been working at Croft Meadow in both of my roles for close to 4 years and I thoroughly enjoy caring for the residents here and working with the staff. There is a definite family feel within the home.
