My mother has been a resident for over 12 months. She has been cared for very well even though at times she has been very difficult. The staff always seem caring, friendly and patient. The meals are very good quality and plentiful. I do have a couple of suggestions relating to the dementia unit. Fruit
does not seem to be offered as much as in the resident's unit I understand it cannot be on display. Cushions designed for back support would be beneficial to some residents (we purchased some for mum) Incontinent pants rather than pads would be an improvement.

Carers are all very good at their job. The home has more activities than before. My only thing I would like to improve is the cleanliness of my mum's room maybe it could be cleaned and hoovered more often.

The care staff at Newfield Lodge are exceptionally patient with quite difficult residents. I know my mother is safe and in capable hands. If anyone is reading this whilst in the process of choosing a home I would recommend Newfield Lodge.
P.S. Whilst checking homes out use your nose. Low smells =Good

Newfield Lodge is light and airy with a friendly, warm atmopshere, and the carpets are regularly shampooed so no awful smells. The staff are brilliant, caring, friendly and so patient, nothing is too much trouble. The food is good with hot lunches but also hot and cold options at breakfast and teatime.
They also have optional extras of a hairdresser and chiropodist, both very good and reasonably priced. I consider that my mum is well looked after, she is happy, well fed and her personal needs cared for.

Lovely place is Newfield Lodge. The residents are well looked after, it's a very friendly place. The staff are great, the food and drink is excellent. I am very happy here and my family are happy that I am here getting looked after when they are at work.

Family picked this care home for mum as we think it's the best. It looks more like a hotel than a care home, which we think is very nice. The food is excellent and the staff is excellent too. You can just tell by walking into the care home that its a lovely place with lovely staff and the maintenance
man is excellent too. He's so busy all the time, we visit every day and always get a good welcome. We have mum living there, also mother-in-law.

We are completely satisfied with the care mum receives. The staff are wonderful: friendly, caring and always willing to talk and support the family. Any concerns are attended to and we are contacted if needed. Mum is content and has everything she needs.

In the past month since new manager has taken over the home has improved in many areas, staff moral has also improved greatly. Activities are more obvious than previously too and overall I am pleased with the care my mother is receiving. Most of the staff do a great job and undertake problems to a very
good standard and carry out personal cares in a professional and caring manner and treat my mother and support her in a dignified manner.

Mum resided in Newfield Lodge for 3 years. The staff are always friendly & caring, treating Mum with respect and dignity when she couldn't speak up for herself. The carer's role is a very taxing one and probably one of the most thankless I have ever encountered, as aside from the day to day caring,
they require the utmost patience and tolerance, not only with the ones in their care but with their relatives. The staff at Newfield always act with professionalism & compassion and in my experience, nothing is too much trouble for them.
Being able to trust Mum to the care of these dedicated staff made dealing with the difficulties of dementia & the effects it had on her, slightly easier to bear.
The facilities, food, rooms & activities are good/excellent. Unfortunately Mum was unable to appreciate most of them but in comparison to other places we looked at, they are.
I would recommend Newfield in a heartbeat to anyone in the same situation we found ourselves in 3 years ago. They contradict the highly publicised 'nightmare stories' of residential care that everyone is so keen to talk about these days & I believe in recognising credit where credit is due.

On the occasions we have visited the home we have been greeted in a friendly and kind manner at all times. The home is always spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and approachable. The lady we visit is extremely happy with her care, food, room, activities and all the staff. She enjoys fish Fridays
very much and enjoys reading the information on the notice boards detailing menu and activities on a daily basis. We went to visit in December and the home was decorated beautifully. They were having a Xmas party the following day and our friend was very excited re this event and entertainment. We were also invited (could not attend). Excellent.

My wife, who has vascular dementia, entered Newfield January 2013. Her condition has slowly declined and she has been wheelchair bound and double incontinence for more than twelve months. Considering it is a residential/dementia care home, not nursing, her care has been very good and it would be churlish
of me to criticise anything other than staff members which is common in most private care establishments!

The home was a new build and purpose built, excellent accommodation spacious, light and pleasant furnishing and services, residential and dementia clients. Care is provided pleasantly and efficiently within financial constraints from DSS funding.
