Cliveden Manor is a lively, outward-looking establishment. The permanent staff constitute a group of happy and helpful professionals ranging from administration, activities, housekeeping, restaurant, carers and medical staff. As a new resident, I recognised an environment which was significantly different
from that to which I had been accustomed, but with the help of the friendly staff and fellow residents, I felt progressively ‘at home’.

We have been guided from the very beginning, by the staff, in what could have been a very stressful decision making time for our father. We feel confident we made the right decision as our father has settled in so well.
We are greeted by name and given a handover of what our father has been doing
when we visit. It reassures us he is happy.
A weight has been lifted off our shoulders as he gets the care equivalent to what we were giving as his daughters.
Our father is happy and safe, we can't ask for more than that.

After my dad died and my mum decided she no longer felt comfortable living at home on her own and moving into a care home seemed the best option. When she moved into Cliveden Manor, the staff went out of their way to make sure she felt welcome and at home. All the staff are kind, helpful and always
keen to understand Mum's individual needs. She now has lots of new hobbies, has made many new friends and is enjoying a new lease of life. We are very pleased with our choice of Cliveden Manor.

After a year of mental and physical decline, my fiercely independent mother agreed to a trial month in Cliveden Manor while my wife and I took a trip. After some initial confusion and reticence to leave her room, she started to relax, socialise, dine with other residents and enjoy life again. Returning
to the UK, we fully expected her to be standing at the door, bags packed, demanding to be taken home, but no, to our amazement and wonder she instructed us that she intended to stay at Cliveden. This is a testament to the care she has had from the Cliveden team, coupled with her realisation that living on her own at home is no longer viable for her and, frankly, less interesting and much more challenging than Cliveden. We now visit and socialise with her, confident that her safety and care needs are met 24/7. So, thank you, everyone, at Cliveden.

From the point that I first approached Cliveden Manor with a view to my mother becoming a resident, I cannot fault the communication, the care, the time spent with Mum, the efforts to provide Mum with much-needed stimulation and confidence, the dignity provided to Mum, the cleanliness and attractiveness
of all areas of the home, the quality of food, the Covid measures in place at all times. It's been exactly the experience we wanted Mum to have as she approaches the end of life. Faultless.

Mum moved into Cliveden Manor and settled well, with lots of careful planning and additional attention in her first weeks while settling in. It soon became apparent that her memory loss was more disabling than we had realised, so she moved to a smaller but equally comfortable room in the Willows wing
of the home, where she could have a higher level of support. The team in Willows are very caring and cheerful, and generally, show the right balance of respect and kindness. Mum has regular visits to the hairdresser, gets help with personal care and enjoys the wonderful meals provided. The environment is always clean and fresh, and a very pleasant place to be. A lot of effort goes into providing activities and entertainment. I would also like to give a big shout out to the manager and all the team who worked so hard to make us welcome, as well as the wonderful staff throughout. Thank you!

After my father passed away last year, we wanted to find an environment for my mother that enabled independence, but at the same time, offered daily support if needed – Cliveden Marlow has done exactly that.
The process of moving my mother into Cliveden went very smoothly, and since she has been there,
her needs have been met, and I have found the staff very approachable and responsive.
There is lovely energy in the building – spacious, clean and welcoming – it has also been great to hear about some of the activities my mother has taken part in.
Overall, I am very happy we choose Cliveden. It has given me peace of mind as my mother now lives in a safe and peaceful place.

Having had my parents living at home with me, I was reluctant to accept that the time had come to pass the job of caring for them to a nursing home. My dad needed palliative care, and my mum was unable to walk unaided.
The moment I walked into Cliveden Manor, the client care team were kind and supportive
and made the decision much easier. The staff are excellent from the manager, the nurses, the carers, the reception and activities teams to the cleaning staff, who I have met on my visits. So many of the people who work at the home have love, care and dedication, which shines through. My dad sadly passed away, and the compassion that Mum has received has really helped her through a difficult time. She says to me that the carers who look after her are" wonderful". She appreciates all their different personalities, talents and skills, and loves that they share stories of their lives and families with her, often having a laugh and a joke. What more could we ask.

My parents moved together into an apartment in Cliveden Manor in October 2021. Both fiercely independent, it was a difficult decision for them to make, but Cliveden Manor provided the perfect solution to their needs. It was wonderful to find a place where they could continue to live together in their
own apartment with their own bedroom, wet room and separate sitting room, including a kitchenette, but with the care and medical care, they need instantly to hand and of a high standard. Furnished with their own things, the apartment is home-like and comfortable. The home itself is finished to a very high standard, and the staff provide first-class care, tailored to the wishes and needs of the individual residents - it feels like a very friendly hotel. There is plenty to do but no pressure to join in. I have no hesitation in recommending Cliveden to anyone considering moving into residential care. It has certainly challenged my image of what residential care looks like.

My mother went to Cliveden Manor for respite care in December, and I was really happy with how she was looked after.
One lady manages new residents and did everything to ensure that Mum's stay was as enjoyable and comfortable as possible and made her room look just lovely! The facilities are great
- rooms are light and airy, and she and everything at hand.
After the first night, Mum said her aches and pains had gone! The underfloor heating definitely helped, and Mum really liked the bathroom that was very easy to use.
The staff put on lots of activities, and Mum did join in some, and there's a lot you can do if you want to, without there being any pressure to take part.
Mum only needed minimal day-to-day care, so they helped with washing her hair and simple needs.
I'd recommend Cliveden to anyone who is ready to move into a residential home; you can still have your independence whilst being supported.

We moved my father to Cliveden last year; we were concerned that a change of residence would be disturbing for him due to his increasing severity of dementia. The team at Cliveden were so welcoming, and their attention to residence needs is excellent, the result being he has settled in very well indeed
and enjoying living at Cliveden.
The team are responsive, always pleasant and treat both residents and families with the care and respect required in what can be a difficult situation emotionally and physically.
I would happily recommend Cliveden to anyone looking for care.

I found all of the management and care staff friendly, helpful and very approachable. They were empathetic with our situation and offered sound advice and encouragement in what were, at times, difficult circumstances. The accommodation and other facilities are above average, and my father absolutely
loves the food! I would have no hesitation in recommending Cliveden Manor to anyone who was looking for excellent dementia care.

Mum moved into Cliveden Manor for a period of rehabilitation following a fall. The staff were unfailingly kind, helpful and considerate and went out of their way to support her convalescence. We found that any minor niggles were listened to and quickly resolved. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.
The facilities are very good, and the accommodation is very pleasant, but it's the overall attention and care shown by the staff that really stands out. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cliveden Manor.

March 2020 and the start of Covid, my elderly father moved from Winchester to live with us. Realising he would not be able to live on his own, we looked at the options locally and visited Cliveden Manor. It was very welcoming and offered all the support and personal care he would need as well as his
being able to maintain his independence; he liked that he could have a small apartment with his furniture, which would make it feel like home! Following three separate respite stays, which he enjoyed, he is moving into Cliveden Manor as a permanent resident, furniture and all! The facilities are excellent, the choice of food good, and the staff are all very caring and helpful, and any issue is quickly rectified, which is very reassuring. Communication from Cliveden Manor to the residents and family is excellent. Visiting my father daily is a pleasure, and he happily reports the many conversations he has enjoyed with the other residents and staff.

My father had been looking at moving to Cliveden for a couple of years before he actually made the move; he was not very keen to give up his independence but had fallen a couple of times and eventually accepted he needed more assistance. The staff have been absolutely wonderful in making the transition
as smooth as possible, and my father is now settled in and feeling very well looked after. He especially likes the food choices and regular meals.
We looked at a couple of choices for care in the area, and Cliveden is way ahead in terms of comfort and service. I would recommend anyone to move here if they are looking for assisted living.

Our mother has been at Cliveden Manor for over 8-months now, and she seems to have settled in well. Since, we, her daughters, all live overseas, it wasn’t an easy transition for her to move to Cliveden, especially as we haven’t always been around. We have been incredibly impressed with the staff - from
moving Mum in, to make sure she’s included in all the activities to ensuring that all her medical needs are met. We have appreciated the numerous emails listing the protocol changes for visitors during the Covid pandemic, and they are generally quick to respond to our emails. Our mother tells us that all the meals are delicious (especially the cakes and desserts) and that the staff are consistently helpful and positive. We are grateful for all the photos on Facebook, and it’s always wonderful to see her engaging in activities and having fun.

My dad moved into Cliveden at the end of September 21, and I was delighted with the help and care that all the staff showed to my father and me during the process. Our plans changed several times as Dad had a spell in hospital after a fall, and the client liaison manager was patient, responsive and
quickly adapted to meet our requirements.
After a couple of months, my dad is happy and settled in. He is really enjoying the restaurant and also the casual meetings that he has with other residents. He has told me that he also enjoys sitting in the courtyard (in the better weather), and I know that he has taken the opportunity to go out on his mobility scooter into town, which to shows me he is feeling happy and confident.
I feel reassured that Dad has the support he needs at Cliveden, and I can visit him easily.

My dad and step mum moved into Cliveden Manor at the end of September due to Dad no longer being able to cope with her dementia. When we showed him around Cliveden Manor, and we met by one lady, Dads comment was that it felt like being on a cruise (his favourite kind of holiday). Initially, Dad found
the new environment, the new routine, and so many new people a little overwhelming, which is totally understandable. All the staff at Cliveden could not have been more supportive, both of us as a family as well as supporting him as the client, gradually he began to feel more settled. This week, he said he really feels part of the community, which was great to hear. He also thoroughly enjoys all the outings, today they are both at a Palace. I can also recommend the private dining, having enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch to celebrate her birthday.

I've worked in the care sector since 2005 and worked my way up through the ranks from Care Worker before becoming a Registered Manager in 2011. I studied Economics, Management, Marketing and Accountancy. I never thought I will end up in care, but I really enjoy it and maybe it has something to do with my mother who was a nurse in intensive care and later managed day centre. She always told me and my brother stories about her work. As a child I used to visited day centre she managed, and I enjoyed spending my time with elderly people from my childhood. It is rewarding to support people to continue to have a high quality of life.

I've worked for several care companies including private, social services and not-for-profit care homes and managed two domiciliary agencies. I hold Level 5 in Health and Social Care, Level 3 in Dementia Leadership, Level 3 in Palliative Care, Level 2 in Mental Health, and Level 2 in Nutrition and Health.


I worked at Esher Manor/Avery for 5 years and I transferred to Cliveden Manor/Avery in August 2023.

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager

I was born in Sunderland, however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.


I completed my schooling and I enrolled into nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards, after a few years I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.


In 1990 I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.


I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.


In 2022 I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL, this role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology. I am currently enrolled on the Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme and believe that together we can all achieve our goals.


On my days off I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.
I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns, or just have a friendly chat.
I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024.

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.


I have been in sales for most of my career.


I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.


Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! Avery is a wonderful company to work for and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to grow. I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.


I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.


I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.


I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.


I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.


Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

I started as a care supervisor and I worked my way up to Residential Care Manager in August 2023. I manage the Assisting Living Department at Cliveden Manor and I support our General Manager and Deputy Manager with the management of the home.


I am driven by ensuring all our residents are delivered exceptional person-centred care, as the residents are my priority. As the Residential Care Manager I work alongside a fantastic and committed team of carers who are equally passionate about the care we provide.

Having previously been accustomed to roles in the customer service and retail industry I joined the Signature family in Sept 2019. My knowledge and experience of community, charity and social events have been paramount to my objectives and ideas for our residents. I began my signature career as an Activities Assistant, achieving a Level 2 qualification in the principles of dementia care. I have now taken the role of Activities Supervisor supporting the activities team and working hard to introduce a wide range of fun activities and events to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the residents of Cliveden Manor. I am privileged to be part of an amazing team and to be able to work together to cultivate a stimulating and varied lifestyle for our residents.
