Apple Trees Care and Reablement Centre, Grantham

Apple Trees Care and Reablement Centre offer residents a real home from home in a modern environment. Spacious bedrooms with en-suite facilities look out onto landscaped gardens with raised planters, vegetable patches and water features, whilst comfortable lounges and friendly dining areas ensure residents can relax and enjoy all the usual home comforts.

A varied programme of events and activities mean that residents can continue to pursue hobbies they enjoy, and also try out something new. The home also has strong links with the local community, and school children and other community groups are regular visitors to the home.

Fresh, seasonal produce is a key ingredient for the home-cooked meals and snacks prepared by the talented chef and kitchen team, who always take into account individual dietary requirements and preferences. Relatives and friends are always welcome to join in at meal times.

The team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure that residents have care and support as and when they need it.

Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.
We currently have a welcome offer available for new residents funding their own care at Apple Trees. The offer includes free hairdresser/barber services, chiropody, daily newspaper of your choice and toiletry gift set on arrival.
Terms and conditions apply. Available for a limited time only. Speak to a member of the team for more information.

Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

Overall Experience

Care home is modern, clean smelling, with ample lounges and kitchens. Security is good as are requirements for hand hygiene and personal care. Staff are welcoming, very caring and smart, However, they are always under pressure.
There are many activities arranged and the outside space is very pleasant.

The gardens are well kept. The IT department have been excellent in resolving issues with TV connection, to enable to father to watch rugby.

Overall Experience

When I have visited I have found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. They talk to residents with care and compassion nothing is too much trouble. The home is always clean and tidy, the food is well cooked and nicely presented with a good choice. I cannot speak too highly of Apple Trees.

Overall Experience

My mum is very well looked after. She has a gel wheelchair supplied by Apple Trees that is excellent for Mum's lack of mobility. We have noticed when she is using this chair she can be much more alert and it makes her more sociable watching the world go by.
The staff are very good to her, keeping her

clean and fed.
My only criticism is the fact that her room is looking a little tired and the overhead light shade could be an uplighter.

Sadly mum passed away at Apple Tree in June 2017.
Her journey was a troubled one having more than one impediment, however, I feel privileged to have found Apple Tree who managed all my mother's complex needs with professionalism and humanity.
There are too many people to name who need recognition

for what they do every day but I wish to say thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Overall Experience

As my uncle moved into the final months of his life. Every care and love were given. The senior carers liaised with the GP and medical team eventually with the hospital teams. Always with my uncles best at the forefront. My uncles last week was spent at the care home among loving friends. It was obvious

to me that he was so much more relaxed. The final days was spent in a loving atmosphere with voices around. Very important that uncle didn't feel alone. My sincerest thanks to everyone at Apple Trees who project genuine warm family feeling.

Overall Experience

My experience watching the care of my mother at Appletrees has led me to full confidence in the care at the home. The staff have taken over all the day to day care smoothly and efficiently. The service provided cover all my mother's needs from the personal care issues to the social aspects of life.

The family have full access to visit and reluctance from the staff. My mother feels safe, happy and cared for at Appletrees. I have no worried about her wellbeing.

Overall Experience

Very friendly and caring staff who have the patience of a saint. Mum was welcomed into the reception area and settled in very quickly due to the staff and the support given to her.
I would definitely recommend Apple Trees to anyone that needs recuperation or care after leaving hospital or respite.

I would like to thank all the staff for their support and care that mum received. It's a big relief to know that she is well cared for and takes the pressure off us.

Overall Experience

Apple Trees has been home for over 18 months to a wonderful lady that I had the pleasure of being a personal support and friend too until the 12th of July when she finally passed away. AppleTrees have been constantly supportive to myself and my friend. It felt difficult at first for both the carers

and myself because I'm not sure it's normal to have a private paid carer when living in a residential home but as time progressed they realised I was there to ensure her high maintenance medical needs were supported and because of her anemia I would support her meals times etc to help them so they could continue to support other residents. There are some fantastic staff and true carers at apple trees and in her final days showed real support and professional care to her and myself. I'm so pleased she was brought to Apple Trees to live our her days. I miss the place so much and that I plan to offer my services and hopefully become bank staff at weekends when needed. Thank you guys xxx

Overall Experience

I have two close relatives in Apple Trees and they have both been there since close to opening.

The path through other care homes, that eventually led us to Apple Trees was not a particularly happy one. They had both been in another care home in the area and had very poor treatment. Through a professional

adviser in care we discovered Apple Trees, moved both of them into Apple Trees and haven't looked back since.

Of course dementia is a very challenging condition. But the staff at Apple Trees have the facilities, training and staffing levels to properly care for residents, to work with them in a calm and supportive way.

I cannot speak highly enough of Apple Trees. Calm, all appropriate staff know the residents and they CARE.

Overall Experience

My Husband went into Apple Trees for respite care. We were welcomed into the care home as part of a family and instantly felt the support and professional care we were needing. My husband is treated with great dignity and respect at all times and the staff always have time to answer of our questions.

Great consideration is given to their dietary requirements and the meals are both delicious as well as nutritious. Every afternoon there is some sort of activity to stimulate the residents. No one desires their situation that Alzheimer's presents but we feel we have second home.

Lee Morgan

Lee has worked in the care sector since 2009, during this time he progressed from care assistant to senior care, to deputy roles and in 2020 started to work in home management.

During this time working in the health care sector, I bring experience to the home, I like to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders. I have managed large and small service in residential settings, and I promote an open-door policy for staff, residents, and families.

The quality of care that all residents receive is my passion, and I aim to ensure that all the residents in my care receive the best and most person-centred care possible.
