My sister has been in care homes for the past 9 years and we now feel happy that she has found a comfortable home with staff who really care for her despite her challenging behaviour. Their patience is amazing and we now have peace of mind whenever we leave her. Staff in particular the manager always
find time to answer our questions and reassure us that she is okay ans also supportive of our needs and worries. There is nothing to hide at The Grange whatever time of day or evening you visit there is always a welcome, the door is always open. Staff seem much happier and more motivated since she arrived as manager and it is obvious that staff interact exceptionally well with her. She is not afraid of "hands on" help and always knows each and every resident and their relatives. It has become a pleasure to visit.

My Dad has Parkinson's Dementia and has been at the Grange since it opened. He has a large comfortable room that perfectly suits his needs. All of the staff are extremely attentive and know my Dad's needs really well. He is always clean and well presented and seems very settled. The food is clearly
very good and he eats so well, which is perhaps his biggest daily joy. There are regular activities, many of which involve the family and visitors. Every time I visit, I am welcomed and offered a drink - this makes me feel very much part of my Dad's life. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and I'm so grateful for all they do.

Since having new owners of the care home, and a new manager appointed, The Grange has gone from strength to strength. The environment is much improved and activities are improving. Not only are the service providers given support and care, but this is extended to the family and relatives.

Always treated with understanding and attention. Nursing and caring staff have all shown examples of personal kindness generating real response from one person which she and I will remember. No staff are excluded but most contact has been with certain ladies. Thank you.

Over the last ten years I have organised a dinner and band concert. My wife suffering from Alzheimer's has been in a care home for three and a half years. In November 2014 she was moved into The Grange, in 2015 December 13th was the date for the above function, this was also my wife's 81st Birthday.
The manager overheard me talking to a staff member that I would not be able to see my wife until very late in the day. Whereupon the manager asked me would you like your wife to attend the function, yes of course but this would not be possible, the response was wonderful, she arranged two members of staff to take my wife to the function and look after all her needs. Even the hairdresser came in to do my wife's hair. It gave all the family a real tremendous boost for it was the only time all the family would be together. The kindness was truly wonderful and most considerate. Thank you all . A credit.

When I arrive at the home I always get a warm welcome, after my 15 minute walk, I often use the lift to get to my husbands room. I am pleased to see his room looking clean and tidy each time I go.
I am glad to see him well cared for, and more relaxed. I am grateful that the corridors and rooms are
sweet-smelling, this is not always the case with elderly people. The food seems to be very good and I appreciate the idea of fresh fruit in the middle of the afternoon. Residents are treated with dignity. I am convinced that I have chosen the right home for my dear husband. I am truly grateful.

My wife was in the Grange for just over a year and initially hated being there. However over time she came to like the staff and be grateful for the care she received. This bond grew stronger and resulted in myself and my wider family feel that the Grange was a part of the family too. At the end of
her life she was treated with dignity and real affection. I was deeply touched when many of the staff attended her funeral.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.466)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.466) out of 10 for Lilleybrook Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.366 for Lilleybrook Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.366

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.1 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lilleybrook Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
